    Lennon: Through a Glass Onion

by Raeven on 10/16/14Union Square Theatre - New York

Loved the show. Made us laugh, made us cry. Felt like we were watching John as we wish we could today in NYC. Bravo!! Would love to see the show again.

    Sadly disappointing

by Plaza310 on 10/14/14Union Square Theatre - New York

My disappointment was more a result of the structure and spoken portions of the play than of the two actors/musicians. The concept appeared incomplete, with the dialogue sometimes affected and contrived. The music was an adequate recreation, making me want to go home as soon as possible so I could listen to the real Lennon.

    Lennon's was fab!

by Aussie100 on 10/13/14Union Square Theatre - New York

I enjoyed the show very much! John Waters was absolutely fantastic and the pianist was amazing. I really found the music sounded just like the Beatles, and the interpretation of Lennon's life was very intuitive and realistic. I also thought the venue was great. The style of the venue was perfect for this show. I would recommend this show to anyone!

    Sadly disappointed

by Luvlennon109 on 10/12/14Union Square Theatre - New York

I expected so much more. I intentionally went on John Lennon's birthday, not even sure THEY knew it was. No acknowledgement of his birthday.boooooo. The microphones had a bad muffled sound when he spoke. We probably understood 60% of what was said. It would have been really nice to have continuos pictures of Lennon throughout his life on the plain background wall. To see pictures of Julian, Sean, Yoko, the Love in, the guru could have pulled together this sad, lonely tribute together somehow. I really expected to see people walking out during the performance. I guess, like myself, we all thought it would get better.

    Huge disappointment!

by musicfan1014 on 10/9/14Union Square Theater - New York City

This show was a huge disappointment! John Waters sang very poorly and with little insight into how to interpret Lennon's masterpieces. In his portrayal of Lennon's life with dialogue, Mr. Waters played him in an inept and one-dimensional manner, turning it into caricature. If there had been an intermission, I would have left in the middle. The only saving grace was the piano playing of Stewart D'Arrietta, which was terrific.

    Lennon Brilliant

by 1sttimevisitNY on 10/6/14Union Square Theatre - New York

We went to the 1st preview night of Lennon Through a Glass Onion. 4 of us were there and we all thought the show was extremely good. There was a standing ovation at the end which was thoroughly deserved. The music was great and John Waters does Lennon brilliantly. It was very cleverly put together, not your run of the mill Beatles show, much better than that. The Union Square Theatre is the original small intimate theatre of old, with a great atmosphere. Very well suited to this production.
