WELCOME TO LA CAGE AUX FOLLES!

Winner of three 2010 Tony Awards® including the award for BEST MUSICAL REVIVAL, this hilarious new production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES was the biggest hit of the 2010 Broadway season, leaving audiences in stitches night after night!

LA CAGE  starring George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber tells the story of Georges (George Hamilton), the owner of a glitzy nightclub in lovely Saint-Tropez, and his partner Albin (Christopher Sieber), who moonlights as the glamorous chanteuse Zaza. When Georges' son brings his fiancée's conservative parents home to meet the flashy pair, the bonds of family are put to the test as the feather boas fly! LA CAGE is a tuneful and touching tale of one family's struggle to stay together... stay fabulous... and above all else, stay true to themselves!

With a glorious score of hummable melodies and a dynamite cast featuring the "notorious and dangerous Cagelles," LA CAGE is an indisputable musical comedy classic... and this extraordinary new version shows you why!

Simply delightful... La Cage meets Bird Cage

by ACoupleOfGuys on 10/8/12The Fisher Theater - Detroit

The evening started out on a 'sour note' with the disappointment of George Hamilton not performing and having an understudy, Dale Hensley (he was great), in the part of Georges. However, the 'show must go on' and despite the fact one of the main stars was not performing, the play was simply OUTSTANDING!!! Fun, humorous, cheeky... A wonderful night filled with laughs! From the very start of the "opening act", per say, with a Drag Queen performing 'off the cuff' as only a true Diva and Drag Queen does, with the sarcastic venomous quick witted cutting humor as only a true Drag Queen can deliver, to the very end with the whole cast doing the "encore"... Pure delight! Christopher Sieber was fabulous as Albin/Zaza. The "maid", Jacob, was a hoot and "stole the show" many times. The entire cast was amazing! Kudos to the entire production... A wonderful adaptation and "mix" of the original "La Cage Aux Folles" and the American big screen version, "The Bird Cage". Thank you, Harvey Fierstein, for helping bring this delight to the stage! KUDOS, KUDOS, KUDOS to everyone involved in making this "come to life"! A truly entertaining evening!

    la cage

    by DRDAN1 on 10/7/12Fisher Theatre - Detroit

My wife and i walked out. This was a high school play. The lead George Hamilton was a no show and his understudy was a joke. Getting my car out of the gated lot was also a joke. The one and only guard had to pull the back off the keypad tower to "flick the switch" to let us out. She informed us that she was predisposed because she was relieving herself. It just another sad story.

George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber both give a lot of energy to their characters. A fun, light comedy!

It was awesome! George Hamilton was a little flat, but the rest of the cast most certainly made up for it...

    I loved it!

by ChestnutCity on 10/3/12Fisher Theatre - Detroit

The musical was everything I expected and more. The actors, live orchestra, costumes were great! I'd like to see more of this kind of plays. I did recommend it to my friends and co-workers. And the introduction was amazing. Sorry, I only caught 10 minutes of it. It should be advertised! I would do it again. I had a great time!

    La Cage was sluggish

by lakearea on 10/3/12Fisher Theatre - Detroit

Too much of the performance was sluggish with delivery of lines, to be completely enjoyable. George Hamilton did not perform a believable role and his singing was average. Other actors, all though not all, seemed to be out-of-place in their charactors, as if their minds were thinking about lunch or something. The language accent of the houseboy (maid) was far too heavy and nearly completely non-understandable. There were many parts of the show that where very good and the acting okay, but not enough to bring it up to an average rating.

Fabulous show! Loved every minute of it, and was still smiling when I left the theatre. Albein was fantastic as were the other drag queens--costumes, lights, set, great! Only problem I thought George Hamilton was a bit of a dud when it came to playing George. His singing wasn't so great and he didn't really have the necessary stage performance I would have expected. Other than that, wonderful!
