It was a great show. We were very impressed with the talent and execution of the performance. A great holiday tradition.
I’ll start with the positives: the orchestra was beautiful, most of the solo dancers were great, and the venue was wonderfully decorated did the holidays. But…the production of this show was amateur. Choreography was cheesy throughout and much of the chorus dancing was out of sync, which was a huge distraction at times. The use of so many little kids was probably meant to be charming but it just gave the whole thing the feel of an elementary school play. I paid too much for an elementary school play.
Everything from the full orchestra, the real horse drawn carriage, actual flying angels, authentic beautiful costumes are what you’ll see at this Nutcracker ballet. This is definitely the best nutcracker you’ve ever seen.
Unbelievable Christmas holiday spectacular. To become an annual Christmas event. Best with family & friends.
The Nutcracker Ballet at Long Beach was absolutely stunning and exciting. The little comedic surprises were great. I had an awesome time, enjoyed every part of the performance. (Staff at the Terrace were helpful and kind. - to the Lady in green in the restroom that came to my aide, THANK YOU ♡) Merry Christmas.
This is our second time to the Long Beach Ballet’s Nutcracker, but the first time with the VIP Experience, and the first time taking our 2 kids (ages 4 and 7). We had a great time and the kids loved the show so much that they asked to do it again next year.
It was an amazing performance of the nutcracker made me go back to my childhood. Absolutely loved it and definitely a must to see!
I’ve seen The Nutcracker for 19 years and this was the first I really enjoyed the music score, props, costume’s design, performance from the ballet company and the entire story of The Nutcracker. Bravo and applause to everyone who had taken part to make this performance magical!
Wonderful cast! Having a real orchestra really makes this die oak with some of the best dance talent bring this endearing story to life! Did VIP and our family loved going backstage and getting to meet cast!
I absolutely LOVE everything about this show. From the live orchestra, ballet dancers, to the costumes and sets… I could go on. It’s all so spectacularly well done. I recommend it to everyone.

Going to the theater every year to see The Nutcracker by the Long Beach Ballet, is a family tradition. This show is definitely above expectations. The spectacular production and beautiful performances by all dancers, including the super cute little kids, are at the level of any other professional productions. I highly encourage people to attend this show during the Christmas Season, it is a must see. I assure you will not be disappointed!
This Nutcracker sets the bar against which all productions strive to achieve. This is a magical suspension of disbelief, a story told without one word as was intended. Unparalleled dancers present their ebullient story accompanied by a live orchestra amid a palette of colors, textures, and special effects that want for nothing. The staff at this venue are top notch ninjas ! They silently patrol, assist, and direct. People of all ages are held in thrall, the moments of humor are universal...and we held our collective breath as one during the most awesome displays. ( I don't want to give too much away - this show should be on your list ).The Long Beach Ballet Nutcracker is a complete coup, a triumph that remains with you afterwards like a sweet taste in your mouth. Cheers ! See you next year!
We had seats in Loge 2, so, nowhere near close to the stage, and they were ~$100 apiece. I had never seen the LB Ballet perform before and I heard their annual performance of the Nutcracker was great. Parts of it WERE great -- the set design, costumes, orchestra, and solo ballerinas were fantastic. The rest of the experience was bizarre. Along with professional dancers, there were several dozen child performers. The older children were pretty talented and the younger children, being very young, were not. There were several parts of the performance that felt more like a toddlers' ballet recital than a show we paid $100/ticket to see. The crowd absolutely loved it. As Will Ferrell said in Zoolander, "I feel like I'm taking crazy pills."
The Long Beach Symphony was extremely good. I will definitely attend future performances. The Long Beach Ballet set and scenery was very good. The actual dancing was below par. I give it 2 stars out of 5. I will not be attending future performances.
I paid almost 400$ for three people they sat us at the 2nd from last row all the way at the top in the corner It was not worth $400 that’s for sure
This was my very first visit to this Theater! I bought along two other friends to this performance this glorious evening. By far, this was the best ever, Nutcracker ballet show that I have seen in my lifetime. Totally unforgettable dancers and staging for this amazing show!
