    Mesmerizing Experience!

by Edsa on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I loved everything about this production from the music, dance, staging effects, dancing, and of course spectacular vocals. The Phantom in New York speaks well about the global reach of the writers and the twisted plot of this wonderful tragedy was oh so shocking as well. Dark and yet happy and very Cirque of Soliel'ish. Two thumbs up!

Great Music - Mediocre story line

    by Dutch1231 on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Gardar as Phantom has the BEST male voice I have ever heard in a Broadway musical and I have seen a lot of GREAT Broadway musicals. The rest of the leads are 5 star as well. Orchestra is best I've ever heard. The story needs some work. A lot of the Coney Island cast and activity seem confusing to me. Overall I'd see it again just to hear the Phantom's voice again but please do something with the Coney Island chaos, or, at least work in some way what the point of it all is.

    Excellent!!

by Cammoose on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I was not sure I wanted to go see this play but I'm glad I did. Very inspirational , excellent acting and singing, and, of course, I cried at the end. What a wonderful experience for me and I can check this off my bucket list. I would recommend everyone to go see this play.

    We had higher expectations

by Mirda on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Nothing as the original Phantom!!! Stage look small. We had bad seats and couldn’t even see the top. Which was Phantom’s mask. Ending didn’t need to be this sad. Phantom’s singing was just ok o boy he was spitting.

    Love Never dies

    by Fredmertz2 on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Act One is very choppy and the story line is not established due to other incidental subplots being tossed into the show. Act Two goes back to the story line a bit more, and brings the show to a conclusion. The leads in the show are very good. The set is very elaborate and the sound and lighting are also well done. Orchestra does a fine job with the book it has been given. The hard fact of the matter is this book is not very good from a story line, and there are some segments of the show that are just way too drawn, out especially in Act 1. As a sequel to Phantom this show really falls flat on a number of fronts. For a Saturday night show the theatre was not even full. I would not recommend this show. It just has too many holes in the book.

    Wonderful Sequel

    by Violet59 on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this musical. The staging, music, singing and costumes were beautiful and exceptional. We found it very helpful to read the storyline ahead of time since all words are sung and you sometimes miss what the actor/actress is saying.

    Love Never Dies.....Disappointing

    by Runs262 on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Sadly, this continuation of the Phantom of the Opera was disappointing. The story line was predictable and the music was not memorable. I felt a complete disconnect from the original. My recommendation is to skip it and just keep your memories of the first Phantom production.

by Dimare on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I have been seeing this play for the past 10 years and it always takes my breath away. This year surprised me because of the child that was introduced :) I loved it. It has been a birthday gift to me for years now :)

    Love Never Dies-Awesome

    by Pastrychef42 on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I went with my husband, daughter, and close friend to see the show. We thought the show was beautiful and the music was great-more passionate than POTO. I would see it again in a heartbeat-wish is was here longer in Chicago. Minor changes to the lyrics in a couple pieces were made since the filming of the Australian version, but the changes were better!

    Love Never Dies

by Anonymous on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

"Love Never Dies" was excellent! The two major stars sang just beautifully, as they were so talented. I would definitely recommend this show! Please go, before it closes. Worth every minute!

If you can't say something nice...

by Jkddonn on 2/27/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I invited my daughter to the play since we loved "Phantom" having seen it multiple times and know the lyrics by heart. This play was such a disappointment. Positive features: set design, opening act after the Phantom's first song, and a brave effort on the part of the actors to make the play work. Negative features: ridiculous plot, histrionics, and above all, except for the song "Love Never Dies" ,songs that do not measure up to the original play. I spent 300 dollars on our two seats yet we left at intermission since we could not stand it anymore. If you read the reviews of the play in London, and in Australia, you will see that others agreed with me. Andrew Lloyd Webber, who has written musicals I have adored, must have whipped this off on a cocktail napkin.

    Loved it!

    by StorkRN891 on 2/26/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Let me start off by saying that while I'm not a Phantom of the Opera snob (I've only seen it 8 times) it is one of my favorites. I read the reviews for Love Never Dies and therefore went in expecting to be disappointed. I most definitely was not! The music is different with more of a Coney Isle feel to it but still maintains the Phantom feel as well. The music is still playing in my head and I saw it over a week ago (of course, I did buy the CD). Yes, at times I questioned why things were written as they were but it helps to explain the story from one play to the next. The music is dramatic and touches the soul. The ending had myself, my daughter and everyone around us in tears, even the guy sitting next to me. I truly loved it and was going to attend again but could not find someone else to go with me.

    Hope this production NEVER dies

by MNMisMe on 2/26/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Having seen Phantom Of The Opera many times, I was NOT disappointed. I had no idea what to expect, and was blown away. The storyline was great. The music had just enough of the "familiar" from Phantom mixed in with the new. The talent was phenomenal, and the sets were spectacular.

Review of Love Never Dies in Chicago

by PaulPogo on 2/26/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

I loved Phantom of the Opera and have seen it 5 times. Love never dies was good, but the music wasn't nearly as powerful as the score in Phantom. The cast and orchestra are very talented and their performance was flawless, but this isn't Webber's best work. I WILL go see Phantom again (and again), but attending one performance of Love Never Dies was enough for me. If attendance is any indication of how well it is received, the performance of Love Never Dies for this show was only 66% to 75% attended. Every time I have seen Phantom, the house was completely sold out; whether it be an evening or a weekday matinee performance. I am sure die-hard Andrew Lloyd Webber fans will like it, but I am not one. It was entertaining and as previously stated, the cast and orchestra were great! If you are a fan of Phantom, then it is worth seeing once; but for the price of the ticket, once was enough for me and my love for it has already died.

Love Never Dies I would not recommend

by MPSPEATACT on 2/25/18Cadillac Palace - Chicago

Love Never Dies was dark and nothing like Phantom of the Opera. The sets and singing were great but the story line was something to be desired. Would not recommend to anyone I know
