    The Ultimate Unexpected

by closetgroupie on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

Never having heard Leonard Cohn live, I didn't know what to expect from this 78 year old, who never really captivated me, in the 60's and 70's. Exhausted from an all day educational conference, i was wondering whether or not i even would be able to stay awake for the whole evening. Almost immediately, though, I knew i was part of something truly special. The atmosphere in the theater was that of a small venue, despite the vast space of radio city. Cohen's improbable energy, poetry, and voice range, for the 3 1/2 hour concert, was matched by his obvious respect, and enjoyment of his support musicians, each an amazing contributer in his/her own right. Despite the large audience, every word was understandable. In fact, the intense attention of the group is almost unheard of at such a concert. I could have listened all night long. Where is he performing next?!

    An amazing concert

by 733th on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

I am from Brazil and after having made the arrangements for a trip to NYC in this spring, I started looking for a cultural program to add to my travel agenda and, when I read that there would have a LC concert in early April, I did not hesitate and changed the travel dates so that I could attend that show. And I do no regret. Going to LC concert was a smart decision. I will never forget how nice it was to have been there.

    Vintage Hip

by Palladio on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

Leonard Cohen might be an acquired taste, but once you listen closely to his songs you will become a fan. They might be darkly delivered but are actually full of lyrics of love and longing. It would be nice to have a change in tempo occasionally, but he is who he is. The band is an eclectic mix of instraments all played by virtuoso and the back up singers sound like angles, a nice contrast to Cohen's deep monotone. The overall performance was mesmerizing.

    Leonard Cohen

by DLC106 on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

At age 78, he was truly amazing. Better than Radio City, 2009. Everything about the show was first rate....sound, lighting, musicians and back up singers.

    Evening with Leonard Cohen

by Ivolama on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

I have seen 15 concerts by Leonard lately . Each of them was perfect, was a major spiritual experience. Each of them is a little different depending on public, concert hall, country city. Leonard is always 100% performing as well as his band. Radio City was especially excellent as it is the right environment for him. I like it better than sports arenas. Thank You Leonard for giving us these beautiful events

by LBB2000 on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

I know about Leonard Cohen and some of his songs through my husband, he is a big fan so I got him tickets as a Birthday present. He obviously had a great time, but let me tell you that I was really impressed with Leonard's voice, show and great personality, I'm a big fan now! We both had a great time!!

An incredible night at Radio City

by EnglishmanInNYC on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

Our first time at Radio City where we haven't been on the lowest level. This time we were up in the heavens (Mezzanine 3) and the view was spectacular. I can't believe there were moves to demolish this amazing building in the 70s. As for the concert it went on for nearly four hours but felt more like two-and-a-half. Leonard's voice has got better and better as he's got older and the group of musicians and backing singers he'd assembled were all virtuosos in their own right. Quite transfixing and a great way to spend a Sunday evening.

As he promised, he gave us everything he had.

by Nachshon on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

This was the second time I saw Leonard Cohen and although, as he said at the beginning of the show, we don't know when we'll be together again, I hope it's soon and often. With so many of today's shows limited to 90 minutes, Leonard's 3 1/2 hours was, indeed, a gift of love. And the audience loved him back. Each of the musicians could have their own show. And "backup" hardly does justice to the singers, in particular Sharon Robinson. She's now on my IPod. Cohen thanked the lighting and staging staff and appropriately so as the overall presentation was truly artistic. I look forward to the next time we all get together.

    Leonard Cohen was legendary

by IssyBee on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

Leonard Cohen played for over 3 hours and every minute was wonderful. He was wry, humble and funny. He surrounded himself with wonderfully gifted musicians and allowed each of them to shine. He recited some poetry that was poignant and lent itself to the feeling that we were not in Radio City Music Hall but in an intimate club. By the end of the gig he made us all feel we were his friends.

    Leonard Cohen going strong

by Chasman89 on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

3-1/2 hours of unparallelled poetry and grace from a man who is pushing 79 yrs old! Most generous to his backups, somewhat dazzled by the reception he got at Radio City from a soldout crowd of thousands, standing ovations and 7 encores! never seen anything like it in all my years!

Incredible energy he displayed on that stage! He jokingly talked about reaching 80, he could be 35 that night :-)

Perhaps the best concert we've attended! During the interval, my husband went to the men's room where the lines were "a thousand pissers deep"!

Leonard Cohen Better the First Time

by Maude37 on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

I saw the same show in Dec. at MSG, and it was magical. For some reason, I did not get the same vibe at Radio City Musical Hall. LC, his band, and his singers, are all excellent, and the repertoire includes everything you want from Leonard Cohen. Maybe they were just a little tired from being on the road so long, or maybe it was because the MSG show was my first experience of LC in concert. Or maybe it was just a case of first love not being as good as you remembered it.

    Amazing show,

by junglejodi2000 on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

Leonard is a genius. He put his entire heart into his performance. He sang many songs on his knees. He introduced his band and gave them solos. There was no opening act, it was pure Leonard for almost three hours, with a long encore. In a word: Hallelujah!

    Leonard Cohen was brilliant

by LeonardCohenFans on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

Leonard Cohen delivered a perfect 3 hours of his best music. His performance was flawless, and he lived up to his promise of giving us his best. He has a wonderful stage presence, nothing fake, everything honest. His musicians and singers were also extraordinary, and it was great to hear their solos. Sound quality was excellent.

    Magical night

by Cyd2013 on 4/9/13Radio City Music Hall - New York

Leonard Cohen said at the beginning of the show on Sunday night that he and his amazing band would give us "everything they've got". They certainly did just that. The poetry and music were incredible. My husband and I were so moved by the entire night. Thank you Leonard!
