I drove two hours to get to this show and it was truly a once in a lifetime event. Levon would be proud to see how this fine array of musicians worked to "Keep it going !!!
What can I say? A lot of people, musicians included, loved Levon and his music. It was a fitting tribute to a man who influenced so many. I have read in many reviews that this was Levon's Last Waltz and that's a pretty accurate description. The only things I wished were different, I wish that Garth Hudson played on more of the songs as he is simply amazing! I also wish that Randy Ciarlante, late-period drummer for The Band, was there, as well as Aaron Hurwitz, The Cate Brothers and Ronnie Hawkins. Overall though, it was fantastic! I loved Roger Waters' story about the hat. The harmonies were perfect. Thanks to Larry Campbell and thanks to all involved!
The venue was great, great view from any location. The collaborations were intense and beautiful. It was a casual evening of Music and friends getting together to create something outside ourselves. The entire experience couldn't have been any better even if it was held in a living room or backyard
Very entertaining, with various artists, and good acoustics at facility.
The concert was so amazing it made me want to seriously consider making a job out of watching live music!!!! Unforgettable!!! I was lucky to have been able to see this concert with my mom! She loved it!
the reaction seems to go on forever.. so grateful to have been part of this amazing gathering.. to honor such a master of the music world. We will always love you Levon...
Truly one, if not the best show I have seen....and I have been to many different shows over the years. Just when you think it couldn't get better you would get blown away with another great rendition of a Levon tune. Heard it may be something that might continue, above the Ramble events.. I would go again in a heart beat.
Larry does Levon proud - humility with heaps of talent and generosity. The variety of musicians and seamless changes between artists made this a great event. No speeches and beautiful music.
This benefit concert was just an amazing experience. It showed the stretch of performer's love for Levon as they ranged from country to blues to rock. The highlights of the show were definitely the finale of the Weight, Eric Church singing A Train Robbery, Dierks Bentley performing Chest Fever with Garth Hudson and Grace Potter. Such a special night, I am so glad they are putting it out on DVD.
There certainly was Love for Levon on October 3rd. Great show...one amazing artist after another. From the beginning with Warren Haynes and Greg Allman to John Hiatt , John Prine. Highlights included an amazing rendition of I Shall Be Released by Grace Potter , the stellar jam with Joe Walsh and Robert Randolph , and Roger Waters with My Morning Jacket... OUTSTANDING !!!!
Never a dull moment during this concert. Performer after performer delivered! I was amazed by the energy eminating from the stage. It was evident that this event meant alot to the performers as well as the audience. Levon's spirit lives on!!!
What can I say? So many great musicians and songwriters at one concert, and such a great cause. A concert I will never forget. Grace Potter stole the show! (until Joe Walsh hit the stage, and then Roger Waters... chuckle) We had nose bleed seats, but an anonymous gentleman in a black suit approached us and asked if we would like better seats... wow, we got to sit in the 2nd row lower level, center of the venue!
What a show! The variety of artists paying - and playing - homage to Levon was truly an incredible experience. What dampened it, unfortunately, was the quality (or lack thereof) of the sound. Too garbled/muddied. I have, in the past, seen/heard similar - high volume - shows with better clarity - in other venues (Beacon, Welmont, etc., especially Levon's barn/ studio).
Amazing, touching, unforgettable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Terrific event for a wonderful man! Great performers!
What an amazing showing of the love for Levon Helm and his family! The stage was just pouring with fabulous talent! So happy to have been a part of this party!!!! Whoo hoo!!!!
Although was a tribute/fundraiser was expecting the vast lineup of headliners to present some of their own songs. The presentation of only the bands works was often flat and uninspired sounding. First time i have EVER left a show before the encore!
A magical evening featuring a star studded cast that would be hard to duplicate!!
I've been to hundreds of shows/concerts and this stands out as 1 of the top 3 in my life! The talent on stage that night was inspiring. It was a moving, soulful, rockin, sad, joyous evening. For those who didn't make it you missed an historic event. Levon was pleased, of that I'm certain! I would definitely attend another event at the IZOD. I must comment on the friendly staff and parking attendants!
