    Awesome!

by Finny on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

Great performance by the entire band. Purely joyful night; a nod to the 60’s and 70’s with an original spin. A show rich in color, sound and full of surprises. The entire band was connecting with the audience and having fun all along the way. Stevie is a master writer, showman and musician. Highly recommended!

    🤔

by Kasslo on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

Great performer loved that part of the show, hated the venue, not enough slope to the seats, couldn’t see a thing including the video screen the balcony overhang was blocking it

    Great Show

Professional performance and a great band. Venue was tough with a lot of obstructed views in back.

    Very entertaining

by Rhonda on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

As a fan of Bruce Springsteen and the E street band I was very intrigued to see Steven on his own. Much to our surprise, my husband and I were amazingly entertained. Despite not knowing any of his songs, we danced all night. I would go see him again in a heartbeat.

    Spectacular

by Bobby G on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

Little Steven gave it his all. The band and especially the “dancers” We’re outstanding. Non stop for 2-2 1/2 hours. A standing ovation to all.

    Dreadful venue

    by j. on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

The music was fantastic. Unfortunately the “theater” is the auditorium of a former high school and the rows of seats are not pitched appropriately for viewing a concert. Could see neither the band nor the projection screens. Guess I’ll have to wait for the dvd to truly experience the concert.

    Great personality and showman

    by k. on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

Didn't know his music. The show exceeded my expectation. Friendly security a pleasure after being threatened at the orpheum theater. They get it at the Chevalier.

    Awesome Show!

by Big Bones Billy on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

I have just seen the history of Rock n Soul and it's name is Little Steven. It's a shame this guy is not more popular, or his music is not in regular rotation on the radio. This is music! A mix of all the great sounds of the 50's and 60' s and 70's rolled into new and fresh material. And his show covered it all. Absolute joyous experience. The only downside is the sound, actually the vocals, were very muffled but did not take away from a fun time. Loved it!

    Outstanding

    by D. B. on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

These guys played for almost three hours and it was balls to the wall the entire show. Unbelievable. Our first time hearing this band and we’re sorry we didn’t know about them before. If they’re in your area, GO!!

    Wow!!

    by EShaps44 on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

First time in the Chevalier--blah theater but oh what a show!! Two and a half hours of pure energy and power from Little Steven and his 14 exceptional musicians. God knows I love the E Street Band but the Disciples of Soul were amazing and Little Steven is one hell of a band leader.

    Great Show and original music

by BobCrowley on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

I have to say I was very impressed with the Little Steven & the Disciples of Soul show. It opened dramatically and kept us rocking (and on our feet) for over two hours. The fourteen musicians onstage - including three backup singers with huge afros and great dance moves - were very able, and the two percussionists worked well together, showing that this was a well-arranged orchestra with plenty of planning and tons of musical expertise. One problem at the Chevalier Theatre: The line arrays were feeding back, and the sound man never seemed to notice. The bass was firm, clear and good, but the high midrange was ringy, too loud for any reasonable definition, and detracted seriously from what otherwise would have been a 9+ rating. I'd have to give it a 7 because I'm tired of soundmen who are apparently not listening to what is going on.

    Better than Bruce

    by A. on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

He's got all the energy of a Springsteen show. Nobody sits at his concerts. Did some Southside, one Bruce song off of Western Stars. HIS BAND IS INCREDIBLE!!! Horns, percussions, etc. Must have been about 15 people back there. And back up sings were hot. Came on at 8 and rocked for three hours straight. I was hoping to hear more from "Men Without Women" but that's OK. Only got one song from that album. But pure hard driving souls and Jersey rock and roll!!!!

    Best band on the Planet

by Jerc on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

To put it simply, anyone who loves music must see this show. Little Steven operates a 15 piece band to perfection. It’s a night to stand and rejoice in this summer of sorcery!!

    An outstanding musical journey

    by DWB22 on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

Little Steven’s love of music, performing and his audience was on full display for 2 1/2 hours straight!!! His celebration of soul delivered by an incredibly tight band left a few people sitting for very short periods of time. One great night for any music lover.

    Small venue

by Kristina on 11/5/19Chevalier Theatre - Medford

Love Little Steven! Such a talented musician. He has a huge band that was too large for the venue. The sound system is mediocre at best, coupled with that much sound in a small theatre just doesn't work.

    Chevallier Theater Review

    by Rex Donovan on 11/4/19

I love Steve Van Zandt. His music catalogue is amazing. He had written so many great songs. It's a crying shame he doesn't know how to construct a good setlist for his concert. Way too much off of the new album, which isn't that good. Almost the whole album is performed at the concert. Not fair to be that self indulgent. Only 3 songs that he wrote for SS Johnny were done, and one was "Little Girl so Fine" which is one of the lamest songs you could ask for when you think of all the great songs that could have been performed in it's place. Also, only one song from the "Men Without Women" album, which, in many opinions, is his masterwork. My wife, daughter and I left the show early as the setlist was that bad. Steve (and Bruce for that matter) need to learn that their new stuff isn't that great and they should think about what would really excite their fans. In Steve's case it is not doing the new album in it's entirety and only one song from their best album ever. In retrospect, I wish the show that I went to was one of the shows that he canceled. He is great, his band is amazing, he simply doesn't know how to craft a good setlist. His new album simply isn't good enough to represent half of the concert.
