About

Lorde is a Grammy-winning artist and cultural force, known for her genre-defying sound, introspective lyricism, and striking creative vision. Since her breakthrough with Pure Heroine in 2013, she has redefined the contours of modern pop--merging poetic storytelling with minimalist, emotionally resonant production. To date, she has amassed over 18 billion global streams and 18 million album sales worldwide.

In April 2025, she returned with What Was That, her first original release in four years. The single debuted to widespread acclaim and commercial success, hitting #1 on Spotify in the US -- her first US #1 on the platform since "Royals." It also landed at #3 in the UK and #5 globally, reaffirming her place at the forefront of pop music.

  • Lorde performs an okay concert

    by ChaffeurMom14 on 9/29/14BMO Harris Pavilion - MilwaukeeRating: 3 out of 5

I took my daughter and her friends to see Lorde at BMO Harris -- so I was not the fan. Still, I have been to a fair number of concerts -- many times not as the fan -- and have to say this one, while decent -- didn't make me a fan as other concerts I've attended have. Lorde is clearly talented and appeals to a wide variety of people -- from preteens to old folks, based on the audience. Her music sounds pretty much the same -- hard to differentiate one song from the next. ROYALS, her big hit - was the best song she performed with the best production value etc... the rest of the concert was okay. She's not much of a dancer, not too much of a band -- and she doesn't have a great rapport with her band or the audience. She sort of just says, "Milwaukee is so nice!" and she did go on for about ten minutes about being seventeen -- which, I think was very nice -- but lost the audience (even the teens). At the end she said, "This will be the last song." She played it. Walked off stage. Lights came up and that really was it. Sort of a let down -- but she's young. Maybe her live performances will improve. She seemed like a nice person and the kids like her -- so I guess -- that's enough.

  • Loved Lorde

You could tell Lorde gave her all from the opening song "Glory and Gore" til the finale. Her dancing was crazy and she sounded great! She also took time out in the middle of the show to talk to the crowd and it felt like she was being really open and honest with us, which was really cool. She played all her radio hits and most of the songs off her album. It was a really good show.

The Lorde concert was great. She is a good performer and would look forward to seeing her again. We didn't like the 45 minute break between her opening act and her performance.

  • Great show

by frommilwaukee on 9/29/14BMO Harris Pavilion - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed this concert. Lorde's voice sounded great. She spoke to the audience from the heart, and by doing so engaged the crowd. She had a pretty simple set, but used it well with great lighting.Over all, I felt Lorde is just getting started on what will be an impressive career and it was special to see the first tour. My only complaint was that a tween girl was standing on the bleacher seat the entire concert blocking the view up to 6 rows behind her. I wish the bouncers would have addressed this-not Lorde's fault, but the venues and the girl's mom..

  • Lorde is a great live singer!

by itsbeanbtw on 9/29/14BMO Harris Pavilion - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Lorde's vocals were amazing. I went to see her with my boyfriend; we showed up right around 7:15 pm and were able to secure a spot in the middle. Beware of the BMO Harris Pavillion, as it is not structured like the Marcus Amphitheater and does not have 'grass' seats, as it is all concrete and the barrier between the 'grass' (non-grass seats) and the bleachers/seats makes it impossible to sit. The acoustics were good for the venue and it turned out to be a good temp outside by the lake. Lorde is definitely a must-see, but needs to work on the performance piece of her show, as she did a lot of head banging/upside-down type motions, which did not really inspire me to dance. Her cover of Kanye was amazing, as was her cover of Bon Iver.

  • Lorde was Supurb!

For a 17 year old girl she sure could rock that stage! I would see her again!

We totally enjoyed this show. Although it was the shortest full price show I have ever attended.

by samiiscool on 9/29/14BMO Harris Pavilion - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

It was amazing and she changed a bunch of songs up but not so much that it was weird it was amazing. There was a lot of cool light stuff and she sounds just as amazing in person. I only gave it 4 stars because she didnt sing a few songs on the album.

Lorde has a great sense of showmanship, and really connects with the audience. I thought it was pretty funny how blown away she was that the concert was right on the lake.

Prefect venue in Milwaukee. Lorde gave a great performance. Not a bad seat in the place. The opening act, Majical Cloudz, was a great compliment to Lorde's style.

  • LOOOOOORDE!!!

Great show from an amazing young artist! If she's this good at 17, imagine her in 5 years. Great mix in the crowd too. From kids to "mature" adults. Way to support good music Milwaukee!

Couldn't have asked for a better venue. An amazing show, great weather and a fun crowd.

  • Lorde reigned supreme

by BrewersFanMilwaukee on 9/29/14BMO Harris Pavilion - MilwaukeeRating: 5 out of 5

Confession: I'm a 50-something lover of great music regardless of origin. I heard "Royals" about a year ago and thought ... wonder if there is anything of substance on this young lady's album Pure Heroine. Good Lord! Her writing belies her youth. The songs she fashions from her imagination to and including production of the song and performance in concert are incredibly mature for ANYONE at ANY age, but absolutely ridiculous for someone not old enough to vote! So I looked for to the show and admittedly, my expectations were high ... which can be a formula for disaster. No matter ... hands down the most F-U-N I have had at a concert in 2014, and I've been to Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Santana, Rod Stewart, Paul McCartney, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the entirety of Milwaukee's Summerfest selections (over 100 of the available 700+ bands), including the Kongos and other acts more akin to her age group. This concert was FANTASTIC. I have seen the same reaction from our interns at work, themselves 20-somethings, my younger roommates (also in their 20's), as well as a college buddy who at age 56 was completely blown away by this performance. This young lady enjoys a platform from which she will no doubt emerge as the voice of a generation. I saw a young Bob Dylan, a young Kurt Cobain ... same gut feeling: this one will speak for an entire generation. She was ... AWESOME.

  • Lorde is a music prodigy

by LaLaLeopard on 9/29/14Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica (formerly Nautica Pavilion) - ClevelandRating: 5 out of 5

It is hard to believe this phenomenal artist is only 17 years old. She exuded a ton of energy on stage. The way she dances while she performs reminded me so much of a young female version of Thom Yorke on stage. Fun to Watch & no filters - her voice is a true instrument. Loved hearing her Live & glad she came to such a great outdoor venue!

  • Fabulous Performance

I took my 13 year old daughter to see Lorde as we are both fans and she put on an amazing show. An incredibly talented girl with a great stage and video show. My daughter loved it!

Everything about her performance was outstanding! She stayed connected with the crowd and you could tell she was so thankful for all the love. The only issue I had was the crowd. I was lucky enough to be super close to the stage and the minute Lorde got on stage I was pushed practically on top of strangers, and it was like that for the whole show. Also, MANY people tried to cut in front when it was already super packed. So just a fair warning to those that wanna be front. Despite the crowd, I will defiantly go to a another show in the future. I'm still dreaming about it.
