    2023 Laver Vancouver

by Topspin on 9/27/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Great event as always but this time a couple of criticisms: 1. Despite a wealth of great players in Europe, team Europe failed to attract many, resulting in its dominance by World. Better player selection should even the field (court). 2. The scoring system puts the last matches on Sunday at risk. Like in Boston in 2021, this year the contest was over after the first match on Sunday. As the result, ticketholders had to do with an "exhibition"match and some of the best matchups never took place. The Laver Cup needs to have a better arrangement (and comment 1 above might help to solve this).

    A wonderful experience

by TennisFan on 9/27/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Laver cup in Vancouver was a great experience even without the top European stars. Venue was great and it was well-produced. Looking forward to Berlin next year.

    Excellence!!

by Boo on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

The tennis from Europe vs the World was world class - professional to the extreme. The screening, entertainment between cross over games, ball kids all impressive. Memorable highlight of my year. Thanks Roger for bringing the high level to the Pacific Northwest!

    World Tennis Dominates

by RS on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

What a classy event! Everything about this event oozed Canadian hospitality, warmth, friendliness and fun. The events and photo ops outside were entertaining and memory making. The cleanliness of Rogers Arena, both inside and out, demonstrated the pride taken by employees and staff. Prior to each session tributes and recognitions were made to those who made this event possible, yet the tribute to Canada's First Nation tribes with the recognition that their ancestral land was where Rogers Arena now stood was educational and long overdue. Thank you, for recognizing their contributions. Finally, the sounds and sights inside the Arena kept ticket holders entertained while food and beverage vendors kept people satiated. Cheering for Team World...could it have been any better? It was so nice to see singles rivals turn into teammates for a common goal. From the action packed tennis matches to the end of the match interviews there was never a dull moment. Thank you, Rod and Roger for creating this tennis concept, nurturing it and sharing it with the world. Thank you, Vancouver for the awesome event and your warm hospitality. Just AWESOME!

Mostly great but scoring needs improvement

by tennisbuff on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

This is a mostly fabulous event done in first class fashion. However, the scoring system needs to be tweaked so that there is a guarantee of at least 2 meaningful matches played on the final day. Since this year, the World Team won the overwhelming number of matches on Friday and Saturday, it left only one match to be played on Sunday for the championship. If the score needed to win was changed to 16, then even if one team sweeps all of the Friday and Saturday matches, it would then take at least 2 Sunday matches for them to win. As it was, this turned more into a 2 day event than the promised 3 day event. Also, it was frustrating that we couldn't access our tickets from the Ticketmaster app AND there was something wrong with the URL site so that we couldn't download the tickets to Apple Wallet.

    Overpriced?

by Zak on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Not sure how I would pay $215 plus taxes for my seat which was balcony seat section 329 Row 10 and the person next to me paid $80. I felt very ripped off. She was from Brazil and bought from box office there, which should’ve been more for them because they’re out of country me. I live in Canada and paid more than double… go figure. Regardless, I felt that the seats were way too expensive for where they were and $80 seem more like what it should’ve been.

    So fun!

by Martina on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

It was my first time watching professional tennis live and it surpassed my expectations. It was beautifully produced and having Roger Federer and Rod Laver in presence was the cherry on top. My only gripe is that the featured players changed so much in the lead up compared to the originally communicated selection. Definitely disappointed we didn’t get to watch some of the players we were expecting and looking forward to seeing play. Doing a better job of confirming and locking in players is recommended.

    Great Experience

by Norma on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I am glad I was able to attend this event, I am a big tennis fan and to have my favorite tennis player and the greatest of all timea, Roger Federer was just the cherry on top. I would have loved to be able to get autograph from him though and the Europe team. There was more time for the world team to be with fans in my opinion. Great tournament overall.

    Best time

by Tennisfan on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

What a fun event! The atmosphere and crowd was electric and fantastic tennis. Even sitting in the third tier, we could easily see the action on the court below. Super fun and so glad we came to Vancouver to experience the Laver Cup.

    Laber cup

by Nancy on 9/26/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

We were very disappointed in the event as the players and coaches seemed to be present for no other reason but to collect an easy paycheck. The teammates on the sidelines were very disinterested In the matches. Coaches looked bored. No real competition. This was a lot of money for a mediocre level of play with so called top players.

    Trash

by Disappointed on 9/25/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

What a waste of money, or should I say money grab from Federer and the likes. The competition and level of play was awful. Money would have been better spent watching Eugenie play pickelball.

    Laver Cup

by Adw on 9/25/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

The audio/ visual screen was not synched. There was no replay of points The audio via the app for the team benches was not easy to access. It was very smoky in the building? Directional signs coming out of the building for pedestrians would have been very helpful The tickets were easy to access. The ushers were very helpful and friendly

    fabulous and energizing

by Cindy H on 9/25/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Everything from beginning to end was fabulous. The staff at Rogers Arena were all wonderful. The planners of the event and those who handled the program were second to none. I loved the sights and sounds and most of all the positive energy. Would go again in a heartbeat.

    Review from average joe

by Thippytoe on 9/25/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

I grew up watching Bjorn and John play. Just being in the same building as all these amazing players, was a gift. Getting to see them play was amazing. I was lucky enough to attend the open practice on Thursday, September 21 with my grade 7 students. I was disappointed that our Canadian players weren’t on display during the hour World Team was on the court. Next, I attended the Friday evening session. I was impressed with everything except there wasn’t any replays on the jumbotron. Also, the cameras spanning the crowd never showed the upper deck guests. We were having a good time as well! Having Roger Federer at the event was extra special because one would think he has retired and maybe he’s too busy to attend. This was a pleasant surprise! The interview after the night session was like a « cherry on top of the cake ». We must remember that these amazing tennis players are humans and can be vulnerable as much we can be. I loved how humble Roger is and how he treated his fans. Sunday’s session was great. Even though Team World won it all in the 1st match, I was very pleased to watch Milos, Eubanks, Fils and Fokina battle it out. I don’t know if there’s a way to guarantee more matches on the final day, but I was glad it wasn’t over after the win. Thank you for the bonus match. At first, I thought maybe John and Björn were going to play. There was a lot of noise coming from the Captain’s Club behind Section 301 when the ‘bonus’ match was in progress after the big win. Not sure if there was a way to ask them to be quiet. Overall, I sat in three different seats when I attended 3 out of 4 days. I must say I truly enjoyed my seat in section 301 on the final day. I got to see the match play like it was on television as well as seeing Roger up close. Thank you for coming to Vancouver! As I told my students, this was a once in a lifetime experience. I will forever have these memories.

    Weak showing

by Gmoney on 9/25/23Rogers Arena - Vancouver

Poor doubles with short rallies. Players obviously didn’t care much for the event. Monfils completely gave up in his match and didn’t care at all about the team aspect. Players were very subdued because there were hardly any good rallies. Won’t be returning.
