Los Angeles Clippers History
The Clippers joined the NBA in 1970 as the Buffalo Braves, an expansion team located in Buffalo, N.Y. The franchise selected future star forward Bob McAdoo in 1972 with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA Draft. He was named NBA MVP in the 1974–75 season, and remains the only player in the history of the Clippers franchise to win that honor.
The franchise, led by new owner Irv Levin, moved to San Diego in 1978 and was renamed as the Clippers. The franchise's stay in San Diego didn't last long. Levin sold the team to Donald Sterling in 1981, and he moved the franchise 120 miles north to Los Angeles.
The Clippers began their best era of success in 2010, when they drafted Blake Griffin with the No. 1 overall pick. One season later they acquired Chris Paul in a trade with the New Orleans Hornets, and "Lob City" was born. They advanced to the second round of the playoffs that same season, recording their second playoff series win in 36 years. The Clippers followed that by setting a new franchise record with 56 wins in the 2012–13 season, which began a streak of five consecutive seasons with 50 or more wins and a playoff berth.
During the 2022–23 season, the Clippers, led by Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, again returned to the playoffs. They fell to the Suns in the first round.

GREAT GAME GOOD SEATS FOR THE PRICE JUST UPSET THE CELTICS LOST BUT GREAT EXPERIENCE
I attended the playoff game in the early 70's when the Buffalo Braves hosted the hated Celtics in game 6 of the Eastern conference semi-finals. The Celtics, who had beaten the Braves 17 times in a row from the onset of the Braves' franchise, were up 3-2 in the series and had about a 7 point lead with 2 minutes left. Led by young Bob McAdoo the Braves rallied to tie the score with just seconds left. Boston got the last shot and missed but JoJo White pushed up the rebound at the buzzer and a foul was called. He got 3 to make 2 in those days and though he missed the first he made the second which was essentially the end of the franchise in Buffalo. Soon McAdoo was bought by NewYork and the franchise was "traded" to land in San Diego, then LA as the Clippers. When Rondo missed the first shot(and even had 3 to make 1) I had dejavu. I was sure he would make the second and history would repeat itself. But when he missed, and Baron Davis literally jumped to the heavens to make that last shot in the longest second in the history of sports, I figured Randy Smith must really be smiling down from above and got the assist.
Another great game at Staples Center, it was incredible watching Baron Davis hit a last second clutch shot to win the game!
GREATEST CLIPPER GAME!!!!!! GO CLIPPER NATION!!! I WILL BE GOING TO MORE CLIPPER GAMES
BD with the last second buzzer beater. Definitely worth it!
The three pointer was awesome, missed free throws added to the suspense, all capped off with Baron's buzzer beater. This was the best game ever.
it was a good game! Very competetive and exciting, however, our seats were too far.
My family and I sat in section 18 so we were still pretty far up. But I gotta say, last night's game was really really exciting. They had to force over time because it was a tie and there were many Clippers fans that were like going crazy. The atmosphere was GREAT! The over time was the best part where everyone held their breath for the Celtics free throws and the 1.5 seconds the Clippers were given. I definitely recommend it! It was totally worth going! Kevin Garnett was great!
The celtics held the lead for most of the four periods until the last minute. The game was tied and Celtics had to hit to two free throws to win, which they did not make, and the Clippers came out with one second left to win the game and prevented an overtime game. Amazing and very exciting.
The game was so-so, nothing too special...but the Clippers did try harder to score points in the 3rd quarter then blew it. Oh well, this season isn't their best but I was looking forward to attend the event anyway. The Spurs did very well and won the game after all. Sitting in the 301 section was difficult and uncomfortable. There is a huge lack of foot space when you sit down and if people need to pass you by. I wish Staples Center would improve this section!!!
It was cool ,good game overall i had a very nice time
The Game Was the Best game I have been to in Years. I always recommend staples for events all the time. the staff is great and my experience was GREAT!!!!
very entertaning, too bad clips lost but excellent halftime show
My husband and I live in Palm Springs and do our best to stay out of hectic Los Angeles...especially on an event night. Recently, our son submitted our 10 year old grandson to be a Ball Kid at a Clippers game...that game was last night, against Houston. The purpose of this review is to praise the Ball Kid program! It was handled by Staples staff with efficiency, attentiveness and a sincere desire to give the kids a unique and memorable experience. Their safety and security was as important as their fun...which was evident to us. We were happy to pay the $120 (good seats and parking) to share this experience with our family.
My two daughters & I enjoyed a Clipper victory. It was my birthday, so that made it extra special. We were welcomed by two of the Clipper dance team who posed for a picture with us.
Fun game I reccommend if you want to go to an affordable, good game Clippers basketball is perfect. Make sure the team there up againest is an awsome team and that make your experience much better seeing Melo, and billups was real cool and awsome pure fun.
I had a great time! Took this chick out there for a date and she had a blast! If I end up with this girl it's all because of the great experience we had. Keep up the good work!
wish we could have got better seats. we want to watch another event if you can provide better deals.
While sitting through the first quarter, of the game, last night, I thought the crowd was in for a another loss. However, the reserves came in for the second period and actually helped them forge ahead. The Clippers held big leads in the third and the part of the fourth quarter. Denver reduced the lead to two points. However, the Clippers willed themselves NOT to lose another game and they pulled out the victory. The crowd came alive in the last quarter and helped the team to victory. The experience was terrific, especially because the home team won. We had good seats and the banter of the crowd immediatley around us and throughout the stadium was exciting to say the least. It was an amazing night. There were a lot of families, with their children, at the game.
Last nights game was great. The Clippers handled Denver well. We game out with the win for the first time against Denver in 8 games. I took my dad for his 70th birthday and he really enjoyed the game and the seats we had
