About

+LIVE+ in Concert

The original line-up of LIVE-Ed Kowalczyk (vocals, guitar), Chad Taylor (guitar, backing vocals), Patrick Dahlheimer (bass) and Chad Gracey (drums, percussion) reunited for a worldwide tour including North America in 2017. They are known as one of the most potent alternative rock acts and concert attractions-with their powerful musical dynamics, vocal fervor and questing lyrics.

The year 2017 marked the 25th anniversary of their debut album Mental Jewelry (released December 31, 1991). The multi-platinum band from Pennsylvania have sold over 22 million albums worldwide and earned two number one albums (Throwing Copper, Secret Samadhi). Their catalog is filled with such gems as “Lightning Crashes,” “I Alone,” “All Over You,” and “Lakini’s Juice,” which live on today as classics on rock radio.

The original line-up of LIVE performed their last show in July 2009 before going off in different directions. Rediscovering their friendship has healed old differences, setting the stage for the four members to come together to make music again.

+LIVE+ and BUSH have joined forces for The ALT-IMATE Tour, a high-powered co-headline 2019 summer run with these two iconic acts celebrating the 25th anniversary of their respective landmark albums Throwing Copper and Sixteen Stone. This hits-packed road show will hit arenas and outdoor amphitheaters in 33 cities across the country, kicking off June 6th in Mashantucket, CT with stops in Boston, Los Angeles, Atlanta and more before wrapping September 8th in Rochester, MI at Meadow Brook Amphitheatre.

    Great LIVE Acoustical Show

    by 2002flstc on 10/25/23The Forum - Harrisburg

LIVE was really good with this acoustical show. They did add in some electric and slide guitar on a few songs. One song they stood at the front of the stage and did it all acoustic, that song was great! The Forum is an amazing place to see a musical performance, not a bad seat in the entire house.

    Amazing trip to the past

by camivepe on 10/24/23Lincoln Theatre - Washington

+Live+ is still a current band, Ed's voice is impressive, of course it would be better with the full band, but his voice is needed for you to really be in the nineties listening to their classic albums

Great show from a talented band

by Live at Ocean Casino on 10/24/23Ovation Hall at Ocean Casino Resort - Atlantic City

Live put on a fabulous show. They played most all of their hit songs from the 90s & still know how to rock. Lead singer still has a fantastic voice and hit all the notes. This was one awesome show

    Wow! Wow! Wow!

by Beth on 10/24/23Ovation Hall at Ocean Casino Resort - Atlantic City

My husband and I saw +LIVE+ together in Atlantic City, NJ. We have been together for over 20 years and it was our very first concert together. +LIVE+ did not disappoint! They were absolutely spectacular! Throwing Copper has always been one of our favorite albums. Hearing our favorite songs performed live was just incredible! It was a memory we will always keep near and dear to our hearts! I hope they come around again! If they do, we will be front and center, singing our souls out!

Amazing show from beginning to end. Great energy from the band. Ed’s voice is as strong as ever. They have so many great songs and even ones I didn’t know of rocked. This is one band I make sure to see any time they come to my area.

    Great show

by Meat on 10/23/23The Forum - Harrisburg

This was a smaller, more intimate venue, however, the acoustics weren't that great... I kept hearing the slight echo off the back wall. But the seating and small size of the forum made all the seats close to the show. The venue served a limited menu of refreshments including alcohol, but the prices were the same as the big venues. The band played favorites from all of their albums and played them in different ways so we weren't just listening to their recordings. I enjoyed how they mixed the styles, tempos, etc. making the hits into new songs that were still hits. The band didn't interact with the crowd, much which surprised me since the small venue would have allowed them to be more interactive. And the merchandise sold at the show was a bit generic... and expensive ($40 for a printed Tee). I gave it 4 stars because of the show itself with 1 star removed for everything else. I would buy the tickets again and I would still recommend the band to my friends.

    Ed is a control freak

by Dave S. on 10/22/23Lincoln Theatre - Washington

The only thing "Unplugged"was Ed using an electric acoustic guitar and the bass player. No one but Ed was playing. The sound crew over amplified the hall and the mixture between instruments was way out of balance. They all knew how to play; but, the emphasis on the key bass notes were skipped along with the lead guitar notes. Ed was constantly cutting all the big vocal points down and no one could sing along. They completely butchered "Iris"and turned the last song into some sort of Jesus chant he tried to get the crowd into. It was very awkward.

    Who leaves before Lightning Crashes?

by Kenny on 10/22/23Lincoln Theatre - Washington

We had a good time. Being "old"now, I was glad there wasn't an opening band I didn't know. The concert started on time and ended by 10, leaving me plenty of time to get home to relieve the babysitter and get a good night's sleep. Oh, yeah, and the music was great. I got to hear all my favorites and a few songs I didn't remember. I couldn't believe the couple next to us that left a few songs before Lightning Crashes. I thought this was going to be accoustic, but whatever. My wife and I still had a great date night out listening to the classic rock.

    It’s surprising…

    by C. B. on 10/14/23

Boston, MA: Their sound hasn’t changed much, despite having existed a surplus of 30 years. It’s great, really—it’s still vibrant. And Ed has the same energy—he was bouncing around the stage while constantly trying to interact with the audience. Overall, it was one of my better concert experiences. I’m looking forward to seeing them next year.
