LESS THAN JAKE IN CONCERT:
There are those who say that ska is dead, and then there are those who have been to a Less Than Jake show recently. The ska punk favorites prove the genre is alive and kicking every time they take the stage, flooring fans with high-octane performances of their melodic, brass-heavy tunes. From the charging drums and distorted guitars of "She's Gonna Break Soon" to the horn-filled chorus of "All My Best Friends Are Metalheads", Less Than Jake deliver a skank-worthy concert experience that's sure to satisfy diehard fans and newbies alike.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Less Than Jake formed in Gainesville, FL in 1992 and quickly built a local following with their fast-paced live shows and early seven-inch singles. They released their debut album Pezcore in 1995, then signed with Capitol Records the following year for their sophomore album Losing Streak. The record charted in the UK and was an underground hit in the US, leading to shows with Guttermouth and The Descendents as well as a stint on the 1997 Vans Warped Tour. The band's success continued in 1998 with their third album Hello Rockview, which scored them a Top 40 hit on the US Modern Rock Tracks chart with the song "History of a Boring Town". Since then the band has released five more acclaimed albums including 2003's wildly popular Anthem, which they supported on tour with Fall Out Boy and another stretch on the Vans Warped Tour. In 2013 the band released their eighth album See the Light, a stellar collection of upbeat ska punk tunes that has ticket buyers eagerly awaiting their upcoming tour dates, looking for a repeat of venues sold out to capacity, like House of Blues (San Diego), from the band's previous run.
Musically still tight after all these years! Would see them over and over again…
Less Than Jake definitely rocked out! They put on a great show. My boyfriend and I were able to stand super close to the stage and got some great photos! Also, security was behind us, so we did not end up in the circle pit. It was a great show! I cannot wait for the next one! Also, Less Than Jake's merch guy was an animal! He totally deserves a raise! He worked his butt off!
Less than jake is beyond amazing this is the 2nd show I went to of theirs and they amaze me each time... Me and my fiance had a blast even bought 4 shirts a license plate cover and a poster
This was more than a concert, it was an experience! I genuinely think they got better with age. I pray they come back to Charleston area again soon, I won't miss it!
Less than Jake rocked out Jannus Live. Enjoyed the show and music. Definitely worth seeing in concert
Had such an incredible date night with my girlfriend seeing Less than Jake at Jannus in Saint Petersburg. I have been listening to them since high school - 2001 and this tour was for one of my favorite albums of theirs. Hello Rockview. They played the entire album then some of their all time hits. Every time I have seen them (several times at Warped Tour) they are always entertaining and sound great. I went in with high expectations and last Friday night did not disappoint. I will always continue to get tickets and see them when they come by locally. The first two bands Raging Nathans and Strung Out were great as well.
Strung Out played great as always but the sound at Jannus seems to get worse and worse each time I go. Everything is just muffled and off balance. A few people I was with said the same thing. Anyway, I left before Strung Out even finished their set. Total bummer.
Less Than Jake is a fun time, ALWAYS! Third concert I've been to in 20 years, and they haven't missed a beat. Same energy and happy tunes.
Awesome show, Awesome crowd, Awesome venue!!!!!!!!!
These guys are the best. Great songs, great energy, great sense of humor. I'll be seeing them again definitely.
Less Than Jake has been bringing it for decades now. I’ve seen these guys dozens of times and even after all these years they still have one of the most energetic and fun live shows around. If you’re a fan of ska and punk rock, catch them live sometime. You won’t be disappointed!
Sounded great, felt like a very unLA show since people were dancing and having a blast. Toasters were equally as fun!
Less than Jake is the best live band I have ever seen. They sound amazing live, their interaction with the crowd is awesome. There is a reason they have been doing this for 31 years. They rock it.
This was my 12th time seeing Less Than Jake and why I keep coming back is the energy and the show they put on. This was special to see Hello Rockview played start to finish. If you ever get the chance to see them, you should take the opportunity!
It's been quite a few years since I've seen LTJ or The Toasters. And this time my wife and I brought the next generation (our 3 teenagers.) A fun time was had by all, but especially during LTJ. They brought the energy and had everyone dancing.
The concert was outstanding! The venue is cool looking with amazing acoustics. When the bands were singing, you could understand them, even over the crowd. All three bands were fantastic. As usual, Less Than Jake, rocked the venue!
Less Than Jake NEVER disappoints. Their energy, excitement and passion is on display every single night. Such an incredibly fun night!
LTJ put on one of the best shows I've seen. Brought me back to 1998 and my senior year in highschool! Loved every minute!
What an absolute amazing show! It felt like one big reunion, the crowd knew every word to every song and it just felt like it was 1998!
They Less Than Jake crew was phenomenal and the venue was fantastic as always!
