Loathe on Tour

Loathe are back on tour, delivering their against-the-grain, unforgettable experience. Loathe concerts are immersive, whether bathing the audience in smoke and bright lights or giving a voice to repressed rage with a Slipknotian horror mask. Loathe don't just provide music -- they take their audience through the catharsis of an exorcism in exquisite sound, image and detail.

Some fans and reviewers describe Loathe as metalcore, emphasizing their concept-heavy and dynamic style. Loathe songs often travel from ambient synth to heavy metal, from shoegaze to choruses to industrial soundscape. Kadeem France, lead vocalist, alternates from clean melodies to screams.

While others may classify Loathe as metalcore or metal, though, the band doesn't see themselves that way -- at least not exclusively. For instance, in 2021, they released The Things They Believe, an electronic album without vocals, guitar or drums -- the core elements of metal.

The touring band members in Loathe are lead vocalist Kadeem France, guitarist and second vocalist Erik Bickerstaffe, drummer Sean Radcliffe, and bassist Feisal El-Khazragi. Each member contributes to the songwriting in a collaborative process. Band members also have fluid roles when performing, sometimes switching instruments or pitching in with alternative soundtracks.

After releasing their debut album, The Cold Sun, in 2017, Loathe released I Let It In and It Took Everything in 2020 and The Things They Believe in 2021.

Loathe Live in Concert

Loathe are an English band from Liverpool. Before forming as Loathe in 2014, some of the band members played together under the name Our Imbalance.

Band members have mentioned several artists who have influenced Loathe's music. In an interview on Punktastic, members mentioned Deftones, David Lynch, Slipknot, Twin Peaks, and Eraserhead. Bickerstaffe and France shared that they were ecstatic when Chino Moreno of Deftones, one of Loathe's most influential artists, praised their single "Two-Way Mirror."

From their inception, Loathe have drawn from raw, personal feeling. In an interview with Revolver magazine, France noted that, "The first time I screamed into a microphone [...] it felt like freedom." In early shows, France wore the Slipknotian horror mask that would later appear in the artwork on their 2016 extended play, Prepare Consume Proceed

Loathe were nominated for Best New Band at the 2018 Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards and Best UK Breakthrough Band at the 2018 Heavy Music Awards . They also performed live at the Heavy Music Awards in 2019.
