LIL BOOSIE IN CONCERT:

Following his early release from a drug-related prison sentence in 2014, Lil Boosie headed straight to the studio to begin work on a new album, his first since 2010's Incarcerated reached the Top 10 while he was, well, incarcerated. Known as the "Tupac of the South," the southern rapper is no stranger to controversy, but his dedicated fans have been unwavering in their support, launching a formidable "Free Boosie" campaign while he was behind bars . Eschewing the got-it-flaunt-it mantra of mainstream rap in favor of cold hard look at the struggle of life, Boosie is nothing if not real, and fans of telling it like it is are ecstatic for his return to the stage in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in a rough-and-tumble neighborhood of Baton Rouge, Lil Boosie received his nickname from his parents, both fans of '70s funk icon Bootsy Collins. After cutting his teeth as a member of rap group Concentration Camp in his early teens, Boosie made his solo debut in 2000 with Youngest of Da Camp, recorded when he was just 17. The album was an underground hit, earning him regional recognition and paving the way for the success of 2006's Bad Azz, which peaked at No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart. Following an arrest for drug charges in 2008, Boosie's next two albums both reached the Top 10 while he was serving time, earning him comparisons to Tupac. Riding high after his early release from prison, Boosie thrilled ticket buyers with the announcement of tour dates in 2014.

It was horrible. More than half of the artist didn’t perform. The even was cut short. It didn’t start on time. Total waste of hard earned money.

I was very disappointed with the show. Lil Boosie only performed like two songs and it was shut down. The event was shut down due to security could not have control of the whole event. There was over 100 people on stage when Lol boosie was performing, I was very disappointed because we really didn’t get to see lil boosie because there was too much ruckus on the stage due to the security could not or would not get everyone off the stage when they was asked to. The security was just standing around and doing nothing so that’s the reason why the show got cut short. It would be nice if I could get a refund.

I have been to several shows with him. He is my fav! The show was short and there was no order to it. Webbie was ready tho. Dallas is a big fan base for Boosie but he was not his normal.

    Scratch the local artists!

by Nachoylindsey on 1/26/18Uptown Theater - Kansas City

This concert was soooooooo much fun. I had a great time with my girls, the only downfall of the event was the amount of local artists that were given a chance to preform before boosie. I honestly did not want to stay so long. I thought Boosie would be out around 9 not almost 10:30 when the event starts at 8. Great venue! one of my favorite venues in Kansas city, good event, no drama, everyone kept it under control, and boosie did a hell of a job preforming every song that the crowd wanted to hear! Will definately go back again to see him - but arrive later in order to miss the local artist bs that was being played.

Enjoyed the way opportunity was given to local rap artists to perform as well as other DJs.

    Waste of time & money

by EllieX09 on 8/28/17Ball State University - Muncie

I love Boosie's music but I will never pay for another concert. We waited 3 hours for him to arrive. Once he finally showed up he was only on stage for 10 mins and didn't even perform a full a song. I was very disappointed and would not recommend anyone else to waste their money on him either. It was definitely more of an appearance than a concert.

The show started over a hour late. The local artist performed most of the show. One of the local artists performed 1 song about 3 times because his music was skipping. The host was stalling for Shy Glizzy to come out for over 45 mins, while the stage was full of his supporters (friends) just standing on the stage while we waited. His performance was awesome but he had at least 20 people just standing on the stage while he performed. Since Shy Glizzy was late, they were rushing Boosie through his "performances" and he did not perform not ONE full song. I loveeee Boosie but he performed less than anyone in his OWN show.

    Unforgettable

by Nika198072 on 8/9/16Royal Farms Arena (formerly Baltimore Arena) - Baltimore

Had a ball when Lil Boosie and shy glizzy came out. Wish they were on a little bit longer but other than that loved the concerts. The local artist was on way too long and wasn't interesting in my book.

    Unorganized!

by SydneyMarie on 8/9/16Royal Farms Arena (formerly Baltimore Arena) - Baltimore

The actual venue was nice and the bathrooms were clean. The biggest complaint I have was the show was supposed to start at 7 and Shy Glizzy didn't come on until about 9:45 pm. It was some other artists taking up time in the way. No one stayed in their seat so I paid $150 and ended up having to stand on a chair to even see the stage. The actual performances were good but could've definitely performed more songs. I would recommend this place, very clean and easy to get in and out.
