About

LILY ALLEN IN CONCERT:

Pop chanteuse and controversy queen Lily Allen has been stirring the pot ever since her debut single "Smile" topped British charts in 2006. While she may have matured as a songwriter, her stunning soulful voice hasn't changed a lick and neither has her risqué attitude -- after a several year hiatus, Allen made a triumphant return to the charts in 2013 with "Hard out Here," a no-punches-pulled critique of the cutthroat world of pop stardom.  Equal parts flirty and brash, the provocative Allen will treat ticket buyers to classics like "F*ck You" alongside newer hits like "Air Balloon" on her latest tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

London-born Lily Allen got an early start in show business, landing several acting roles in childhood thanks to her actor father and producer mother. After a tumultuous youth that saw her attend 13 different schools -- several of which expelled her for smoking and drinking -- Allen was overheard  one day singing Oasis's "Wonderwall" by budding soprano Rachel Santesso, who quickly took Allen under her wing for vocal lessons. In 2005 she signed to Regal Recordings, but due to budgetary constraints she was left to promote her music via Myspace, where early singles like "Smile" and "Alfie" attracted hundreds of thousands of fans. By the time her debut album Alright, Still was released the following year  she already had a substantial following, paving the way for the album's quick rise to No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart. Her next two albums, 2009's It's Not Me, It's You and 2014's Sheezus, both skyrocketed to No. 1 on the British charts, cementing her role as a dominant force in English pop music and paving the way for continued touring.

    Awesome show

by melloe on 9/26/14Terminal 5 - New York

Lily Allen is a true talent! She has a very charismatic stage presence and manages to be charming and funny at the same time. Great voice to boot. I was amazed that she was able to do it all in sick five-inch heels.

She truly was amazing! You could tell that she was having just as much fun as all of her audience. She had a great connection and was just very entertaining!

    Lily Rocks

by JessC1986 on 9/23/14The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

So the Electric Factory is nothing special but Lily Allen is. Even though her stage props and outfit choices were weird, she was completely herself and that's why I love her. The audience sang along to every song.

    Lily Allen is amazing!

by Jewlsie4 on 9/23/14House of Blues Boston - Boston

My sister and I had an amazing time at the show this past Saturday, September 20. My sister had been to a show before to see Miss Allen, but I hadn't it. It met and exceeded my every expectation. She is fabulous live and put on a great show. I already can't wait for her to come back to Boston.

I expect nothing less from my girl...

by Topanga263 on 9/22/14The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

As usual, Lily was great. Gorgeous look, angelic sound, fun/dirty vibe. Just great. A mix of her old and new music (mostly old which I loved) and a few covers in pure Lily awesomeness made for such a fun , upbeat and exciting show. I sang and danced my heart out and completely annoyed much of her younger crowd ;) ...I was sorta surprised at the age of the crowd this time, but it didn't phase me. I was in a zone and loving spending another night with my most favorite, creative and fun artist. Love ya Lily! Xo

    Alright... Still

by ChelC2007 on 9/22/14The Electric Factory - Philadelphia

Despite an amazing band, setlist, and stage - props were awesome, Lily was bored. There are performers who love what they do and others who act like it is a job. She was working. And I realize she was sick or bored, but if her voice was going, why smoke the ciggies? She did nothing to win this concertgoer over. There are better singers, better performers who give you more bang for the buck. I have a hard time out here making my own money, why give it away to someone who could care less.

The location was good and got there at 630 to get in line (perfect time for great parking spot and spot in line). doors opened ontime and preshow started ontime. Lily came onstage ontime as well. she was great. her typical irreverent attitide. great song choice. a few from each CD. loved seeing her.

    Started weak, but gradually improved

by Anonymous on 9/22/14The Tabernacle - Atlanta

Lily Allen took forever to come onstage after the warm-up band finished. When Lily Allen finally did arrive, she appeared to be *distracted*, and made reference to enjoying "a visit from a lady in the early evening", so draw your own conclusions. Initially, we felt she wasn't engaging or respectful to her audience. As the show progressed, Lily Allen got better and the overall quality improved, though she kept taking quick out-of-sight breaks at the end of each song. The songs ranged from old favorites to new tunes, and despite Lily Allen's slow start, we enjoyed it. If her start was better, the whole show would improve dramatically.

The Electric Factory is GA, SRO, which is why I love the venue. Sang along all night long, and Lily was just amazing.

    lily allen is awesome!

by bearkiss on 9/20/14The Tabernacle - Atlanta

yes, she only played 80 minutes... yes she did 2 totally un-necessary cover songs... but she actually sings, has personality, and they show was very entertaining! now let's talk about the tabernacle... 80 seats - yes 80 - we roped off as "reserved" for god knows who... we waited outside in line a few hours before the doors open only to find that the best seats in the balcony were unavailable to us! tabernacle sucks!

    Love Lily Allen

by SmallsATL on 9/20/14The Tabernacle - Atlanta

She has a beautiful voice, and is so fun you want to be her friend. Her show felt intimate like she was in her garage playing for friends. Only wish she could have played every song she ever wrote.. I could have stayed there for it..

    Lily is not a performer

by AndyDM on 9/18/14House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

I've been a fan of Lily's music and satirical lyrics from day one. Seeing her live for the first time was a great disappointment. The sound buried her vocals and her between song comments. The band were average at best and only woke up towards the end. Will not see her again.

Lily puts on an amazing show. Dancers, costume changes, all her hits. She interacts with the audience and tells little stories. It was a lot of fun

    Short but sweet

by MisssKity on 9/17/14House of Blues Houston - Houston

That's about her and the show. I could have used a little more but what I got was greatness. The opening act Samsaya was pretty great too and her drummer is just a little hot. Only issue is about people who don't dress right for a concert and who are in front of me dripping with sweat that I can smell and on second thought, maybe Lily knew I couldn't take much more so she cut the concert short.
