Local H, the iconic alt-rock duo known for their blistering live shows and unorthodox two-piece setup, are at the top of their game three decades after they first burst onto the music scene. Now, frontman Scott Lucas, who covers both guitar and bass (through an extra pick up in his guitar), and drummer Ryan Harding are gearing up to release their 9th studio album, LIFERS. Local H's first major release was 1995's Ham Fisted, but it was their 1996 follow up album As Good As Dead that positioned the band as one of the elites of 90s rock. The radio hit "Bound For The Floor" emerged as a generational anthem and remains a staple on playlists around the country today. Their widely praised 1998 concept album Pack Up the Cats solidified Local H as a leader in the genre, and the albums that followed reflected not only the band's definitive character, but also their relentless effort to give their audience as much of themselves as possible. The past five years have been some of the busiest of their career. They released their 8th studio album Hey, Killer, numerous EPs and live records, and a series of "Mix Tapes" featuring a surprising mix of cover songs. They've toured almost constantly, with hugely successful tours with the likes of Toadies and Helmet, including performances on Metallica's sold out stadium tour. 2020 will see the band on tour with fellow 90s alt-rock vets Social Asylum in the Spring, and their new album LIFERS will be out April 10 via AntiFragile Music.
I never had any idea that awesome sound came from 2 guys. Awesome concert
They're always really good, so I'm just going to say IT IS LOCAL H, and they are always awesome. When they come to Atlanta, they always play a small venue, and I prefer that.
What can you say about a show where they play literally all of their hits as well as several amazing covers? It doesn't get much better than seeing Local H do Pink Floyd live as only they can do it.
Great Show! The Mercury Lounge Kicks Ass! One of the best venues in the city.
Local H is my all time favorite band. They put on one hell of a show! As always!
Local H kicked a$$. Great concert. Mercury lounge is a great place to see a concert.
LOCAL H are one of those very few, always great, live shows. I am excited every time I see they are touring and hitting NYC. I never miss them when they play here and hope they continue to do so for a very long time.
Big fan and avid follower, so I'm biased, but Local H put on another excellent performance. They were plenty loud, tight as hell, and sounded great, despite his voice bein' a bit banged up (it sort of added positively to their sound, really). I highly recommend seeing them perform if you're a fan of early or mid-90s rock music. They offer an excellent sound, well-written songs, and a personal experience (when the show's literally just finished, scott lucas hops off stage, walks thru the crowd to the back where he then sells merchandise and talks to fans). It's their "Greatest Hits" tour where they're playing their singles, meaning you'll hear their great, popular songs, but probably not the lesser-known, potentially better ones.
Great venue and a great band. Local H never fails to put on a high energy show and other than a slow start, this show was no different.
I've been a fan of Local H for 14+ years, but have never had the chance to see them live. They played a wide variety of songs, many of which were hits but also some of their deeper cuts. Kicked off with Fritz's Corner, and then we were off to the races. My ears still hurt. Excellent. The energy was off the charts. At the end of the show, Scott fell into the crowd and was carried around the venue. As soon as he was deposited back on stage, he hopped off and made a bee line to the merch stand, where he dutifully met with and spoke to everyone who lined up to meet him.
show was awesome. I want to go back, and wish i was seeing the rest of the tour. I can't believe I waited all these years to see these guys perform.
Local H put on an awesome show. They're amazing performers and seem very down to earth. Interacted with the audience and every song kept getting better than the one before it. So happy that I went to this concert.
Scott Lucas and Brian St Clair are the ultimate rock duo!!!!! These guys created a "classic rock" song with Buffalo Trace . . . they are from Chicago and are always happy to play at home!!!! Been to several shows and am always happy to hear them live because half of the riffs are not on the CD!!!! I will always make it to the front row cause it's worth not being able to hear for a couple of days!!!! These guys absolutely rock and keep their tickets reasonably priced after soooo many years of touring! They still sell their own merchandise so even new fans can have a chance to meet them after the shows!!!
These two men sound better with one guitar and a drum set than most bands do with five or more members. How does Scott Lucas do all that with just one guitar???? They gave it their all and they sounded great! I've always liked Local H's music and now that I've seen them live, I've even more impressed. If you like this band, you HAVE to see them live!
The opening band, Left Brain Heart, was a nice surprise. They sounded a lot like Local H, which strangely came as a surprise since most of the opening bands I've heard lately have not sounded like the band they're supporting. Local H started off the show by having an audience member pick an album out of a hat, then they played "Whatever Happened..." from beginning to end. The music was phenomenal. I am still a little bummed that they only played one song from 12 Angry Months.
These guys rock! Need I say more? With only Scott on lead guitar/vocals and Brian on drums they are one of the rawest form of pure rock n' roll alive today. Yes, I said it, "alive today"!
This show was awesome! I've enjoyed this performance and would recommend it to my friends.
An amazing performance that seemed perfect in every regard. Loved Ham Biscuit.
This 2 man band always puts on a show! Extremely talented and involved with the crowd. Recommended to anyone looking to anyone wanting to get fired up and mosh!
Local H was amazing. It's amazing how well they perform after 20+ years. The acoustics were pretty good, though very loud, unsurprisingly. The opening band wasn't very good in my opinion, but they could have been worse. I'm extremely glad I went.
