    Best Concert Ever!!!

by TinkyB45 on 8/20/13Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Loreena McKennitt transformed the Queen Elizabeth Theatre into an ecstatic parallel universe celestial festival - I think everyone in the audience was transported to a remarkably happy time & space by the 8 piece ensemble.

Best concert I have ever attended

by Gravityone on 8/18/13Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

This was my first time seeing Loreena McKennitt in concert. We were really excited so we arrived at the theatre super early after driving from Seattle. I was so glad that I purchased my tickets with ticket master because after driving to canada I realized that I left my tickets at home. After a quick phone call, I was able to pick up my tickets at the box office. Good thing, because they were front row center, the seats couldn't be any better. Loreena McKennitt in concert is beyond amazing, I don't have words for how amazing it was.

Best concert I have been too in years

by Osty789 on 8/17/13Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Her live voice is excellent. The 7 other musicians could play with anyone and the musical arrangements brought out the best from every one. Several of the numbers could have replaced the studio versions on Loreena’s albums without a drop in quality. My wife who was not a fan before is one now. The acoustics at the Queen Elizabeth Theater allow you to hear every word and each individual instrument. The sound setup was loud enough to be fun without falling into the “It has to be loud enough to hurt” trap.

    Loreena Mckennitt was dazzling.

This is the third time I've seen her in 16 years. I can't believe how she never fails to perform so spectacular. I know her music well and she keeps it so fresh. It has such a life of it's own that she cultivates and displays so unforgettably.

    Perfect Performance!

by YankeeTourist on 8/16/13Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

I've waited for years to see Loreena live in concert and travelled almost 500 miles to see the show in Vancouver. Lorena's voice was rich and soaring, tender and strong in all the right places. Her music is pure joy to listen to. Her band was a great accompaniment, and the venue was small and lended an intimacy to her performance. I would definitely see her again!

Seeing Loreena in concert in her home country was so much better than I could have hoped. Her voice is amazing and her accompanying musicians are top notch. Had a great time and hope to be able to see her again in concert.

    fabulous concert!

by deesum on 8/16/13Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Loreena McKennitt is a pure delight. I drove from Portland OR, and picked up tickers at will call. everything went flawlessly, except the 3 hour wait at the border to get back into the US! next time it's the train or bus!

    Lovely and powerful

by SunbeamTiger on 8/16/13Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Loreena has a beautiful voice with a great range, but the most amazing aspect of her singing is the tremendous power she projects, at a whim. Her interpretations of Celtic poetry are truly amazing.

An Excellent Concert well worth every penny!

by liatris on 8/16/13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I have been to a number of Loreena's concerts and absolutely love and adore her vocals, and performances. I have to say that she also has some of the most incredible back up and support artists on the stage with her. She hinted at a new album and perhaps concert to come and I will be there for that one also. I am disappointed with the amount of people in her audiences that persist in taking pictures during performances. I am also disappointed that the Jubilee does not enforce the no cameras request more effectively. When you pay to see an artist it is always distracting and annoying to have lights in your eyes, and photo flashes lighting up the auditorium. I am sure the artists on stage feel much the same way. Just a pet peeve of mine and I leave it here for others to see.

    Loreena in black and white

by PowderScouser on 8/16/13Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

The music was absolutely enchanting and mesmerizing. The venue is everything you could ask for. Perfect acoustics, comfortable seating and a full bar. Audience was polite and appreciative. Only complaints, and they're minor; 1. The entire band was dressed in black which made for a rather bland unimaginative visual presentation. The shaved head violin player, while no doubt a fine musician, looked like he was auditioning for a zombie movie. Some colorful and attractive clothing would have been appropriate to the music. 2. Less talk- more music. I know Loreena means well but her little chats between songs were rambling, nearly incoherent and truly pointless. We all know she's done some traveling (who hasn't) and it's inspired her music. But she acts like she's the inventor of sociology who discovered some secret Celtic culture. It's not really such a big deal. Great music, great concert!

wonderful venue to showcase the amazing talents of Loreena and her musical entourage. the entire performance was lovely remembrances of her greatest songs woven together with her journey of discovery of the Celts. she has chosen master musicians to accompany her harp and piano.

Front of the Line gave us front-row seats. We were able to see most of the performers very closely, but the hurdy-gurdy player and the Uillean-pipe player were hidden. Loreena's voice was wonderful. She performed most of her standards, plus many from, "The Wind That Shakes the Barley," so that some songs you might expect, like the Huron Beltane Fire Dance, All Soul's Night, and Cymbeline, were omitted. The band was smaller compared with the, "Nights From the Alhambra" DVD, so there was no Cretan lute, or Kanoun. But it was a splendid performance overall.

    Loreena McKennitt - Amazing performance

by KRGDark on 8/15/13Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Calgary

I have been trying to see Loreena McKennitt perform for a few years now but just never managed to make it happen. Very impressed with her performance at the Jubilee. Outstanding acoustics and words can't do justice to hearing her live. She had a great sense of humor when relating some of her musical journey stories which I didn't expect but just added to the night.
