I have always looked upon Lee Ritenour as being one of the guitar greats of all time. So when I had a chance to see again, I wasted no time in getting tickets. Last time I saw him was 25 years ago and to be honest I wish I didn't break the streak. The show was not a sell-out, BB's was half filled with a majority of the audience being guys his age & older. His performance lacked passion, it appeared that he had his own agenda and truly did not play to the audience. The show lasted about 80 minutes where he played 8-10 songs, he spent most of that time either playing or promoting songs from his boring new album or trying to sell CDs.
The biggest insult of all was his encore version of Bob Marley's Get Up, Stand Up. That was time for me to Get Up and Get Out. Not only was it a piss poor choice, I'm sure a Bob Marley tribute band could have put on a better performance.
Lee Ritenour stop trying to rock out. Get back to the smooth grooves that once define what you were all about...before you loose what's left of your fan base.
