About

Two-time Grammy award winning comedian/actor/writer Lewis Black uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and finger pointing to expose the absurdities of life. His comedic brilliance makes people laugh at life's hypocrisies and the insanity he sees in the world. He has performed throughout the world and the US, where he performed at Carnegie Hall and had two successful Broadway runs.

His latest stand-up special, Tragically, I Need You, released earlier this year and has already surpassed 1.3 million views on YouTube. The brand-new special explores topics including his ways of coping with the pandemic, his frustrations with the evolving world, and of course his thoughts about the chaos of America these last few years.

Adding a unique element to podcasting, Black delivers audience-written Rants which have been submitted from fans around the world on his podcast, Rant Cast.

Black is the longest-running contributor on Comedy Central's THE DAILY SHOW and his stand-up specials have appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime, and Epix.

In 2020, he released Thanks for Risking Your Life. In 2015, Black notably voiced the character "Anger" in the Pixar Academy Award-winning film, Inside Out. His other notable films include Universal's Accepted co-starring Jonah Hill, Blake Lively and Justin Long, and also Man Of The Year opposite Robin Williams, Christopher Walken, Laura Linney, and Jeff Goldblum.

The comedian has released eight critically acclaimed comedy albums including the 2007 Grammy Award-Winner, The Carnegie Hall Performance. He won his second Grammy in 2011 for his album, Stark Raving Black, and has a total of 6 Grammys nominations. He has published three bestsellers: Nothing's Sacred (Simon & Schuster, 2005), Me of Little Faith (Riverhead Books, 2008) and I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas (Riverhead Books, 2010).

A published playwright, he's written over 40 plays and has found his work performed throughout the country, including at the A.C.T. Theatre, the Magic Theatre, The Williamstown Theatre Festival, and The Public Theatre.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Lewis is dedicated to a number of charitable organizations including the Luv U Project, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and The 52nd Street Project.

He's also deeply committed to supporting our troops. A seasoned USO tour veteran, he's performed for the troops on three Christmas tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Lewis is currently on his 2023 Off The Rails Tour. For dates and more info go-to: www.Lewisblack.com.

    Old School Comedy

by Craig on 1/30/24Silver Legacy Casino Reno - Reno

Lewis Black put on a great show poking fun at current events he had us laughing and it was a great evening. Unfortunately there were some in the audience that take life to seriously and felt a need to interrupt the show but they were quickly put in their place by the crowd and Lewis continued to entertain. Highly recommend seeing him if you can.

    Lewis Black - Awesome

by cmhorg on 1/26/24City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

What a great evening of laughter. Lewis Black was incredible. Insightful. Thought provoking. Interesting. Hilarious. And damn funny! Happy to have been able to attend his farewell tour; if he does another one, we'll attend that one too! Thank you Lewis Black for your incredible humor. The Grove at Anaheim...It would be nice if you took one chair out of each row (each side of the aisle); if you are even average size you are likely very cozy with a stranger...otherwise, the venue was great!

I was amazed the variety of the age group, which was very young to older. Lewis was very relatable and funny! No wonder he’s such a success!

show was good venue was noisy

by Rick on 1/23/24City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Lewis was very good and funny ... my complaint is the distraction of the show... this was to me, the staff ... It was a cold rainy night and yet they had the rear door open with staff watching ... I do not know why perhaps a ventilation issue ... but it was cold and noisy and nnt far from my aisle seats

    He Was At His Best

by frank on 1/23/24City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Mr. Black was spot on! Everything topic he explored he stuck them perfectly. A memorable experience that was a perfect send off for his career. He had a respiratory bug but it didn't slow him down. He didn't miss a step and had the audience totally engaged.

    Lewis was on Fire!

by Best Black Show Yet! on 1/23/24City National Grove of Anaheim - Anaheim

Saw Lewis Black at the Grove in Anaheim, CA on Saturday, January 20 - with a Monster Truck event at Angels' Stadium and C/W concert at Honda Center, we chose Lewis Black (and would every time!). This is probably the 4th or 5th time we've seen him, and this most recent show was probably the best one yet. Even thought he wasn't feeling that great, his energy level, cursing, and general irritation with everything was fantastic - the crowd was howling. Highly recommend if you're looking for an evening of laugh out loud comedy (and are of a certain political persuasion).

I've enjoyed Louis Black's work for years, and he was at his absolute best on Saturday night - his show was absolutely spectacular - he is so brilliant, so insightful, so engaged, we totally loved every minute of his performance! We also enjoyed Jeff Stillson - I had seen specials of his before, and he was wonderful!

Few laughs sorry I spent the money

by Bored on 12/17/23Duke Energy Center for the Arts - Mahaffey Theater - St Petersburg

Opening guy wasn't funny at all. And Mr Black needs something new. Enjoyed his rhetoric about Florida but that's about it.
