The show was great. Paul Rodgers in particular was fantastic. Parking, however, sucked.

by Dan55 on 7/15/12TOYOTA PARK - BridgeviewA lot of great rock and roll for just $18. Loverboy opened up with a quick 35 minute set. They did all their hits and that was just enough. Paul Rodgers was next with a full hour set. Most of his material was Bad Co. songs, but he also did his Free classic, All Right Now. At age 62, he is still one of the best rock and roll singers around. What a voice ! His band was great and having two guitars filled out the sound. He could have headlined. Lynyrd Skynrd to me was hit and miss. Unless their sound man screwed up, they seem to have evolved into a high volume in your face rock band. Some of the songs just didn't work, while others sounded great. LS as a Southern rock band has lots of intricacies in their arrangements. The three guitarists are all playing off each other and the keyboards has always been part of their sound. Most of the songs had the guitars overpowering each other and the keys were buried except during the solos. It was a good set, but not great.

Rating: 5 out of 5 LOOPFEST ROCKED IT OUT!!!
by Ratattack1 on 7/15/12TOYOTA PARK - BridgeviewOut of control AWESOMENESS!!! New to the venue, my fave BY FAR. The party decks, the bleachers, the openness, the staff..the SOUND, people, the SOUND...ALL amazing. Soon as you walk in, the beer guy. Bathrooms clean, tailgating allowed, and nobody searched you and watched you like you are a criminal. Embarrased that was my first Loopfest, will NOT miss another, and especially at that venue. Loop staffers were totally ROCKIN, performers right on point. Still talking about it 2 days later!
