LCD SOUNDSYSTEM IN CONCERT:

Back in the early '00s fans fell hard and fast for the funky electronica and rebellious rock and roll spirit LCD Soundsystem brought to their superb albums and killer live shows. The fun ended in 2011 when the band hung up their guitars and unplugged their drum machines, but not all was lost—legendary frontman James Murphy announced a reunion in 2015, and fans can't wait for LCD to blast some seriously funky stuff when they return to the stage. With headlining sets at several world-class festivals slated for 2016, the band has fans chomping at the bit to dance the night away to favorites like “Losing My Edge”, “Daft Punk Is Playing at My House”, and “North American Scum”. LCD Soundsystem is sure to deliver the party-worthy passion that ticket buyers love to feel on the dance floor, and fans can't wait for their epic comeback party.

BACKFROUND SNAPSHOT:

James Murphy bounced around the NYC music scene for more than a decade before gaining traction with the DJ project Death from Above, which saw him spinning everything from Daft Punk to Can. After seeing a younger DJ aping his unique mixes, he was inspired to write the snarky, humorous “Losing My Edge” in 2002 and LCD Soundsystem was born. He continued to cut successful singles and assembled a group of musicians to recreate his songs in a live setting, a move that thrilling both indie rockers and underground dance fans. Murphy's underground fame soon gave way to crossover success—the band's 2005 self-titled debut and 2007 album Sound of Silver both received Grammy nominations for Best Electronica/Dance Album. After the release of their 2010 album This Is Happening, Murphy decided to step out of the limelight and announced the group’s final show the following year. The hiatus only lasted four years, as the songwriter posted a heartfelt letter to his fans in 2015 telling them he had come up with a wealth of new material and decided that his former band would be the best outlet for it. With LCD Soundsystem headlining major festivals like Coachella in 2016, fans can’t wait to pick up where this dance party left off.

  • Absolutely brilliant!

by Hbee on 10/5/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I went for Pulp - who were utterly fantastic! great show and trip down memory lane, Jarvis' voice is still amazing. I'd never seen LCD Soundsystem, and I was swept in the enthusiasm of the entire audience up and dancing the whole time. A brilliant night, great use of the screens as always, genius to use overhead shots - popcorn delicious and always something new at the Bowl store. And I repeat this every time, the shuttle makes the whole evening even better! Great night out!

Amazing location, great sound, perhaps screens could have been bigger. Biggest gripe very limited alcohol choice….ie. Wine or beer??

  • LCD Soundsystem & Pulp rock the Bowl!

by Nhbrownlaw on 9/29/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

I wasn’t really aware of Pulp, but their energetic opening set, with vintage 80’s-90’s videos reminded me of their storied past, and was quite good. LCD Soundsystem, as they do, don’t indulge in audience banter, but play their amazing, electrifying music with great skill and intense emotion! A great live act!

  • LCD > Hollywood Bowl

by Shane on 9/29/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

These guys should be playing a week at the Palladeum rather than two shows at the Bowl.. we need room to dance.

  • $130 for terrible seats!

    by Tina R on 9/28/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

LCD SOUNDSYTEM NEVER DISAPPOINTS neither does PULP and the Hollywood Bowl was no exception. What’s disappointing was the cost of our tickets. $130 for section M1 Is not worth it.

  • Amazing performance!! Gouging ticketing practices..

by Klee on 9/28/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 4 out of 5

As always an LCD show is the best ever with the most amazing energy and incredible performance. However, I was pretty disenfranchised buying tickets during artist presale for more money and not ideal seating. As the weeks went on better seats were available for less money and that has really pissed me off. I've had it with ticketmaster and their tactics. I'll be very careful in the future with these crooks.

  • Best gig ever

by Insitubob on 9/28/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 5 out of 5

Pulp and LCD Soundsystem both on top form. Amazingly good sound @ the Hollywood Bowl. Blown away by both bands. Great crowd too.

  • Delays

by JR on 9/28/25Hollywood Bowl - HollywoodRating: 3 out of 5

Although both Pulp and LCD Soundsystem were excellent, the issue was the long turnover time between sets. Because of Hollywood Bowl rules about sound cutoff times, we got a shortened LCD Soundsystem set—it took well over 45 minutes to move Pulp's gear aside and set up LCD Soundsystem. This was a known issue by all parties involved, and there was no excuse for it. At one point, a dozen people were just standing on the stage, doing nothing. This was especially annoying to the audience members who knew about the Hollywood time cutoffs. For the price of concert tickets, we certainly expected a full concert.

  • LCD, yet to disappoint live

    by carolsdaughter22 on 8/30/25The Factory - Saint LouisRating: 5 out of 5

Just the show we needed! Thanks so much to LCD Soundsystem for making another stop in STL. Great set list, excellent sounds. James was hilarious and sounded great as did the band. As a 50-ish year old, I def appreciated the Intermission/Pee Break. The band sounded great and I love watching people play music who really seem to be enjoying it, and that seemed to be the case at our show. Only issue I have has nothing to do with the band or venue, it's fellow concertgoers: I do not understand people who go to a ticketed event and then talk through the whole thing. It's concert, not a party in your apartment or at a bar that just happens to have live music playing. GO outside to the bar if you want to just catch up and drink with your friends. Otherwise, shut up and listen to the music and maybe move your feet and dance yourself clean.
