Louisville Cardinals Women’s Basketball History
The University of Louisville Cardinals women’s basketball team kicked off their first season in 1975. Louisville belonged to several conferences, including the Kentucky Women's Intercollegiate Conference and Big East, before becoming a permanent member of the Atlantic Coast Conference in 2014. Over the years, the Cardinals have claimed eight regular season conference titles and six conference tournament championships. Among their 25 March Madness appearances, Louisville has advanced to the Final Four four times and placed as the runner-up in the National Championship game twice, in 2009 and 2013. Jeff Walz has coached the Cardinals since 2007.

Louisville Cardinals at KFC Yum! Center
Louisville’s KFC Yum! Center seats more than 22,000 fans, making it the third-largest college hoops arena in the country. The student section is known as The Ville'ns, and they keep the stadium lively. To juice their homecourt advantage, the Cardinals have made a habit of staging "color" events — "White Outs," "Red Outs" and "Black Outs" — during which fans are encouraged to wear the same color to games.

We went to watch the Louisville women play Florida State and even though they loss, we still had a great time. This was the second time we had the opportunity to sit in the box seats and they are very nice and spacious.

There are numerous places plus, Taco Bell, KFC, Pizza Hut and Papa Johns. I recommend Skinny Skins. They really pile on the food and its a great price. Delicious as well. There is also plenty of sections that have seating and a bar. If you forgot to charge your cell phone, they have a station for that also! The people were so friendly, it didn't matter that we had Notre Dame shirts on. Parking was a piece of cake with a parking garage right next door. There is also a skywalk so you don't have to go outside. Seats are very comfortable and have cup holders. Bathrooms were clean and modern. Very impressed with the KFC Yum Center.

We thought this would be a close game with U of L # 3 playing Notre Dame #2. u of L was hitting 70% while Notre Dame was only hitting 41%. I told my friend that U of L would hit 100 points she told me no way. but U of L did hit 100 and beat Notre Dame 100 to 67. I have to say the U of L coach after the game came out on the floor and thanked the fans for coming out to the game. that made the game special for being a part! the seats were great I selected in the middle and a great view.
