    LEE RITENOUR was great !!

by Gandalf77 on 3/23/12B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Great gig, great formation. All the members were astounding ... anyway the bass player enjoyed playing with his voice and the bass and that is really the added value of a live gig.

These musicians were "in the groove"!

by Alphatar on 3/23/12B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Lee Ritenour, Jesse Millener, Melvin Davis, and Sonny Emery are some of the best musicians on their instruments, and it showed. These guys have one of the best intuitive feels for each other that I have ever seen. Having been a jazz fan for many years, I can truely say that this concert was one of my favorites!

Shank Hall is a great venue for concerts. I haven't been to a bad concert there yet. Lee Ritenour didn't disappoint. His guitar work and the band were as expected, fantastic!

Will the Real Lee Ritenour stand up!!!

by Shamo1 on 4/7/11B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

I have always looked upon Lee Ritenour as being one of the guitar greats of all time. So when I had a chance to see again, I wasted no time in getting tickets. Last time I saw him was 25 years ago and to be honest I wish I didn't break the streak. The show was not a sell-out, BB's was half filled with a majority of the audience being guys his age & older. His performance lacked passion, it appeared that he had his own agenda and truly did not play to the audience. The show lasted about 80 minutes where he played 8-10 songs, he spent most of that time either playing or promoting songs from his boring new album or trying to sell CDs. The biggest insult of all was his encore version of Bob Marley's Get Up, Stand Up. That was time for me to Get Up and Get Out. Not only was it a piss poor choice, I'm sure a Bob Marley tribute band could have put on a better performance. Lee Ritenour stop trying to rock out. Get back to the smooth grooves that once define what you were all about...before you loose what's left of your fan base.

    Ritenour Rocks!!

by SPARRIS on 4/5/11Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Lee Ritenour is one talented and humble soul. He was engaging, cracked jokes and his love for his craft showed. What I liked most about this concert aside from the obvious talent is that Ritenour repeatedly highlighted the other members in the band and had no problem in letting them show us what they were working with. The chemistry between Ritenour, Sonny Emory, Melvin Davis and the pianist was obvious, they flowed like a family that truly loves each other and respects the talent that each of them possesses. They had fun doing what they do and that made the concert even better. What an experience!!

    Lee Ritenour

by cwcpas on 4/5/11Variety Playhouse - Atlanta

Briefly..Would highly recommend to music lovers of all kinds. World class musicians giving it their all. Took my 16 year old son, and he was glad " I made him go ". Lee has a very likeable stage presence. He is such a talented guitar player, yet allows the band members to show off.

    Consumate professional.

by DGinDenver on 1/17/11Coach House - Capistrano - San Juan Capistrano

Mr. Ritenour has always been a favorite of mine. I finally got a chance to see him and it was everything I dreamed it would be and more. He was gracious enough to sign autographs and shake hands after the show. Also, his playing partners were top notch musicians in their own right.

    Lee Ritenour- Exceptional

by Guitargal4u on 8/12/10The GRAMMY Museum - Los Angeles

The Grammy Museum is the best venue at LA Live to see anyone. Itimate environment, only seats 200+ persons and the museum exhibits are a must see. Lee is not only an incredible jazz/funk guitar player, he also knows just about every incredible guitar player on earth which is evident in his new CD: 6 String Theory.

This was a fabulous event ... great comfortable and intimate setting. It's not often that you get to hear such insight and background information regarding an artist such as Lee Ritenour. Followed by some great music and a meet and greet. What an overall terrific event!

    lee ritenour was fantastic

    by rs350z on 8/1/09Aladdin Theater - Portland

i have every one of his cd's/albums. he is 1 hell of a smooth guitar player. all of the other members were very good also. i would like to make a couple of points. to make the concert absolutely perfect, i would tone down the snare drum (over-powered everybody else) and on the 2nd snare, the bass vibrated the snare strings and added quite a bit of "noise" to the music, so much noise that it took away from the smooth riffs from lee or the bass or pianist.

    Lee was off the chart

by Linnyloo on 8/1/09Aladdin Theater - Portland

An assembled group of individually talented artists that did not just play music but created it for the audience. It gave the feeling of experiencing something that was unique for that particular performance. Very satisfying.

    Lee Ritenour Rocks !!!!

by jazfan on 8/1/09Aladdin Theater - Portland

Simply amazing ...........Simply the best of the best! Jazz at it's very best. Lee played for 2 1/2 hours straight. His band was outragous! New tunes and old. The turnout was light but it will not happen again once the word gets out. It's a gift if he comes to your town to play. Don't miss it. Rising star Annekei opened for Lee and she was great. She writes her own music and plays guitar and keyboard. Her next album (coming soon) was produced by Lee himself. Many thanks to Mr. Ritenour for coming to Portland. Please come back soon!!
