She is special in many ways! Her performance and energy was spectacular!

If you missed Leela James, you missed a fantastic show! Miss Leela is off da hook! I love this girl! Looking like she's only about 4 feet tall, with huge wild hair and 6 inch spike heels (she had on some bad shoes) she is a most powerful entertainer! She has a deep sultry, strong voice and she commands the stage. At only 30 years old, she struts around the stage and the auience preaching to us older folks (with that deep country accent) as if she's been here for 60 years! Her backround singers have amazing harmony and her band is off the chain! They all look like they're having a ball. Together, they make for such a fun show. I can't wait for Miss Leela to come back to the Birchmere!!

Leela was dynamite...we really loved her performance from beginning and all the way to the end..Wow....then she came back out after leaving the stage and gave us more..wow!!! She can get my money any day!!!

The show was awesome! It's been a long time since I've been to a concert and felt like the artist was family. It was intimate and true to the love of real music. Leela walked the audience like she was at home & even had some guests up on stage partying with her! She sounded better than her album. The band and background singers were on point. The birchmere was just as great. The food was good and servers very polite. It was the best close out to my birthday weekend. I will be a fan of Leela for life.

Absolutely Amazing show!!! She was incredible from to finish!! The venue was nice, Good acoustics, and food was good. The registers had a problem with credit cards, but they pulled everything off without a hitch. I had a great time, and will definitely go to see Leela again and will definitely attend more shows at the Birchmere.

This show was simply amazing. Toward the end, Leela started to cry because of all the love we showed her. It was a moving night, and the encore songs we terrific. Truly a party not worth missing. Please come back to DC again. We love you girl!

Good Time, most of the artist did a decent job entertaining me

Leela James is a very underrated under promoted soul singer. She gives a better performance than most artist with a big budget. Lalah Hathaway's voice warms your whole body. Wraps you like a warm hug from the one you love. Rahsaan Patterson could sing the ingredients from a cereal box and make it memorable. The only other man since Luther that can sing another artist's song and make you believe it was theirs originally. His vocal range and style second to none. Raheem Devaugh is the last great hope for soul music.
