About Las Vegas Motor Speedway
For even faster times in Sin City, head a few miles northeast of the Strip, to the far corner of the Las Vegas Valley. There you'll find the 1,200-acre motorsports complex known as the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The speedway, which now features nine different racetracks, is a relatively new addition to the American motorsports scene, but it's become a destination for racing fans in short order. At various points on the calendar, it is home to NASCAR's top racing series, NASCAR's pickup truck racing series, and NHRA drag racing, among other events.
Las Vegas Motor Speedway History
The speedway's roots go back to 1972 when the Las Vegas Speedrome opened. A road course and drag strip, the Speedrome added a short track in 1985. Eleven years later, Ralph Engelstad of what was then the Imperial Palace and Casino joined up with William Bennett of the Sahara Hotel to build a $72 million superspeedway on the site of the Speedrome. IndyCar driver Richie Hearn christened the shiny new digs with a victory in the Las Vegas 500K. Two years later, NASCAR's cup series came to the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The inaugural race, the Las Vegas 400, was won by Mark Martin, with 120,000 people in attendance. As of 2020, Jimmie Johnson held the track record for Cup Series victories with four.
Visitors to Las Vegas Motor Speedway should be sure to check out the Neon Garage, an interactive fan zone known in racing circles as "NASCAR's Disneyland." It's located in the center of the speedway's infield and features concession stands, live music, the Winner's Circle, and up-close-and-personal access to drivers and their race teams. Lucky fans might come away with a souvenir lug nut. Beyond racing events, the speedway also offers a variety of driving "experiences" for car lovers who want to get behind the wheel themselves.
Great weather, great friendly service, better seats to go with 4 wide action make a perfect day. Everyone needs to experience the energy and excitement that comes with four cars racing it out to the line.
Was nice to see entire seats by rows and availability. We always select aisle seats.
This is a hometown venue and I love every opportunity to visit it. But $6 bottles of water? $12 cans of beer?! $12 twinkies?! $12 bags of popcorn?! C'mon!!!
We have come from MT for the races before, but first time since became 4 wide Races. The noise, vibration, nitro smell was Great! Not as crowded, but track kept the races moving and minimal delays. Fun Day at the track!

Its was a great place to see the drag races. Easy to get parking and well organized.
The whole drag racing experience was great......5 STARS! Las Vegas Motor Speedway is a great venue. I have been a fan for many years starting at Lions Drag Strip in Wilmington, California. Ticketmaster does an ok job. However, getting out your cell phone, unlocking your cell phone, locating the correct screen with the event barcode on your cell phone all at an outdoor event with the bright sun beaming down on your cell phone screen making it difficult to read is a big inconvenience. I always go to will-call on the day of the event and get a printed ticket. Much much easier. I suggest that Ticketmaster offer a print-out with the bar code as an option so I don't have to waste my time at will-call. Ticketmaster 1-Star.....Average 3 Stars.
This was my most recent event in a long time to watch speed like I’ve never seen before… Got an excellent seat and really enjoyed the exhibition of ability and power in these vehicles and drivers. Can’t wait till the fall!
If you have never been to a NHRA 4 wide race in person, this is a must see. Absolutely incredible, we will be bringing some friends and family again next year!

I totally enjoyed the 4 wide experience. Having seen the exhibition in Charlotte a few years ago, it was always a dream to see it again. I have nothing bad to say about the event itself. As for Las Vegas strip, all seating is great (except for those behind a fence) The only other thing I would say/suggest is the speakers be updated. They were horrible.
Enjoyed LVMS a few times in the past. Great track. Every seat a good one. This was our 1st time at a 4 wide event. A must see. 44 thousand horsepower on the line. Awesome. Hit the loud pedal. Everyone should experience it his. Great day
Was very disappointed that vendors only accepted credit/debit cards. I will no longer support any vendors that do not accept cash. Everything is to expensive as well. I don’t believe I can justify the cost related to going to these events and will spend my money elsewhere. Very sad what has happened to the sport. Very unsatisfactory
Had a great time at the NHRA drags. The weather was perfect. Had good seats. First time at this track. Four lanes were very impressive. And the Ticketmaster app was easy to use.
I didn't like the electronic tickets I want the paper tickets back. Friday is supposed to be a night time qualifying but they start at noon and finish by five I need it to go back to the Friday night of fire. Still a good race but they need to go back to the way it was
Great set up, love the pit experience, good food and the Thunderbirds are a bonus!

this was out first NASCAR event and what an event it was!! we had an incredible time. a true experience. a great track, a great race, and great weather!! If you are considering NASCAR put this event and location on your "to do" list!!
