The Who's Tommy a KNOCKOUT PERFORMANCE!!!

by Christoher's Mom on 1/20/20Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

Remember Jones' full album performance of Tommy is nothing short of amazing. The stage, lights, effects are stellar but what stands out is the sheer brilliance of the musicians performing with passion, heart and soul. As a die-hard Who fan who saw the original band, all its post-Moon iterations, the Tommy Movie, The Kids are Alright and Tommy on Broadway, I can without a doubt that this was the best stage performance of the original rock opera of all time. Bravo to the band and a big thank you for volunteering your amazing talent to help others. It was spectacular. If you can get tickets to a show, go. You will be so happy you did it!!!

    Bob's B-day Bash

by Steve V. on 1/22/19Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

Really good show with really good line-up. Willie Nile gets headliner as Joe Gryshecki had to borrow musicians due to weather in Pittsburgh. Willie was great and really took advantage of main act status. Forbert, John Eddie, Low Cut Connie and Jessie Malin all had real nice sets in the time slots alloted. Great night out for a great cause. **** out of *****stars.

Made a special trip and glad we did. We love listening to local musicians wherever we travel and AP has some of the best. Great crowd of party animals, every one was so friendly that we hated to leave. Long live Rock. Peace and Love to all. Thanks for the music.

    Such a great show!

by L. M. on 1/21/19The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

I came into this just trying to see The Ventures. I didn't know anything about the Light of Day Foundation, other than it's about Parkinson's and was obviously named for the Michael J. Fox/Joan Jett movie. Even though The Ventures Facebook page had an event that said they were at the Stone Pony 1/18/19, the Ticketmaster page for this event didn't have a lineup for the night at all. Turns out there were a lot of other great bands. I later found the lineup in the LOD event, but it was like pulling teeth for a while and I almost gave up and didn't buy tickets because really, I just wanted to see The Ventures. However, after seeing the hard copy of the program, I see why. This is a 10-day festival encompassing multiple venues in NJ, NY and PA, so no biggie in the end. It was a lot of fun!

    Six Hours of Awesomeness!

by JRZYGRL on 1/16/18Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

The LOD show at the Paramount always rocks and this year was no exception. All of the artists were entertaining and each of them was a stand out in their own way. My favorites were Willie Nile, Jeffrey Gaines, LaBamba with special guests (Gary US Bonds!) and James Maddock. Remember Jones astounds with their variety of styles and stage presence. Lots of the acoustic artists were great although I can’t remember all of their names. I was in the lower balcony which was a great place to see it all. Light of Day is the best music festival and all the proceeds go to finding a cure for Parkinson’s, ALS, and related diseases. Feel good music with a cause!

Another Great Marc Ribler and Friends Show

by TRGrog on 1/10/18The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

With his success as part of Little Steven's Disciples of Soul, Ribler is not in the area as often so you have to catch him whenever he shows up on a bill. His George Harrison birthday show was phenomenal as usual. Harrison has a great catalog of songs and Marc and his friends killed it. Many highlights including Here Comes the Sun, Wah Wah, My Sweet Lord, Isn't it a Pity, and my favorite While My Guitar Gently Weeps. They are doing the show again at The Cutting Room in NYC in February. It's a must go.

    7 1/2 Hours to Rock!

by JRZYGRL on 1/19/16Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

I love Light of Day because I experience so many musicians who share their work for a cause. The Paramount big event is always special because there are seasoned performers as well as newbies and everyone in between. The energy and love that fill the theatre is a great vibe to soak in and singing Happy Birthday to Bob Benjamin is a tradition that I hope will continue long after we finally kick Parkinson's ass!

    Best One Yet!!

by Snarkyboy on 1/20/15Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

Bruce... Always entertaining never boring. But on this night for some strange reason he was walking down the aisle in the dark to go backstage. So I got to meet him... For 3 seconds. What are the odds? See you next year!! Second favorite moment was when I got into a bidding war with some woman on the silent auction and drove the time limit price on a Bruce photo more than double for the Parkinson's charity! She overpaid more than double .... Hundreds of dollars. LOL! Enjoy!!

    Bruce At His Best

by Snarkyboy on 1/21/14Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

Oh my what a night. Bruce gave it 110% and he looked like he enjoyed every minute of it. Worth the price of admission and for a great cause too. A WIN-WIN situation!

    dave mason reinvented

by remgem on 1/20/14Paramount Theatre - Asbury Park

Dave Mason brought a 4 piece band to the Paramount and he played all of the old traffic hits with a new jazzy twist to most of them. After a photo montage of the original band.he started with 40,000 headmen. The band was tight and Dave's voice was in good form. He also played some lead guitar on Pearly Queen and Watchtower, as well as a 12 string acoustic. Marc Mueller's Dead on Live opened witha strong set of dead covers with a six and sometimes seven piece band.
