The Country Alternative band Lucero swaggered into the Fonda Theater last Wednesday March the 21st and preceded to tear the historic theater apart with their hard driving semi punk style (left over from Ben Nichols days with the punk band Red 40 I’m sure) and raucous “Good Ole Boy” humor, Lucero seams to have the ability to bring you to the height of angst and just when you think your going to explode Ben brings right back into focus with an awesome set of heartfelt “Balled” songs that obviously come straight from his own personal experiences. Ben Nichols song writing allows you the see directly through his eyes and straight into his heart, this in my mind is exactly why Lucero continues to gain fans and drawl crowds to venues like The Fonda from as far away as S.F. just to bask in their wonderful and playful set list. A truly awesome night !!!
This show was absolutely amazing. I was afraid the venue was going to be too small, but it was a decent size for the show, and I could not be more pleased. I hope to see Lucero and Lionize again. Both were great.
The Paradise Rock Club is an absolutely great place to go see your favorite band.. There isn't a bad seat in the place, and the lines for the bars are quick.. if not non-existent!! Given a chance to see a band at this venue in my opinion is a much better time and show than some of the bigger venues such as the HOB or Td Garden!
Awesome show! Played all of my favorite songs they made. Great performances too by all three bands.
A great energetic show as I've come to expect from Lucero. They just play on and on and on with boundless energy. A mixture of old with new and their rocking music made it a special New Year in Boston. If you've never seen them you are missing out!!
I really love going to shows at the Masquerade. This is a wonderful venue, and the show was awesome.
Lucero is great. Some of the best Rock-N-Roll music to be put out this decade. They played all the crowd favorites, and everyone sang along....some in a druken stuper...but they're great. They broke out a few new songs, and brought the horns along which was amazing. They got alittle lit towards the end, when the came back on stage with a bottle of Jameson, and began to mess up a few songs; some folks started throwing beers at 'em;but its all in good fun and Ben just laughed it off saying "I deserved that one."
Excellent show. They played plenty of old songs and previewed a new one from the upcoming album. Great show as always. I love how accessible these guys make themselves. I got a great pic with Ben Nichols before the show. Crowd interaction was, as always, fun.
I've seen Lucero in several venues and they performed as they always do. Awesome show. This was my first time at Masquerade and I'll definitely be back. Masquerade needs to bring Lucero and Death on Two Wheels back as much as possible.
