LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IN CONCERT:

Back in the early '00s fans fell hard and fast for the funky electronica and rebellious rock and roll spirit LCD Soundsystem brought to their superb albums and killer live shows. The fun ended in 2011 when the band hung up their guitars and unplugged their drum machines, but not all was lost—legendary frontman James Murphy announced a reunion in 2015, and fans can't wait for LCD to blast some seriously funky stuff when they return to the stage. With headlining sets at several world-class festivals slated for 2016, the band has fans chomping at the bit to dance the night away to favorites like “Losing My Edge”, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, and “North American Scum”. LCD Soundsystem is sure to deliver the party-worthy passion that ticket buyers love to feel on the dance floor, and fans can't wait for their epic comeback party.

BACKFROUND SNAPSHOT:

James Murphy bounced around the NYC music scene for more than a decade before gaining traction with the DJ project Death from Above, which saw him spinning everything from Daft Punk to Can. After seeing a younger DJ aping his unique mixes, he was inspired to write the snarky, humorous “Losing My Edge” in 2002 and LCD Soundsystem was born. He continued to cut successful singles and assembled a group of musicians to recreate his songs in a live setting, a move that thrilling both indie rockers and underground dance fans. Murphy's underground fame soon gave way to crossover success—the band's 2005 self-titled debut and 2007 album Sound of Silver both received Grammy nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Album. After the release of their 2010 album This Is Happening, Murphy decided to step out of the limelight and announced the group’s final show the following year. The hiatus only lasted four years, as the songwriter posted a heartfelt letter to his fans in 2015 telling them he had come up with a wealth of new material and decided that his former band would be the best outlet for it. With LCD Soundsystem headlining major festivals like Coachella in 2016, fans can’t wait to pick up where this dance party left off.

  • One of the Best

by AAAAAAAANDY on 10/25/10Roy Wilkins Auditorium at St. Paul RiverCentre - St PaulRating: 5 out of 5

It's great when the crowd can tell that the bands work hard to put on a good show. Everyone was up and moving and both Hot Chip and LCD Soundsystem were on their game.

Both of these bands put on a stellar show. This is one of the best concerts I've seen.

  • Chip HOT, LCD NOT...

by LoPony on 10/25/10Roy Wilkins Auditorium at St. Paul RiverCentre - St PaulRating: 3 out of 5

Just my preference I guess, Hot Chip was awesome and I didn't expect that. LCD was just loud and the crowd was annoying.

The show had an incredible energy from the first song (Dance yrself Clea) to the last (home), It was hands down the best show I've ever seen.

  • Both acts killed it

by Fateable on 10/25/10Roy Wilkins Auditorium at St. Paul RiverCentre - St PaulRating: 5 out of 5

There was no slow down, except the interlude between bands. I jumped around so much that my calves hurt to the point where i cant walk right, and its been two days. The bands went beyond my expectations. My only beef is the long lines for drinks and LCD didnt play POW POW

  • Hot Chip & LCD were great!

The Rave is a great venue, Hot Chip & LCD were just great. Perhaps the only thing is that Hot Chip could sound better, but still they sound great.

FANTASTIC. I am normally not an electronic fanatic, tagged along with friends, and turned out LOVING the concert. Didn't want it to be over. Heard there was an after party...regret not going

Hot Chip was the perfect opener, LCD was fantastic and louder than ever! They played all the songs I wanted to hear and very much different from the last tour. Awesome, awesome, awesome! band. The venue is kinda crappy though. Very cool room but the sound is rather terrible. Echo!echoechoecho...... You could rarely understand James's vocals as his voice drowned itself out and got swallowed by the rest of the band. But still a good show.

The combination of lights, sound, and energized crowd was impossible to forget.

Should've brought the glow sticks. Roy Wilkins gives a rave-type feel. All in all, GREAT show.

Went to see hot chip. They were awesome. Played best oldies and new tracks! played for about an hour 20 min. Great show! Great venue! Not a huge lcd soundsystem fan but they did a great job too. If you like them I would see the show for sure.

  • James Murphy is at my house

    by animalfat on 10/24/10Eagles Club/The Rave/Eagles Ballroom - MilwaukeeRating: 4 out of 5

Wow! Great show. LCD Soundsystem perfroms songs from their first three albums. The band overflows with talent and their music, sound and vocals captures us and sends us reverberating and chanting, with arms over our heads and bodies crowd surfing. "Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah, yeah, hey, hey, hey, everybody keeps on talking about it, nobody's getting it done." Don't miss this show if you like alternative rock, Mr. Murphy is on top of his sound. He is at my house on my stereo!!!
