  • Lionel was phenomenal!!!!

    by Evey03 on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

It was the best concert ever. He interacted with the audience and was very funny. I am 24 years old and I truely love him and his music. He was amazing and wonderful. His songs were great. He played all my ultimate favorites. The crowd was awesome. I can't wait until he comes back. I was in the first section but a few rows back and I would of wished to be seating on the front row. I went with my mother-in-law and my husband and we all had a great time. I stood up and blew him a kiss and he blew it back to me. He is very amiable . Thank you so much Lionel for coming to Hollywood and I can't wait to see you again in concert.

I work in the industry, so I attend a lot of concerts. This one falls into the forgettable pile. It was really just okay. He managed to sing almost every song he’s known for, some of which he did in almost a medley-like form. So he can legitimately say that he did them all (except Endless Love), but it was very scripted. There was nothing impromptu or “of the moment” about it. I like a little bit of surprise when I see a show. And while his show was very neat and clean, and fit nicely into the hour and a half box, there was nothing special or magic about it. And this is exactly what I and many other concert-goers hope to feel when they see a live performance. Otherwise, they’d just stay at home and listen to the cd for way less money. We’re purchasing the experience, because we more than likely already own the cd. And on this one, I’d like half my money back. Because that’s the kind of experience I received. There were also some sound issues. Some spits, cracks, feedback and moments of white noise. Those items were fine, since that’s all part of the live experience, but what I didn’t like was the way the speakers were actually set up. I noticed that this particular house, the Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, FL, didn’t have sound aimed towards the audience on the sides. It was all shooting past us straight to the back. So the concert wasn’t terribly clear, and had we not known the words already, we would’ve had a difficult time understanding him. All dialogue was pretty much lost.

  • Exactly what you what

Lionel Richie is the ultimate showman , He engages the audience with appropriate banter and makes it fun. His playlist is all His hits plus the Commodores which is what you came to hear. Nothing more ,nothing less. Why is there always some drunk chick in the row in front of you standing the entire show facing away from the stage screaming. They are always at every concert. That aside a great show by a great showman.

  • terrible sound

by stlucie on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

Seminole Hard Rock Casino needs a better sound system............sound was terrible.....even when he spoke you could not understand him....................when he sang and played piano without the band was the best..........

  • Great Performace

I think the show was kind of short (started 30 mns late). it was only 1hr30 but Lionel performance was great. His voice was amazing, just like his records.

  • Richie Rocked!!

by mamasiama on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

OMG what an amazing concert! Ho looks awesome...hasn't aged at all. And his voice is just as good as it was 20 years ago! The only negative was...it wasn't long enough! It truly could have gone All Night Long!!!

  • Lionel Richie

by Slighted on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

I've seen Lionel in concert 3 times now. My first concert ever was in 1977, The Commodores at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh - phenomenal! I've been a Lionel fan ever since. My wife has loved him since she was 10 years old. The last 2 concerts have been disappointing though. Don't get me wrong, Lionel is an extremely talented artist, I've always loved his music over the years, however I felt slighted last night. The concert was supposed to start at 7:30pm, he didn't come on stage until 8:00pm. At 9:15pm he said "Good Night everybody!" Granted, he did perform many of his hits, past and present, but one-third of his songs were shortened versions, maybe 2 - 3 minutes long in some cases. He did come out for 2 oncore songs and that was it. We paid $150 per ticket, I felt he owed us more. My wife and I felt that he really wasn't into it and it was like he needed to get somewhere and the concert was an interruption.

  • Wanted more Lionel

    by 3timesalady on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

I thought he was terrific! Unbelievable voice! I just wanted him to sing all night - seemed like a very short concert!

It was a great concert, should have been at least 1/2 hour longer! Everyone had a super good time. Your ushers are sometime too pushy and not nice to the PAYING customers!

  • True performer

Lionel looks like he hasn't changed one bit in 20 years. Awesome performer with tons of energy... would definitely recommend seeing!

Once again Lionel led an amazing performance. I will never miss a performance of his in South FL.

  • Richie still a Brick House!

by Canegirl on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Lionel Richie put on a a great performance. Had the audience dancing and singing with him All Nite Long!! His stage presense is as good as it was in the 80's. His energy level and voice are still incredible. You didn't want him to stop singing. Wish the concert would have been a little longer, he left out some of his incredible hits.

  • Lionel Richie was a class act!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    by Maggie109 on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Lionel is one of the world's top performer and a real class act. Awesome. He sang some of his best tunes. There were children, old ladies and music for all the ages to enjoy. He is really magnificent.

  • Yes, only because it was Lionel

    by amiga3001 on 12/14/09Hard Rock Live - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

I would recommend seeing him, but maybe somewhere else. Lionel Richie would have been terrific, if you could hear him sing. The band was so loud you could hardly hear him. Don't know if it was the band, the sound system or the acoustics. At times it seemed as if he and the music were out of sinc. Too bad...he's a terrific performer
