Las Vegas Raiders History

The Las Vegas Raiders began play in the American Football League in Oakland in 1960. In 1963, they hired head coach and general manager Al Davis, who engineered the greatest one-year turnaround in pro football history, leading the Raiders to a 10-4 record after they posted a 1-13 mark the year before.

From 1967 to 1977 the Raiders appeared in three consecutive AFL title games and six AFC championship games. They won their first national championship title at Super Bowl XI in 1977, beating Minnesota 32-14. In 1980, they became the first Wild Card playoff team to win a Super Bowl, beating Philadelphia 27-10 in Super Bowl XV.

The Raiders moved to Los Angeles in 1982 and the following year won their third national championship title, defeating Washington 38-9 in Super Bowl XVIII. After returning to Oakland in 1995, the Raiders won three straight AFC West titles from 2000 to 2002 and earned a berth in Super Bowl XXXVII. As the only franchise to play in the Super Bowl in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, the Raiders are known as the “Team of the Decades.” The Raiders relocated to Las Vegas in 2020 and made a playoff appearance in 2021.

The Raiders have 30 members of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, including owner Al Davis.

    Awesome

by Swanee on 12/29/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

Memories for a lifetime! Beautiful facility, clean, friendly staff from health screening, security check and ticketing, and stadium workers. Convenient locations for food and restrooms. Great views of field, even from 400 level! Wished prices were a little lower, but that is a sign of the times. Highly recommended!

    Section issues

by Dog on 12/8/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

Clear was a nightmare. Difficult to access results just prior to game. Maybe system crashed with the volume. Finding seats also an issue as very poor signage to the section we required. Otherwise the stadium was beautiful. Better public transportation to/from venue would also be helpful.

It was so freeing to have my tickets on my phone.

by Wolfie on 12/8/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

To only refer to my phone for my tickets and Health Pass in order to attend a Raiders Game at the new Allegiant Stadium was fantastic. This is the only way that I want to travel now.

    Fantastic experience

by Blackhawktoo on 12/8/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

Ticketmaster app was fantastic. Could not have been more pleased with the way it functioned. Allegiant Stadium entry staff was both well staff and polite. They kept everyone moving as quickly as they could from the vaccination check point to ticket processing, it all was smooth and made the experience one that we would consider doing again at Allegiant Stadium.

    My Latest Vegas Experience!

    by T. S. on 12/8/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

This was my fourth trip to Vegas. I have to rank it on the top! Went to some places for the first time and the football game experience was awesome! Great tail-gate party outside the Luxor and Mandalay Bay Hotels and Allegiant Stadium is 🔥🔥🔥! Anyone who hasn’t been to Vegas needs to go and if you have been, you need to go back!!

    Okay

    Raiders\ Eagles game

by Nikki on 10/27/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

The whole experience was extraordinary. The checking in process was flawless. Customer service in all areas we went A+++. I've never seen so many workers love what they do. They were happy working there and I was happy to be there. As an Eagles fan the loss hurt but everyone was still respectful. Even the RTC shuttle was good as well. My one and only complaint is the seats were tiny. Like smaller than an airline seat miniscule. I had to stand up to change my mind kinda small. With all the great stuff to experience there to fail at the most important thing made me sad. Gorgeous stadium otherwise for sure.

    Excellent time

by Dennycrane on 10/27/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

The stadium tour was great, well organized and very insightful. The drink after the tour was great. On game day everything went smooth. we got in fast, got out fast. Rideshare at the stadium was a bit hectic. I had to walk a few minutes away to get a Lyft.

    Great time and trip

by Hawks1 on 10/27/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

Great place to visit, stadium is very clean, well lit and walking distance from all the downtown hotels. Tickets are pricey though.

    Average at best

by Doug B on 10/27/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

The stadium was very cookie cutter , and the amenities were terrible. Not enough bathrooms for an NFL crowd. Also, very little food choices compared to most other NFL stadiums. Lines were long and prices outrageous. I’ve been to 18 NFL stadiums, and this one ranks in the bottom half. Considering it is only a year old, it feels very dated.

    Best overall game experience ever

by DaBears on 10/16/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

I've never been to a game with such good "time out" experiences! I've been to 20 NFL games in various stadiums and this was my first in Vegas (I'm a Bears fan that lives in KC now) and the Half time show as perfect with Chris Angel and Ludacris as well as live music during TV timeouts. A++ VEGAS! WELL DONE!

    Amazing!

by Siestaclaud on 10/13/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

World class stadium. Entry with Clear app quick and easy. Seats are great. We were next to club level with great view. Art installations throughout are an excellent salute to the community. No lines for anything! Other stadium managers should be required to visit here. Bears win made it even better!

    Thanks for the heads up!

by Mando on 10/13/21Allegiant Stadium - Las Vegas

Went to the stadium thinking we had time to go and walk around inside, and at the entrance tried to show our vaccination cards and we were told that we needed to get wrist bands to clear us into entering the stadium. We were directed to a white tent that they had set up in the parking lot. The line was crazy long. If it wasn’t for another parking tenant that told us about the App that we could download, my wife and I would of missed probably half of the game. Walked in beginning of the 2nd qtr of the game. We payed top dollar for these tickets and to miss the 1st qtr of the game was very disappointing.
