    Music?

by Gk on 8/15/22Maverik Center - West Valley City

The Maverick center has very poor acoustics. That’s just a fact. Most people are probably aware of that before purchasing tickets. What I didn’t realize was that the bands would be so poorly mixed. Some tried to adjust as they performed but when you only have three songs that doesn’t work well. The concert amounted to several hours of noise. A shame since there were some fun bands with some good songs. You just couldn’t hear them clearly.

Less Than County Fair Quality Show

by RogerintheSLC on 8/15/22Maverik Center - West Valley City

The sound quality was extremely poor for attendees not sitting directly in front of the stage. Most of the time singers were unintelligible. I was told this was because the tour used Maverick's sound equipment and not their own. Maverick should then upgrade the audio they can provide touring artists. There were way too many slow equipment swaps. Band equipment swaps were longer than the performances of each artist. I think bands could compromise to share some equipment to resolve much of this issue.

Enjoyed it very much in Arena. Wish events start earlier.

    by M. H. on 11/27/21Arena Theatre - Houston

Overall, I enjoyed the live very much. I love the Arena Theater in Houston. The place is very cozy! The performers were friendly. However, I wish these live events start earlier. This one started around 8:30 and ended around 11:30. I enjoyed the whole thing, though. Why not starting these live events early like 7:00?

    A Fun Show

by BAN on 11/23/21Arena Theatre - Houston

This batch of Lost 80's Live performers was good but not as good as the group that toured in 2019. The show was well organized with only short breaks to transition to the many bands playing. My biggest gripe is that some of the artists just have not aged that well. A lot of the vocalists just could not hit the notes anymore and that was disappointing. Some of the best performances were from Christopher Anton, Anything Box, the Flirts and Animotion.

Best ever blast from the past.

by Bgv on 11/23/21Arena Theatre - Houston

Saw the show at the arena theater in Houston. It’s a venue in the round with a rotating stage. So, that was excellent right off the bat. I’m not particularly an ‘80’s guy but I remembered all the artists and was somewhat familiar with their collective works. My friend was a few years younger than me and knew every song. As well as quite few of the patrons. 7 or 8 groups performed, rather seamlessly, because of the rotating stage. Equipment was moved on and offstage virtually while the artists were performing. Very little down time. A flock of seagulls finished the night with a great energetic set that was maybe 20 minutes long. The whole show was just short of 4 hours. I would heartily recommend this trip down memory lane to anyone who likes big hair and synthesizers. Very entertaining.

interesting venue, great crowd & music

by Deejenna on 11/23/21Arena Theatre - Houston

1st time ever seeing a concert at this unique venue with a revolving stage. The theater is small and I was sad to see it was only about half full, although the crowd that was there was all the way 1980's and was having a blast. Being it was so small and with the rotating stage, every seat there was a great view and pretty close to the stage so you felt like you were up close and personal. I wish the concert would have started earlier than 8:30, as it went on for 4 hours and that was with one act not being there that was on the bill. I did not know a couple of the bands and they went on too long in my opinion. Flock of Seagulls closed out the show and it was a terrific performance.

    Lost 80's Live Accurate

    by Disappointed_in_Houston on 11/23/21Arena Theatre - Houston

Disappointing show. Wasn't impressed by the artists performances and wasn't even sure who a few were or what songs they were playing. Multiple artists playing approximately 3 songs each - with none or 1 song per artist recognizable as "popular". Bands were okay overall. Bass was too boomy interfering with intelligibility of what I consider an acoustically ideal venue. One artist had no band and was playing music from a laptop; vocals were ... Overall, I'd like to remember the 80's better than this and if this is the memories of our 80's, than may they remain lost forever. Attendance was for my wife's birthday and she was entertained - much like one would be going to a comedy show.

    Fun, but poor quality

by Jay on 11/23/21Arena Theatre - Houston

The long delays between acts was too much. The night was fun, but poorly coordinated.

Not a bad seat in the Arena Theatre. The artists put on a quality show and really seemed to enjoy being there. Crowd was energetic. Good event…

Grade C. Okay, but not for the amount of money spent

    by a. K. on 11/23/21Arena Theatre - Houston

So few synthesizers. So few musicians playing that were still in a band. Stacey Q was so High she floated around the stage. A number of the musicians sung way out of tune, so much so I wondered when the last performance they gave was. And who the heck are the Flirts?! Why did Tommy Tutone walk off the stage before his song finished? The show had great start and great end. But much of the middle was iffy. This is the first show I've been to in 2 years and I would have enjoyed watching ants build a hill. And still, I wasn't thrilled. Flock of Seagulls saved the evening for me. Next time, have actual New Wave bands and not just one guy from the original line up. Since most of the music played wasn't 80s tunes I knew or by entire groups, I'm a bit let down.
