Lee Rittenour is one of the jazz guitar greats. He has played with virtually everyone of any importance because of his skill and talent. If you haven't seen him yet, you are missing an important "punch" on your card!
I have seen Lee Ritenour before and he is ALWAYS fantastic! I have been waiting to see Lee with Dave Grusin--- for quite a while as they are often in South America, or Asia, or the west coast and I couldn't get there so this was a dream come true for me! They all left nothing to be disappointed with! Dave was as ALWAYS incredible, Lee is always a master as well and though I was not familiar with the bass player he too was top notch and smooth. Last but certainly not least Wes Ritenour was great!, (I am a drummer, not up to their level but ever appreciative of raw talent of course) Lee came out to give autographs after the show and pose for pics with fans. Jazz musicians are the best---humble and appreciative and we love them for it!!! I can't wait to see them again- Thank you for all the years of phenomenal music!!!
My first encounter with Lee Ritenour's music took place 28 years ago when I used to live at dorm as student of Music Ed. Last Thursday my dream came thru. I had a chance to meet a legend. Lee's music inspired me all these years and still does. Will attend to his concert again in the future.
Night went perfectly. Haven't seen Lee Ritenour since the early nineties when he was with Fourplay. He certainly still has it. His band members were top notch as well. Acoustics were excellent and we enjoyed the small venue. Not everyday father and son play together on stage, pleaseure to witness. Afterwards Lee signed a copy of his CD and posed for a photo. Not too often you get a picture with Lee Ritenour.
Lee goes all out in his live performances. He plays with his soul not just his fingers. A true modern day legend. He can go from soft and emotional to furious and funky. His "friends" include his son, drummer Wes (named after Wes Montgomery) who is amazing is own right. The bass player was superb. Last but not least, Lee's long-time partner Dave Grusin, at 85 years old, still kicks ass! If you haven't seen them live you don't know what you're missing.
I've seen Lee Ritenour and Dave Grusin before in concert and they always deliver great music as expected. This time though, we saw Wes , Lee's son on drums and he was out of this world. He is just as talented as his dad, runs in the family. Venue was great. Phenomenal show.
Finally got to see one of my favorite musicians, Lee Ritenour, at the NJ Performing Arts Center in Newark. The venue (Victoria Theater at the NJPAC) was intimate and very nicely laid out. The acoustics were quite good and it seems like there is not a bad seat location in the whole theater. The show was great, as expected, and we had a pleasant time.
Room was great! And of course he was extraordinary, awesome đ!!
The concert was great. The sound was perfect. Will go to another concert at Santa Fe.
I loved Lee. He was great and the band was exceptional . Lee and his band were so friendly. After the show he shook our hands, thank us for coming and answered questions. Plus Humphreys staff was exceptional and I loved the dinner package. Thanks again
Lee Ritenour, Larry Goldings, and Peter Erskine @ Jazz Alley in Seattle! Outstanding! Such talented guys...highly recommend! You won't be disappointed.
The music was incredible! Mike Stern with Lee Ritenour was unbelievable. I got a treat from these two big players together! Awesome!
This was a great concert performed by great musicians. I had never seen Mike Stern or Sonny Emory before. They were incredible, particularly Sonny the percusionist. I recognized Melvin Davis, the bass player, probably from Chaka Khan concerts. Lee has surrounded himself with an excellent group and his performances are always stellar! He mixed both the octaving style he adopted since the Wes Bound recording, and a harder rock fusion on many of the songs. I highly recommned this concert!
Great concert, venue was awesome, small not like some of the large arena settings. Would definitely go to see Lee Ritenour again!
Show was exceptional, and so were all the musicians .
Great show what an incredible venue. Jazz Alley, best venue to watch a show in town.
Lee Ritenour was superb. A true professional at his craft and his accompanying musicians were equally fantastic they included drummer Sonny Emory, bassist Melvin Lee David and Keyboards Jesse Milliner. Sadly the management at BB Kings was not as wonderful. My wife and I showed up at the show 1.5 hours in advance to get the best seat possible. We were seated in the middle of a crowded table, which was fine and to be expected. We removed our jackets and placed them around our chairs and went up to the bar to have a few cocktails. Forty minutes later my wife noticed one of the managers removed her jacket and was seating another couple in our seats. So I talked to the manager and he said you canât have drinks at the bar, you must be seated in your seats. So basically you move your feet you lose your seat. Then he handed me back only her jacket, he disappeared for a few minutes and I went back to the table where we were originally seated to look for my jacket and the patrons sitting there said the manager removed the jackets, even though they told him we were sitting there. Finally he shows up with my jacket, overall no harm no foul but what a hassle! Overall Lee Ritenourâs music was able to overcome the lack of courtesy exhibited by BB Kingâs management.
That was great! He Is a fantastic musician. His group is also wonderful!
His back up team , Keyboard, Basist , Drums were great. Timing the best, and his selection of sets great. Unforunitely i took ill after the 4 number so i only caught half of the show, but i would definietly see him again. Thx to the crew at BB's for helping me out diuring my mini crisis. Feel alot better today. Great place to see a show, and the price is always right. A.Lauro
