Across their career Lamb Of God grew from basement shows and grimy DIY venues to headline arenas. The New Wave of American Heavy Metal architects earned a reverence akin to musical forefathers (and road companions) Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.
"For millions of headbangers, Lamb Of God are simply the most important contemporary metal band in the world," Guitar World observed. Timeless songs like "Laid to Rest," "Redneck," "Walk with Me in Hell," and "Now You've Got Something to Die For" became anthems in the heavy metal songbook, with gargantuan vocals born from both righteous anger and devotion, and unrivaled riffs for the ages.
Now, the Grammy-nominated goliath follows 2020's self-titled slab with a vicious new testament. Riding high on an insatiable drive, a focused collective camaraderie, and a creative renaissance saluted by the likes of Rolling Stone and NME, Lamb Of God returned to longtime producer Josh Wilbur (Megadeth, Korn, Avenged Sevenfold) and carved the gloriously unhinged Omens into sonic stone.
Even as D. Randall Blythe (vocals), Mark Morton (lead guitar), Willie Adler (guitar), John Campbell (bass), and Art Cruz (drums) enjoy one another's company and chemistry like never before, Omens is possibly the angriest Lamb Of God album yet. Densely muscular, soaked in unnerving spite, with a pessimistic eye toward inner struggles and global affairs alike, Omens is a furious entry in the catalog.
Most of the album was recorded live in the studio, including Blythe's vibrantly unhinged vocal attack. Morton and Adler's riffs threaten, challenge, and devastate. Cruz and Campbell's unstoppable rhythms lurch and beckon. Having shined on 2020's Lamb Of God, Cruz injects even more nuance and personality into his playing across Omens' songs.
It's a potent, palpable energy Lamb Of God first tapped when they shoved heavy metal into the new millennium with New American Gospel (2000). As the Palaces Burn (2003) joined Rolling Stone's Top 100 Greatest Metal Albums of All Time. Ashes of the Wake (2004) was the first Lamb Of Gold album certified gold by the RIAA, a feat once all but impossible for a contemporary extreme metal band.
Sacrament (2006), Revolver's Album of the Year, went gold as well. The raw and organic malice of Wrath (2009) began the band's enduring relationship with Wilbur. Both the diverse Resolution (2012) and the explosive VII: Sturm und Drang (2015) debuted in the Top 5 of the Billboard 200.
The 2020 self-titled set, their first new material in five years, added instant classics "Memento Mori" and "Resurrection Man" to the repertoire, alongside eight more monster tracks. Revolver, Metal Hammer, Loudwire, and Consequence included Lamb Of God on their year-end Best Albums lists. The momentum continues with Omens, arguably the band's most aggressive and ambitious yet.
The hardcore fire at the heart of Lamb Of God still burns as hot as the 12-foot flames blazing the stages on their co-headlining trek with Megadeth, appropriately called "The Metal Tour of the Year." Even as the state of the world descends, the state of the union for Lamb Of God remains strong.
Over the course of their career, Lamb of God have played at famed venues like the Arizona Federal Theatre and the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
Great show. Not over crowded. Everyone was respectful. Beer could have been a bit cheaper though
The sound system and the crazy crowd were amazing. I was on the floor and no matter where you stood you were part and in the moshpit. Ticket master made everything easy by using our phone for getting in. Everything worked perfectly
It was safe, fun, good parking, good leaving, and good staff. Lamb of god needs to come to this venue more. Great floor prices.
Lamb of God and Mastodon are two of the greatest Metal bands out there today! They created this tour to celebrate 20 years of their 2004 Albums, Ashes of the Wake and Leviathan, thus “Ashes of Leviathan” 2024! They each played their respective Albums and it proved in both cases just how ahead of their time they each were! The albums are timeless Metal classics! This show was reinforced by Malevolence and the Legendary Kerry King! In my opinion Kerry King truly set the stage for Mastodon and Lamb of God! It was old school thrash metal with a vocalist Mark Osegueda that matched the intensity with shredding vocals! This was truly an epic metal show!
It’s was sick and one of the best and Kerry king was lit
Great Concert! I had General Admission Floor and truly enjoyed the Bands. The only thing that sucked, was I had an idiot behind me who kept flicking the back of my head when I was taking pictures or short video clips. No one has the right to do that to someone, and I know karma will get him. If he would have asked me to, I would have let him get in front of me with no problem.
Rio Rancho Events CenterI truly do not understand why we cannot have bottles of water at the show?? i am holding onto the first row for dear life and they pour my water into a cup? how am i supposed to stay hydrated and keep my spot, obviously the cup of water spilled everywhere immediately and made it dangerously slippery near the pit. not to mention i nearly fainted from dehydration. are you saying you cant thro an empty cup as well as you can throw an empty WATER BOTTLE?? please fix this ASAP, it is a water bottle, WATER. your fans deserve to stay up front and stay hydrated if that is their prerogative. I'm not fighting for beer or even Gatorade(which is also absurd), just a bottle of water that we pay for inside the venue. not to mention they made me throw away my brand new unopened bottle of water at the door which NO OTHER VENUE DOES. i have always been an advocator for the Rio Rancho Events Center, but this is just sad and ridiculous for your loyal customers who come all the time and purchase your products. LOG was good, unfortunately they were slightly better at Isleta last year with Pantera.
Right from the start the whole concert was great. All the bands played great and the crowd interaction was awesome.
The venue was great. The price for 5 tickets was off the hook. The $25 a ticket promo was a wallet saver. The venue needs to re think how to have people line up for the event. There were people up the staircase and once the event was open to enter the lines were chaotic. Some people were irate that they had to stand in line and people who walked up just walked into line. Entry needs to be thought out. Also more than 1 merch area the line was long so if you good in line you’d be there for at least 20-45 mins and miss the show just to get merch. So two or Three mech areas to get tour merch.
Great lineup! Lamb if God never disappoints and Mastodon sounded amazing as well! I would have paid more to see just those two bands for longer rather than having opening acts!
Kerry king is absolutely out of hand. Didn't think slayer could get any better. Mastodon was phenomenal. Their light show was unbelievable and combined with the music to make an amazing and mind altering experience. Lamb of God was and is the greatest current heavy metal band out there. Well worth the money and I'd see it again multiple times if I could.
Another great lamb of god show, they never disappoint. Loved seeing Mastodon and Kerry King as well.
The event was awesome and amazing, lines were very quick and moving fast, entrance lines, food and merch lines as well. The only downside was the ventilation when they had the fog smoke, but overall, a great place to enjoy concerts!
It was my first time watching them and they still my heart
Great show! All bands did a great job! Lamb of god was the highlight tons of energy put on a great show
Ashes of the Wake in its entirety! Absolutely Brutal set and the pits were insane! Lamb of God never disappoints!
Super fun and the temp wasn't bad. Great sound with a great view. Everyone working the event where amazing and kept track of everyone in the pit and crowd surfing. It was awesome 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁 😁
Over the top heavy metal galore. Malevolence was great. Kerry Kings band was wonderfully intense. Mastodons Leviathan music production with Troy Sanders vocals will be unforgettable. To cap the evening off with Lamb of God was sick. This show was a fantastic overload of glorious metal mayhem.
Malevolence, Kerry King, Mastadon, Lamb of God, everyone absolutely killed it. Getting to see two entire albums played live was an unforgettable experience. Especially Ashes of the Wake, it's literally my favorite album of all time, by any band.
LOG and Kerry King stole the show. I'll never LOG when they come to town. Their energy always ignites the crowd and they put on a phenomenal show each and every time this show no exception.
