About

LILY ALLEN IN CONCERT:

Pop chanteuse and controversy queen Lily Allen has been stirring the pot ever since her debut single "Smile" topped British charts in 2006. While she may have matured as a songwriter, her stunning soulful voice hasn't changed a lick and neither has her risqué attitude -- after a several year hiatus, Allen made a triumphant return to the charts in 2013 with "Hard out Here," a no-punches-pulled critique of the cutthroat world of pop stardom.  Equal parts flirty and brash, the provocative Allen will treat ticket buyers to classics like "F*ck You" alongside newer hits like "Air Balloon" on her latest tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

London-born Lily Allen got an early start in show business, landing several acting roles in childhood thanks to her actor father and producer mother. After a tumultuous youth that saw her attend 13 different schools -- several of which expelled her for smoking and drinking -- Allen was overheard  one day singing Oasis's "Wonderwall" by budding soprano Rachel Santesso, who quickly took Allen under her wing for vocal lessons. In 2005 she signed to Regal Recordings, but due to budgetary constraints she was left to promote her music via Myspace, where early singles like "Smile" and "Alfie" attracted hundreds of thousands of fans. By the time her debut album Alright, Still was released the following year  she already had a substantial following, paving the way for the album's quick rise to No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart. Her next two albums, 2009's It's Not Me, It's You and 2014's Sheezus, both skyrocketed to No. 1 on the British charts, cementing her role as a dominant force in English pop music and paving the way for continued touring.

Lily was great - S-X, not so much.

by Effen on 10/19/18House of Blues New Orleans presented by Cricket Wireless - New Orleans

Lily was great. Very simplistic set and straight up signing. She had two musicians with her - one on base and one playing something else that controlled multiple sounds. She sounded great and crowd was really into it. Good crowd interaction and she seemed to be really enjoying herself. It felt like she was just having a great time with some friends. I can't say the same about S-X - no band, music out of his laptop, voice box sound - felt like I was watching bad karaoke - same song over and over - I assume he was changing the lyrics, but I lost interest after the first 5 and it just went on and on.

    Lily was EVERYTHING.

by SMarie713 on 10/19/18House of Blues Houston presented by Cricket Wireless - Houston

If you love even a song or two of Lily you need to see her in person. Not only was she entertaining but she was also actually funny and very crowd interactive. Now, she might not be a dancer she still gets the crowd going with her music! A thousand times yes to seeing her. I'm STILL singing songs in my head over a week later. :)

Lily Allen Rocks the French Quarter

by Cosmience on 10/19/18House of Blues New Orleans presented by Cricket Wireless - New Orleans

My wife and I flew in from Big D to see the show. She rocked it! What a GREAT venue! I’ve been to the House of Blues in Dallas dozens of times and I always thought it was great, but the intamacy of the HoB in the French Quarter is fantastic. There are great sight lines from all over the venue. I would highly recommend seeing a show there - and it doesn’t hurt that New Orleans is one of the greatest cities on the planet - food, culture, and history - there’s so much to do and so much is packed into the Quarter. Lily Allen couldn’t have been more adorable. She’s a great live performer!

She has the voice of an angel

by CatMorrison on 10/17/18House of Blues Dallas presented by Cricket Wireless - Dallas

Brought my 10 year old daughter, Celeste, to her first concert ever, and she loved it and even got her picture taken with Lily. I have listened to Lily since '07, but hadn't heard her newest until the show. We bought her CD, No Shame, and have been listening to it nonstop. It's so good! I can personally relate to her lyrics. I love that we got to meet her!

Pitch perfect, totally feels the music in and through her body, and this doubles her hotness. I wish I could a member of her band.

by dusek9210 on 10/16/18House of Blues Houston presented by Cricket Wireless - Houston

I loved Lily Allen. She could have had more stage props... but she rocked the show.... The guy that opened the show, was horrible...From a musicians stand point...that's the easiest way to make yourself look better...

    Almost Great

by alicat081828 on 10/16/18House of Blues Houston presented by Cricket Wireless - Houston

It was great till the end when she got political and bashed a couple of presidents. I'm just not a fan of musicians talking about politics at a concert.

Lily is as real and honest as ever!

by MarkolianDeathlock on 10/10/18Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

This was my first time seeing her live. I kind of fell off the Lily train after the second album. Nothing that had to do with her. I listen to all kinds of music and other artists had my attention at the time. Anyway, I saw that she was coming to town a couple months before the show, so I bought tickets and got caught up on the two albums I had missed. Sheezus and No Shame. I saw that she hadn't been playing any of the Sheezus album, which was fine by me. I really didn't connect much with that one as much as all the others. By the time the show came around, I had listened to No Shame at least 20 times and was over half way through her new book, My Thoughts Exactly. I love the new album. It is so real and honest. She has shown how she has her history of questionable decisions and sometimes learned the hard way. She has owned up to them and shares her human experience, her emotions and what she is learning as she navigates through life. I love that she wanted to share all of that with her fans. She performed most of the entire album and 4 songs each from the first two albums, one cover and one brand new song she had just written in the last few weeks. She is just so humble and honest on stage that the few small mistakes she made with lyrics and timing were completely forgivable. I went with my adult nephew and two other friends. We all enjoyed the show and talked alot about how cute Lily is and how much we loved the show. I really felt as if I was watching a friend up there sharing her thoughts with all of us. It was also a bonus to have been through most of her book to see where her inspiration was coming from for this new album. I can't wait for the next. Love you Lily!!

    LAME!

    by estela86 on 10/9/18Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Stars for venue! No stars for show, Lily Allen. The concert started late, she forgot the lyrics, she brought up her political views … has nothing to do with her music so why even bring it up... NO entertainment from that!
