    Bass line supreme

by Zap20 on 9/1/15Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

This was the BEST Funkfest ever, from Breakwater who set the tone for the whole concert to Bootsy who did not disappoint. All the bands were great, especially when Breakwater covered all their songs and the lead singer did a great job (he sounded like Kae Williams, so that was excellent!!). Bootsy and his Rubber Band tore the ROOF of the SUCKA and when he came out into the audience, that was a great moment. It was very cool that security allowed for everyone to come to the front of the stage..I got some great "selfies" as well. Now for the coup de grace...Mr. Larry Graham and GCS....they KILLED IT!! All the band members (especially Biscuit) showed off their chops and it was the finale of all finales! Well done Dell East staff...and thanks for adding the bar to the concert, since that was not available in the past. Please keep bringing quality shows like this..2015 was one FANTASTIC YEAR

    Fantastic Funk Show

by PhillyPlayrite on 9/1/15Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

This was a great night of funk and each group brought it starting with a local band Breakwater. The treat for the audience was that Bootsy Collins played with George Clinton & the Parliament Funkadelics and James Brown and he played some of their hits along with his own. Bootsy also changed clothes about 4 times and each outfit was more outrageous than the last. Larry Graham closed the show and he was the icing on the cake. He entered from the top of the Dell coming down the stairs and through the audience playing his guitar. He has a fantastic band and back up singers and everything was tight and on point there was never a dull moment all night. The don't make harmony like that any more and none of his singers or musicians needed any enhancements. Larry also played with Sly and the Family Stone and Prince and played some of their music

It was an awesome show. My only complaint was that Larry's set ended too early. He and his bank were fantastic and I wanted to see more.Big props to Bootsy"s Rubber Band and Breakwater also. It was an all around funk fest.

Breakwater sounded like an average house band. Bootsy & Company put on a fantastic show. Bootsy topped it off by venturing into the audience at the end of his set. Larry Graham & Graham Central Station started off a little slow after Bootsy's show, but they more than made up for it. That band played really good music.

    All about the bass

by GHSBeargreen on 8/30/15Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

Show was great although Larry was better last year. Bootsie, my Scorpio brother, was off the hook! I did get to Larry quick enough to get his picture and that was the highlight of my night I love that man! Now that we have had the battle of the bass, we need battle of the horns (E,W&F, Tower of Power, Chicago, Brass Construction, Average White Band, and Mandril). I'll pay whatever that ticket costs!

    Bootsy and Larry

by ohmsfunkypitchblackfunk on 8/30/15Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

Boot, tore it up and put it back together again! Just amazing show. This venue recently started selling cocktails again. But this is a non smoking venue. Larry was also great. The show would have perfect if the time breakwater played was given to bootsy and larry.

by william896 on 8/30/15Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

The concert was great and there were nothing but Tiger at the shows. Every act and every song got you involved. The fans were the best high voltage, electric. The vibes had to be felt through out Philly. Concert well done. Would do it again!

    Bootsie ! Bootsie !

by Jliee on 8/30/15Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

Last year I saw Larry Graham at this same venue and he opened the show. His performance was so energetic and strong he should have closed that show. However this year his performance lacked energy and the song selections did not flow. There were a couple of dead moments, one when he ask each band member who were their influences and then proceeded to play a bit of of their choices. He was best when doing GCS hits and covering Sly & the Family Stone. He voice was good and his band sounded great. The other acts made this a great show!

    Bootsy Disappointing

by Tastykake1962 on 8/30/15Dell Music Center - Philadelphia

Larry Graham, what an awesome Bass player, I give him 5 stars. I wasn't impressed with his replacement for chocolate, the girl Biscuit could not sing more screaming no soul, she said Tina Marie was her Idol she can't hold a candle to the late great Tina... The most disappointing part of the show for me and my partners, was Bootsy Collins, he spent to much time changing clothes and talking to the crowd, we came there to hear him sing the songs that made him Bootzilla. He sang more Parliament songs then songs he made when he left the group. He spent 20 minutes preparing the crowd for his entrance into the crowd that was 20 minutes he could have sang...Wind Me Up or some of his other hits...truly disappointed..I'm glad I didn't waste my money on more expensive seating...

    Graham Jams as always

    by Geman61 on 4/21/15The Birschmere - Alexandria

This was the first time seeing Graham Central Station since the civic Center in Philly in the 70's with The Ohio Players. And even though not the original group Graham is still the man the show was awesome, they did Graham central Station songs along with Sly and the Family Stone songs. Terrriffic. Will be going again in August

    Good Show

by MrsDWood on 9/7/13Birchmere - Alexandria

Larry Graham still got it! He is a great performer. I was a little disappointment that Chocolate was not with the band. Also, I didn't like that he played more of other artists songs than his own. I think I was looking for Larry Graham and Graham Central Station from 1977. I remember them playing for 2 1/2 or more hours at the Capital Center when Sly didn't show up (surprise). That concert is embedded in my memory. Overall, I enjoyed the show.
