First rave i went to and had hellllllla fun!!!! cant wait for another rave!!!!
Not worth the price, wouldn't go back again. Bad sound and lights.
It was a pretty sick rave, looking forward to next year's too.
When you go to a rave you want to enjoy it with everyone. I was displeased by the number of people who were elbowing and pushing and shoving causing the front of the crowd to be brutal and dangerous. The show was fantastic, awesome techno and good if you want to party your ass off. If you go to a rave, respect and love everyone. Raves are for a good time, not to do whatever the hell you want to do.
Great setlist. Main stage setup was great. Both stages were good. Only bad things were they wouldn't let us keep our water bottle caps when we bought bottles of water, and there were no typical "Raver" stands selling stuff like suckers, vicks, or glow sticks.
So, overall great experience. Great music, was there with great friends had a great time just dancing and vibing out. Sure, line was long a bit long, but there were also several hours of music so no big deal (it was popular nuff said) Food was overpriced (what do you expect) a few guys were out of control (its a rave yo with tons of people what do you expect?) The music was what made it for me, just great. Biased as this was my first HUGE event like this. So there were some not perfect aspects but overall the experience and my memories about it are great! (that being said, overpricing food is lame, although it made for short lines when I bought food...) Note: would recommend to a friend going with a friend who liked to dance and liked music!
I thought that in general it was less sketch than ETD Pop. There is alot of drugs in this scene. The music was great nonetheless.
Steve Aoki and Mstrcraft were very good but towards the end it starting getting weird and just plain boring. wasnt worth it.
Good - Nice line up - Cool venue choice, was packed (in a good way). Hundreds of people on the floor dancing. Bad - Stopped selling alcohol before 9... huh? Which prompted us to browse for ah, other solutions. - Most of the sets seemed kind of half assed, and it could have been more clear who was going on stage when. - Crowd was unbelievably trashy, but what can you expect at this kind of event? Most people were pretty nice though.
I had so much fun at spookfest the other night with my friends. the music was jammin', i danced all night, and everyone was incredibly nice to me! I loved seeing all the crazy costumes people wore, and partying until the wee hours
So everytthing was really good but the music could've been louder. Other than that the entire event was amazing!!
Although I enjoyed myself at the event, I was dissapointed with the quality of the sound system! Given the nature of the event, it is REALLY necessary to have loud & high quality sound and this was lacking! Also, the lights were weak, i would expect more visual stimulation. The line to get in was very long and moved slow & the staff was pretty rude and confiscated everyone's lip gloss, gum, & similar innocent items, while allowing pacifiers?!
I expected a little bit more from the production side...the artists were awesome not enough lights and def not enough sound....but it was good
Missed the band I wanted to see because the line to get in was so long. Will not go to a show at the cow palace again
Spookfest was incredible. All of the artists put on excellent shows (especially Underworld and MSTRKRFT) but it took an outrageous amount of time to get in.
Fun, fun, fun! I loved majority of the performances but I believed that Steve Aoki's set was the best! He made the crowd so energetic and pumped up! DJ shadow and Underworld on the other hand, were very boring. :/ Regardless, Spookfest was so much fun! I can't wait for next year! :D
Cow palace had better ventilation, which was a definite good thing. The music was way better in the beginning and got really weak towards the end. The second room had better music at the end but was way too hot. Overall, not disappointed but definitely not the best.
Simply amazing. The turn out was good, the room was spacious and the experience was unforgettable! Must do it again next year!!!!
While pretty much any rave is awesome, Spookfest was one of the best I've ever attended.
Definitely the highlight of an unforgettable year. Being in good company and in the moment with such an array of timeless artists genuinely exemplifies what the Bay Area's bevy of music can do to change the culture. It was a cluster bomb of young and insane, the destitute and depraved. We entered with smiles on our faces; we left with laughter on our skins. The variety of music and energy could not have been more perfect. Being new to the Bay Area (and California), this was a perfect start to delving further into the music scene. Much love to Spookfest 2010. Forever will you remain in my heart.
