About

The Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl is an annual postseason college football game in Nashville, Tennessee. On December 29, 1998, the first Music City Bowl kicked off at Vanderbilt Stadium as a new, traditional matchup between teams in the Southeastern Conference (SEC) and the Big East Conference. The SEC-Big East pairing lasted until the Big Ten Conference replaced the latter in 2002, only to be swapped for the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) in 2006. Becoming a loosely determined matchup between members of the SEC, ACC and Big Ten in 2014, the Music City Bowl later settled into a fixed faceoff between the SEC and Big Ten from 2020 to 2025. Under previous sponsors, the game has been called the TransPerfect Music City Bowl, Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl and more, but it was officially renamed the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl starting in 2025. With the exception of the canceled 2020 game, the Music City Bowl has been hosted every year at Nashville’s Nissan Stadium since 1999. In 2025, the Liberty Mutual Music City Bowl game will be played on December 30.

  • Love the Music City Bowl

by Lisa on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Music City Bowl set up never disappoints. Easy parking and access to stadium along with friendly staff at all positions, wide concourses, good security, excellent seats (chosen but still awesome first level), great organization of game and activities. Minus the incompetency of the officiating which was quite embarrassing to all (not sure if the Bowl committee actually has a say in this, but ruined a good time), the Bowl set-up was excellent. Thank you!

  • Over Priced and Terrible App

    by Q on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

The fee was excessive (50% of the price of the ticket) and applied to all tickets bought even though Ticketmaster's cost for additional tickets is minimal. Also, the app is poor at best. Once I clicked the sign in button all I got was a black screen. I saw on other people's reviews that it is not unique to me. I will hesitate to go to an event if Ticketmaster is involved.

  • Sucked

Had a guy sitting besidee smoking a vape cigarette. Texted for nissan stadium help but no one ever showed up. Ended up leaving the game early because of the problem

  • Wow!

by Joan on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was the most exciting bowl game we have attended! The venue was great and easy to get to. Ticketmaster sent many reminders and the the overall process was a breeze!

  • Disappointed

by Teachereba on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Love Nashville. Love going to a concert after the game. The game was too expensive to start with. The Music City Bowl we’re happy to take advantage of Tennessee fans because they know we would show up. But, to lose because of questionable calls and unfair officials was very disappointing. If we lose the game, we lose the game. But to lose it the way it happened was inexcusable.

  • Not that great

by Swag on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Great game between the two teams. Problems with the game: Tickets too expensive No merch cups announcers were bad refs were even worse Field painting was pathetic Not a good start for the sponser Come on, kick it up and make it a worth the money experience. Not going next year due to these issues this year

  • Music City Bowl Fun

by Josh on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Went to the Music City Bowl and took 8 others for Christmas/ birthday. It was one of the best Bowl games this season. Even in the upper level the view was great. Will definitely go to this event again.

  • Best Bowl Game

    by John S on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

This was the best bowl game of the 2021 - 2022 season. The venue was cool and the game was fire. TN fans might have hated the outcome (heck, they’ll blame the refs). But, it was a great game to witness live - of that we can all agree.

  • Great stadium, fun game, abysmal officiating

by Nashville native on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Loved the stadium. The seats were easy to find, and clean. The food and drink options were phenomenal. The game itself was great. Both teams played their hearts out, and it was incredibly fun to watch. The officials were terrible. Not biased, but just bad. This is evidenced not only by the news articles following the game, but also the fact this same crew had been previously suspended for messing up big time in an ACC game between Miami and Duke. Why we let them go to our bowl and make college football and the town look bad, I’ll never know.

  • Fun day in Music City

    by Volfan2 on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Had a great time at the bowl game and the weather was incredible for December. Nashville is a fun city to visit!! Fortunately bought my tickets way early before teams were announced and wasn’t subjected to the crazy “dynamic pricing” model which I do not like. Two or three points of needed improvement …1. .the field conditions were less than ideal and the end zones looked a mess from painting. 2. Needs bowl themed customized concessions containers instead using Titans ones. 3. The PA announcer was over the top and was distracting from the game. 4. Would have loved more pregame involvement by the 2 school bands instead of filling the field with little league players from local leagues. Do that at the Titans games. Minor things to make it better!!

  • Great venue!

    by B on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The entry into the game was so easy using the mobile app, venue was very nice and clean.

  • Sloppy

by Rev on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 2 out of 5

Most everything was cancelled before the lead up to the game. Stadium was okay. Food was okay. Field was sloppy with players from both teams slipping way to much. Not much for families to do. Will not be back.

  • Music City Bowl experience

by John on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Very disappointed in the amount of merchandise not available. Was hoping to get a MCB football like in previous years but it was not available. Girl who sang God Bless America did a great job but there was too much time in between her song and the National Anthem. This didn’t appear to be organized very well…people were still standing after the first song waiting for the next one to begin. Finally, the officials were terrible. This crew was suspended for 2 ACC games earlier for making terrible calls as well. Seems whoever is in charge of getting the officials needs to do a better job of researching..Fan support for both teams was good…

  • Bowl game

    by Tinkerbo011 on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We enjoyed the experience at the stadium very much.

  • Embarrassing Officiating

by JDavis on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

Game officials were embarrassing to college football. They were paid way too much for the performance they gave.

  • Easy to purchase, easy to use

by Simpyc on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The buying process was very easy. The site was super busy which made it take a bit longer. Overall experience was great!

  • Venue have been better

    by Robinb315 on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 4 out of 5

Sitting on 2nd row from field it was challenging to go up for food and the restroom as people were blocking the stairs. Ushers should have kept them clear. There were slices of tomato and containers under the seats from a previous event. Not impressed with Nissan Stadium for this event.

  • No staff to help with seats

by Accrefstrash on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 3 out of 5

First I couldn’t collect my souvenir ticket because they didn’t have them, so I’m wondering why ticket master sold them,

  • Music City Mayhem

    by T. S. on 1/2/22Nissan Stadium - NashvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Great bowl game match up between UT and Purdue. The game and atmosphere was loud and it was the best bowl game this year in my opinion. My only complaint was the officiating was terrible for such a great game. The game should be decided by the players not the referee’s. Hope to watch a replay in of the event to see the game again. Nashville should be proud to have hosted such a terrific game. It was awesome!!!
