About

Local H, the iconic alt-rock duo known for their blistering live shows and unorthodox two-piece setup, are at the top of their game three decades after they first burst onto the music scene. Now, frontman Scott Lucas, who covers both guitar and bass (through an extra pick up in his guitar), and drummer Ryan Harding are gearing up to release their 9th studio album, LIFERS. Local H's first major release was 1995's Ham Fisted, but it was their 1996 follow up album As Good As Dead that positioned the band as one of the elites of 90s rock. The radio hit "Bound For The Floor" emerged as a generational anthem and remains a staple on playlists around the country today. Their widely praised 1998 concept album Pack Up the Cats solidified Local H as a leader in the genre, and the albums that followed reflected not only the band's definitive character, but also their relentless effort to give their audience as much of themselves as possible. The past five years have been some of the busiest of their career. They released their 8th studio album Hey, Killer, numerous EPs and live records, and a series of "Mix Tapes" featuring a surprising mix of cover songs. They've toured almost constantly, with hugely successful tours with the likes of Toadies and Helmet, including performances on Metallica's sold out stadium tour. 2020 will see the band on tour with fellow 90s alt-rock vets Social Asylum in the Spring, and their new album LIFERS will be out April 10 via AntiFragile Music.

The Band that keeps on Giving

by EpicSoulMan on 10/29/21A and R Music Bar - Columbus

The show start off and the usual fashion high energy, loud and damn good entertainment. About halfway through the show most of the crowd noticed a guy acting a little more violently than he should. Scott of Local H stop the show and make sure that this troublemaker left the building. They then proceeded to pick up right where they left off high energy rock and roll. As much as I love Local H the band that open forum Radkey was phenomenal as well. What old school children I don't believe you could have had two better bands in one place it was a fun night and I'm glad I was there to witness it. If you have never seen either of these bands please go see them I guarantee it will be worth your while

Just as good as 25 years ago....

by dc on 6/17/19The Shelter - Detroit

Another great show by Local H. It was a great mix of new and old tracks. Also a nice bit of interaction with the crowd. And some lovely feedback. The Shelter seems a bit small for them, but it's great with me.... ;) P.s. In The Whale was excellent...!

All I can say is incredible. Great two part set. Amazing to hear pack up the cats in its entirety. Not sure how those guys have so much energy.

    Local H amazing show

by itsborken on 10/15/18Riot Room - Kansas City

The intro set was well chosen older songs, then pack up the cats album, and the encore was executed with enthusiasm. Couldn't be happier and well worth the travel.

Local H - The Quintessential Rock and Roll Show

    by Jap9588 on 10/10/18The Masquerade - Atlanta

You will not see a better live show. These guys rock. Every night. Even on a bad night, they kill it. They bring it home. Then they come back on stage and kill it again. You WILL be front row, even if you're in the back. You WILL get involved in the show and find yourself singing along, even if you don't remember who Local H is. You WILL be welcomed by loyal Local H fans, many of which will be happy to share stories from past shows. After the show, you'll get to meet lead singer Scott Lucas, as he'll be selling the merchandise and schmoozing with fans. You'll get to talk with drummer Ryan Harding as he packs away the drums that he just beat the hell out of for over an hour. Genuinely nice people that bring you in, make you a part of the show, but have no qualms about trying to melt your face off with rock and roll. You won't find a better live show.

Local H, as always, was amazing. Loud, in your face, heavy rock! They played 2 full sets and rocked the entire time!

High energy. Amazing how two people can make that sound. Didn't know much about them. Attended half-heartedly. Boy was I surprised!

    Local H never disapoints!

by JoeDoor on 9/10/16Rough Trade NYC - Brooklyn

I have never once seen a bad Local H show out of at least 15! The last 2 shows off the "As Good As Dead 20th anniversary" tour topped them all! Unreal!!

    Amazing as always

by GuyManSir on 8/25/16Masquerade - Atlanta

Local H is just incredible. The tickets are so cheap and yet the show is so good. They played for like 3 hours and were just great. My only complaint (and this goes with virtually all concerts I've seen) is that it's just too loud. I had concert earplugs in, but they unfortunately muffle treble which also made it harder to hear what Scott was saying in between songs. Still an awesome concert, though, and I'm glad I got to see them once again.

    Great Local H tour!

    by Jap9588 on 8/24/16Masquerade - Atlanta

Probably the last show at The Masquerade in Atlanta, and it was awesome. Great crowd that knew the group, great sound from the band AND the venue, and a 3(!) hour set.

    Excellent show with new drummer

by fancybone on 5/3/14Mercury Lounge - New York

Scott seemed happier than he usually is, and his new drummer is great - an excellent show, as is always the case with Local H.

    Local H: always amazing

by Anonymous on 4/27/14Great Scott - Allston

This is probably my 12th Local H show. They are consistently the most passionate and awesome live band I've seen. Scott Lucas always makes sure to bring the rock and give the fans what they want. The new drummer, Ryan, performed even better than I expected and he fills a very tough spot left by Brian St. Clair. Great job, Ryan! This band deserves to be so much more famous than it is. Everytime I turn a friend onto them, they become hooked. I can't wait to see Local H again soon.

These guys - all two of them - know how to put on a show. I was only into one of their albums, but they kept my attention throughout the show with their energy. Their new drummer did not disappoint!

    Hallelujah, I'm a Bum!

by ChefMatt on 2/15/13The Record Bar - Kansas City

Great show as usual from Scott and Brian. I never miss a show when they come to KC. Great new album and the songs play well in a live setting. Local H is a severly underrated band, especially live. The crowd could have been more energetic. They really feed off of the crowd's energy.

    They still rock

    by TRH1963 on 12/16/12Masquerade - Atlanta

Best concert I've seen. Scott is down to earth. After the concert he crowd surfed to the back to sell band t-shirts and cd's. Spent time to talk to fans and sign anything. Music was great. 21 songs, old and off the new cd. Good Stuff. Don't miss them!
