The fox theater in Oakland where Love and Rockets preformed at was a giant piece of construction into art. The band sounded awesome in a building that holds 300 people. A perfect place for a concert.
Played all their hits and the less popular ones too. However, they didn't play 'All In My Mind' which I was looking forward to. However, the song was played by the DJ after the show was over; I guess to make up for the band not playing the song.
Great to see the band again. This was show #2 on the tour, and it showed. Band needed a couple more weeks of rehearsal. Most disappointing was the mixer. That person hung themselves early with volume. There was also far too much high frequency energy being thrown at the balcony. The mixer clearly couldn't be bothered to check his mix upstairs, whether at sound check or during the show, his work was proof of that. Probably a better show later in the tour, but as far as I'm concerned, not what it could've/should've been.
The fox was amazing as ever. The staff was a+. Bathrooms clean and efficient. The band was on and delivering it from 1st song to last. The set list was a crowd pleaser with a great stage show to set it all off. They exceeded expectations.Loved it!
Fantastic show. Daniel Ash was on fire, a real genius with the guitar!! The Fox Theater is a wonderful venue, as well!
Love and Rockets sounded AMAZING! Daniel Ash, especially, was killing it with his innovative, face-melting guitar licks. I was close to the stage and able to watch his fingers just slice and shred his instrument. His voice sounded like he hadn't aged at all either. David J, the bassist, was also very impressive with his thumping grooves. The drummer was playing so fast at one point, the crowd just erupted. They did two encores and played every song I wanted to hear except "It's All In My Mind." But "Kundalini Express," "Haunted When The Minutes Drag," and "Ball of Confusion" were definite highlights. For guys in their sixties, they were really rockin' it. It was a heart-pounding psychedelic goth dance party with solid walls of sound.
The sound could have been much louder. I was standing near the soundboard. The bass was never heard. The fact that I always have to wear my custom-fitted earplugs at shows, and this one didn't sound great while I wore them tells me that someone didn't soundcheck with the fact that the house was going to be packed later.
It was lovely to see L&R again after all these years. Their energy was amazing. Unfortunately, the sound on the vocals was very muddled, leading to a less that great experience which was in no way the fault of the band. Hopefully I can see them again in a different venue.
Show was great. They all played studio/radio-ready, sharp fuzz, right on the money. They played all the songs I was hoping to hear, and the quality of the sound and lightshow matched the band's music.
It was a fun show,. Unfortunately the lead singers mic was a bit muffled and every time they'd get the audience going they would take the wind out of the sales with a downbeat song. Hopefully they sot out the mic and play list order by Los Angeles.
Love and Rockets sounded amazing! Wish they would have ended it with a song we all knew and loved, but other than that, a fantastic performance.
The venue is GORGEOUS and Love and Rockets were worth the wait!

Everything about this show was incredible, from the parking, the venue, the opening act, the kind people and the absolute professionalism of the band. The choice of the opening act was so fun—Vinsantos really should’ve performed a lot longer, and what a cool experience with his back up band (girl with double guitar /!; another lady named “kitten in the keys). The band came out in really cool outfits and played their hearts out. Daniel Ash is such a great guitar player, Kevin and David did an awesome job too!! The entire theater was dancing-there was no drama, no fighting, no issues. Everything was great. The best part was everyone in the theater sharing their experiences of where they grew up, where they first saw Love and Rockets—etc. The whole experienced allowed the crowd and I’m sure the band too—to relive a part of their youth for just one night. Excellent show!
It was awesome seeing these guys in concert! I’ve loved this band since the 80’s and finally got to see them live! So much great music!
