Regarded as one of the preeminent rock musicians of our time, Lenny Kravitz has transcended genre, style, race and class into an 18-year musical career, one which revels in the rich influences of '60s and '70s soul, rock and funk.
Kravitz's multiple talents as a writer, producer and multi-instrumentalist have resonated through seven studio albums into a timeless catalog, all of which have been certified either platinum or multi-platinum. From 1999 to 2002, he won four consecutive Grammy Awards, setting a record for the most wins in the "Best Male Rock Vocal Performance" category for his single "Dig In" (previously winning for "Again," "American Woman" and "Fly Away"). In 2004, he received his sixth Grammy nomination in the category for "If I Could Fall In Love" off his 6th studio album, Lenny. Kravitz's appeal has also been recognized by his peers; his collaborative efforts are as varied as his own influences, having worked with Madonna, Slash, Aerosmith, Jay-Z, N.E.R.D., Mick Jagger, P. Diddy and Alicia Keys.
A father to a 17-year old daughter Zoe, the 43-year old Kravitz's musical success has afforded him many opportunities to fulfill his creative vision beyond the recording industry. He recently created a design company, Kravitz Design, that undertakes various high-concept projects with commercial, residential and product design.
Kravitz released a new album entitled It Is Time For A Love Revolution set in February 2008.
My Girlfriends and I had a fabulous time! Lenny was as spectacular as I thought he would be! Loved the diversity of the show.
Lenny sounded amazing...the band was great and the acoustics made it feel like you were in your own living room with a live concert!
This was one of the best concerts I have ever attended. Lenny is an amazing artist.
This was one of the best shows that I have ever seen!
We thought people will be seated during the entire show but as soon as he appeared, everyone got in the mood. However, public was kind of middle-aged so tooooo calm for his tunes. Overall, exciting music and great musicians!
First time seeing Lenny Kravitz and it was one of the best shows ever! He was great the crowd was great and I can't wait to see them again!
Great Show however......I hate the 45 minute wait between opening act and Lenny. How hard can it be? everything is set up in 15 min then the wait begins. I am not going to buy any more t-shirts or beer just because you are making me wait. Infact I personnally will buy less beer and not a t-shirt..
Lenny puts on a great high energy show, and the Ryman is a great venue for seeing an artist like Lenny.
Loved it! One of my favorite artists and he did not disappoint! Great show.
Who doesn't love American Woman and played live wow. Esp. having the incredible sound quality at the Ryman.
The show was amazing and non-stop! The Ryman never rocked that hard! His band is amazing!
I have been anticipating a good rocking show for a long time. Lenny played for an hour and a half and with all of his songs, could have played for two hours. He was obviously having a good time and that carried out through the crowd. No one in my area was sitting for very long, he had us all on our feet. Thank you Lenny for coming and "Rock over Nashville."
Lenny Kravitz rocked hard and got the crowd involved in a way that could only happen at the Ryman!
Lenny Kravitz is my favorite artist of all time, but this is the first time I have gotten to see him live in 10 years. I was not disappointed. He was amazing, as usual. He is a true artist and an awesome performer. This show was worth every penny and every minute of the soar throat I left with. :)!!!
The Ryman Auditorium is the place in Nashville to see live music. The setting was perfect for last night's performance by Lenny Kravitz. His show was an unbelievable mash-up of musical styles and performance elements--seemingly inspired by everything from James Brown to Jimi Hendrix to Led Zeppelin to... Lenny Kravitz, of course! The audience stayed on its feet through the ENTIRE concert. Incredibly musical, incredibly high energy, incredibly entertaining!
I have to admit that I was not a huge fan but had certainly listened to Lenny Kravitz's music. I went with a group of friends that were huge fans. I walked away from the concert being more of a fan. I was impressed with his talent as a musician. Above that, he was a great entertainer and his band was incredible. He really interacted with the audience which I always like to see. It was a memorable event and I will certainly see him in concert again!
HE SOUNDED EXTRAORDINARY!!! AWESOME SHOW!! I WOULD ADVISE ANYONE TO GO SEE THE SHOW.
I've seen Lenny Kravitz three times, the third time being at The MGM Grand at Foxwoods. This was the best Lenny show by far. The jamming was great!
This was our 4th Lenny concert… the 3 previous shows were all 10+. Usually Lenny breaks open the show with a rocking song that sets the mood for the entire evening … unfortunately this was not the case on 10/17/09. He came out and was obviously not feeling well. Mid-way thought the show he performed on the keyboards for about 15-20 minutes. We couldn’t take it anymore so we went to the foyer to take a break… while standing there beautiful women, in their sexual prime were leaving the show… that’s how bad Lenny performance was. It pains me writing the cause I was so stoked about the show and believe me I love his work. Not 1 song from his latest CD which I believe was his best since Lenny 5. I don’t understand it… Lenny what happened to you.
Wow, Lenny was great. We kept wanting to see more and more... We are so excited Lenny will be touring in the next couple of years. The energy Lenny brings to crowd is unbelievable. Lenny keep up with the great tunes. We love you man!
