About

LERA LYNN IN CONCERT:

Americana songstress Lera Lynn amassed a cult following over the course of seven years before she caught her big break in 2015 after performing her noir-tinged folk ballads on several episodes of HBO's crime drama True Detective. Fans will instantly recognize the haunting melodies and stark guitar work of series standouts like "The Only Thing Worth Fighting For" and "My Least Favorite Life" as the singer recaptures their heartbreaking sentiment in concert. Lynn excels at melancholy tunes, but she's equally impressive on uptempo indie rock gems like "Shapeshifter" and twangy country favorites like "Out to Sea." Whether ticket buyers are there to have a blast with her rollicking ditties or experience the gut-wrenching sounds she debuted on True Detective, they'll find plenty to love at Lera Lynn's dynamic concerts.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Though she played music as a teenager, Lera Lynn didn't seriously pursue songcraft until she graduated the University of Georgia in 2008. After a few years of local gigging in Athens, GA, she self-produced her 2011 debut Have You Met Lera Lynn? Her 2014 sophomore album The Avenues brought more notoriety, especially after she performed "Out to Sea" on The Late Show with David Letterman later that year. T Bone Burnett, the music supervisor for HBO crime drama True Detective, was impressed and began collaborating with Lynn and songwriter Roseanne Cash to produce four songs for the series. Lynn also performed the songs in five episodes, and the increased visibility helped her launch a headlining tour the following year. Things are definitely looking up for Lera Lynn as she continues to impress with her versatile live shows and increasingly accomplished recorded output, which includes 2016's Resistor.

Always a great time when Lera is in town. Wish she was in STL more often. Highly recommend seeing a show when you have a chance.

  • Lera Lynn is one of the best singers out there

Do not pass up the chance to see Lera Lynn. Her voice is sweet as honey. Her music is Nashville rock with all sorts of interesting hooks. Her band is phenomenal. From full two guitars, bass, and drums to the 4-person a capella, it was astounding. You are not likely to see her in small venues for long. Rockin'!

Lera Lynn and her band played lots of songs from her new album RESISTOR and also included some unexpected cover songs that just had the whole crowd totally engaged. Her writing, her voice and her guitar style often have you feeling dreamy with scenes that might come from a film noir movie forming in your head. That skill earned Lera a role on True Detective on HBO but Lera never uses her TV success as a way to call attention to herself. She is a fiercely independent artist resisting the tempations of the big labels and I, for one, love her for that.

  • Combs and Lynn superb

First: Andrew Combs performed a terrific opening set. Great songwriter and excellent voice. Lera Lynn and band were mesmerizing. She has a sultry, silky voice with power when needed. Wonderful stage presence. Catch them both live and check out their albums. Enjoyed meeting both artists after the show and having them autograph vinyl.

  • Musical journey

Ranging from soft, sullen, sultry to nearly psychedelic and fully rocking out, this show topped all other performances by Lera that I've attended over the years. There was incredible build-up within each song and also throughout the progression of the set. Lera's voice was magical, as always. I never saw her look so comfortable and enjoy a show as much as this one. Can't wait to see Lera again and she is a real dear - genuine, sweet, gorgeous, and badass.
