LA Clippers History
The Clippers joined the NBA in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves, an expansion team located in Buffalo, N.Y. The franchise selected future star forward Bob McAdoo in 1972 with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft. He was named NBA MVP in the 1974–75 season, and remains the only player in the history of the Clippers franchise to win that honor.
The franchise, led by new owner Irv Levin, moved to San Diego in 1978 and was renamed as the Clippers. The franchise's stay in San Diego didn't last long. Levin sold the team to Donald Sterling in 1981, and he moved the franchise 120 miles north to Los Angeles.
The Clippers began their best era of success in 2010, when they drafted Blake Griffin with the No. 1 overall pick. One season later, they acquired Chris Paul in a trade with the New Orleans Hornets, and "Lob City" was born. They advanced to the second round of the playoffs that same season, recording their second playoff series win in 36 years. The Clippers followed that by setting a new franchise record with 56 wins in the 2012–13 season, which began a streak of five consecutive seasons with 50 or more wins and a playoff berth.
During the 2022–23 season, the Clippers, led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, again returned to the playoffs. They fell to the Suns in the first round.

Had a great time at the game! The Clippers put on a show.
It goes without saying that the Clippers are arguably the most dunkalicious team in the nba right now with the possible exception of the Miami Heat and this game against the Bucks was no exception. Blake, CP3 and Deandre were up to their old tricks and Jamal Crawford was at his crossover best. The whole spectacle was underlined by THE MOST EPIC J-Crossover to Griffin alley-oop the league has seen this whole season!
This was the second of two Clipper games I attended in the last few weeks. I had a great time at both of 'em. The Clippers have a great team this year. Although there are obviously other outstanding teams out there, the Clippers might very possibly have the most exciting team to watch in person right now. Hey -- like the cheerleaders, too! No doubt. Meanwhile, the Clippers won the first game I attended, but lost this one in an exciting ending. But..... I was on my feet yelling big time near the end -- and someone asked me to sit down! Man, at that point -- you ALL need to get up. However, everybody was really nice -- even the "sitting down" person. Hey -- What a great team! Also, the venue is nice, and all the staff I encountered -- from concessions to ushers to ticket takers, were very nice and accommodating. This has also been the case at concerts I have attended at the Staples Center. So, I hope to see some more basketball games at Staples. The one, one, one thing is -- it's a little bit expensive. However, I will always remember it. Great time, great team. Thanks!
The game was one of the most entertaining games I've ever watched. Where we sat made everything that much better. Not to close and not to far. We were right avove the tunnel where the players go in and out, so we could see them up close.
GREAT VENUE, LIKED THE PROMOTIONS DURING THE TIMEOUTS, KICKING SOUND SYSTEM, I'LL TRY FOR BETTER SEATS NEXT TIME.
GOOD GAME from Los Angeles Clippers and the Oklahoma City
GAME WAS GREAT. WAITING IN LINE TO GET IN WAS NOT.
Love the game but seating in those nose bleeds seats not for me.
It was awesome!!! I really like Staples Center since it has nice service basically.
It was great. Seats easy to find and no problems to pick the tickets at will call.
Clippers game was amazing, the venue is perfect .the view from my seat was a little hight, but perfect for the price, and just next to the terrace for smoking and eating outside. great sound system and a lot of fun with the camera play during time outs.
Great venue, great view. All of the employees were extremly helpful.
My first NBA game ever (from Europe), being a long time NBA fan this was an amazing experience - and even though i had tickets in the cheap section (303) i was suprised how good view you had from there - will definatly come back if i get the chance!
Aside from the obviously great game, the level of hospitality and service was very good. It was a perfect experience with everything in Staples supporting a good night and allowing focus on the game instead of shortcomings of any nature.
Even though we sat up high, the experience was fun. The only negative is the loud, mostly awful, music.
We got the upper level $35 tickets each but we didn't know that with American Express, we could go to the Platinum Lounge for free. The member could bring 3 people in for FREE. That was awesome! We had lots of cabernet wine & appetizers. Plus we could almost see the courtside game so close by from the Platinum Lounge. Awesome!
Just simple plain fun, nothing else to say about the event......
My first and could be last live game in Staple Center, I can't believe Clippers lost that game at home.
Game was amazin!!!! Was our very first experience and we are looking forward to coming back again! Hope this time I will be the lucky one for the 3point shot!!!:):)
cippers may finish with league's best record, playoffs?
