LA SANTA CECILIA IN CONCERT:
Grammy-winning Mexican-American band La Santa Cecilia plays world music with a contemporary edge, treating audiences to a vibrant blend of styles as diverse as cumbia, bossa nova, boleros, reggae, rock, and soul. At the group’s live shows, brightly-dressed lead singer Marisol Hernandez dances along to the bopping rhythm while wowing audiences with her powerful, soulful vocals. In addition to Hernandez, the band's sound is shaped by Jose Carlos’s reedy accordion and Alex Bendana’s bossa nova basslines. La Santa Cecilia is known for their inventive sound and fun performance style, and they’re sure to thrill ticket buyers as they run through marathon sets of powerful originals, Latin standards, and reimagined rock hits.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in Los Angeles in 2007, La Santa Cecilia represents the city’s dynamic Latino population with their generation-bridging blend of native music influences and contemporary pop culture references. Named for the patron saint of musicians, the sextet got their start playing neighborhood shows that focused on social issues like immigration and environmental conservation. Favoring a community-oriented approach to making music, the group released their self-titled EP in 2009 with covers that were individually hand-painted by their fans. As their popularity grew La Santa Cecilia released the debut full-length Triente Dias in 2013, which went on to win a Grammy for the Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album. Within a month of their prestigious win the band released their 2014 follow-up Someday New to widespread critical acclaim. The band continues to play on behalf of social issues in addition to touring in support of their music.

It was a beautiful performance, full of great energy , love and pasión !!!!!! So grateful for the experience and honored to have been part of their show . Muchísimas gracias a todos y a esa vocalista que es un MUJERON !!!!! Que voz más linda y poderosa !!!!
Wife and I had an incredible night. La Santa Cecilia performance was spectacular and very moving. Cozy venue with great seating.
They never fail to please!!! Love them, I see them every chance I get.
They're not enough words that are complimentary and detail the performance that they put on. From the beginning honors to Julio Jaramillo (Ecuadorean) through the music from different genres and times, their mastering of instruments and voice was parallel to their live of performance. We were not able to stay in our seats. Apparently we were not the only ones, many couples got up and started dancing. It was fabulous!
I love La Santa Cecilia, I have been a fan for a few years now. They were amazing! Put on such a great show and they sound exactly like their record. Marisol is a vibe, totally engages the crowd and makes it feel so intimate.
This was my sister and my first time seeing La Santa Cecilia. Everything I’ve heard about them was absolutely true ! They’re an incredibly talented band & I will absolutely attend another one of their concerts again! We had a great time watching live La Santa Cecilia.
Great concert and venue. Only gripe is it started way late 2 hrs behind schedule.
Sadly, after an hour and half of hearing a local artist we left and never saw La Santa Cecilia, who I have been wanting to see. Apparently, some travel issues for the band. It would have been nice to hear an update as it seemed something was not right.
Super fun! Great music & venue. Atmosphere was pleasant and safe.
Can't miss this concert. Marisol voice and the band performing was amazing!!! Hopping they come back soon to NYC + affordable prices.
La santa Cecilia was amazing .. from English to Spanish songs . Getting the crowd hype into dancing . One concert I recommended to see . Would love to see them again . Enjoyed from beginning to end .
Great show; great performance. Left me wanting more. Location was great due to type of performance and ambiance.
Fun, affordable, local. The Fox theater was clean and friendly. The band was amazing as usual!
It was such a great show cant wait to see the again
The place is nice and clean, the only thing different are the numbers of the sitting they go 1,3,5,7,9, and 121,123,125 etc. And there is plenty of parking.
The show was amazing !!!! Playlist was awesome🔥🔥🔥 I really enjoyed the atmosphere of the venue. My seats were perfect 😎
First of all, La Santa Cecilia performance as always was amazing! Our only issue was the venue. We have a 10-year-old son whom has a physical disability. We brought in our son with a wheelchair and just as we exited our vehicle at the parking lot we were hit with several issues. The elevators did not work and we parked on the 4th floor! We had issues trying to enter the venue but managed to make it happen. Next, as we entered the venue and tried to seat in our seats, we noticed that there were no ramps for us to get near our seats with the wheelchair. My son was just to excited for the concert that he struggled to get thru but WALKED and sat down on his seat. Going to the restrooms was also a struggle trying to go up and down the stairs. We just wish that this venue was a little more wheelchair friendly so that everyone can easily enjoy the show.
The band musical is incredible not to mention or be overshadowed by Martisol's incredible vocal range. She's saying for 2 hours straight and it just as strong as she began.
Sound and lighting was great. Wished the entrance line process was quicker. They have two entrances they should allow people to enter by the food lab entrance, not just for VIP.
