    Love For Levon was amazing.

by DanoNJ on 10/6/12IZOD Center - East Rutherford

So many artists that are my favorites all in one place for one night. I can only wish it could happen again in my lifetime. I know they recorded it and I can only hope I can get a hold of the recording so I could relive every moment of the show!!! The set list is amazing. It reminded me of The Last Waltz twenty-five years later. Unbelievable, everyone was going home with a smile from ear to ear.

    Love for Levon was awesome

by Eggyjones on 10/6/12IZOD Center - East Rutherford

Outstanding tribute to the late, great Levon Helm. His band mates in The Band ,Rick and Richard were honored as well as celebrity guest musicians covered The Band and Levon's solo work.A beautiful night. The only down side is that the Izod center is a dump, and the sound is horrendous.Music cannot sound good in this old shed.Luckily there will be a DVD so we can hear all the instruments and singers clearly.

The show was excellent, but the sound in our section wasn't too good.

Feeling the Love for Levon all around

by SueZDaydream2012 on 10/6/12IZOD Center - East Rutherford

Heard about this event day of, excited to find a great ticket. Went alone, but never felt alone among the fantastic audience. Each performer played 1-2 pieces and the change over was seamless. I went away uplifted and am still smiling.

incredible line up. My morning jacket and Joe walsh were our favorites. However the sound quality in the meadowlands was very bad. Even painful at times.

    Nothin but Love for Levon

by ParsippanyRick on 10/6/12IZOD Center - East Rutherford

It was a good show- some good moments. For me too many starts and stops- there was little jam improvs - everyone was great and there was LOVE for Levon! With people like Robert Randolph - Warren/ Gregg- Jorma- Joe Walsh- Bruce Hornsby- Roger Waters, etc- I expect some more jamming- John Mayers had some flavor- but Joe and Robert had the most powerful moment- there was a lot of talent there, just wanted more musical interplay!

It was an awesome night. All the musicians were there to celebrate Levon Helm's life and his love for music. Larry Campbell,Don Was,Teresa Williams,Amy Helm,Mavis Staples,Joe Walsh,Jorma K, Jakob Dylan,Brian Mitchell,Justin Gipp,John Hiatt,John Prine,Lucinda Williams,Joan Osborne,My Morning Jacket,John Mayer, Jim Weider,Steve Jordan,Roger Waters all sang different Band songs separately and together. Highlights: Jakob Dylan, singing,Ain't Got No Home, and My Morning Jacket, MAkes No Difference, and Grace Potter beautiful rendition of I Shall Be Released, and ENCORE with everyone, joining in to sing The Weight!! There was such a feeling of love in that room for such a kind soul,LEVON. KEEP IT GOIN!!!

    Give 'em Helm!

by UncleRenz on 10/6/12IZOD Center - East Rutherford

Tremendous tribute to the late Levon Helm ... too many highlights to recount them all, but Grace Potter's take on "I Shall Be Released" was sensational. My Morning Jacket kicked tail. And elder statesmen Joe Walsh and Roger Waters did a super job on their versions, respectively, of "Up On Cripple Creek" and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down." Shoutout to Gregg Allman & Warren Haynes for a great version of "Long Black Veil" ... This one is likely coming via CD & DVD. Keep an eye out ...

    Sound mix was atrocious

by LM51 on 10/6/12IZOD Center - East Rutherford

Wonderful gathering of talent for a great cause. Sound mixer had mics off or too soft to hear too often to be forgiven. I spoke to several other people who attended thinking it might have been where I was sitting, but he was on the main floor & heard the same thing. Several times with Mavis Staples mic was off or too soft to hear. some solos couldn't be heard. Bass feedback on double bass. Couldn't hear background singers. And the drum sound which was overpowering was good for a band that wants that 20 foot high drum sound - nice job on that, but for another concert. Basically all you could hear most the time was booming drums & the lead vocal.
