WELCOME TO LA CAGE AUX FOLLES!

Winner of three 2010 Tony Awards® including the award for BEST MUSICAL REVIVAL, this hilarious new production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES was the biggest hit of the 2010 Broadway season, leaving audiences in stitches night after night!

LA CAGE  starring George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber tells the story of Georges (George Hamilton), the owner of a glitzy nightclub in lovely Saint-Tropez, and his partner Albin (Christopher Sieber), who moonlights as the glamorous chanteuse Zaza. When Georges' son brings his fiancée's conservative parents home to meet the flashy pair, the bonds of family are put to the test as the feather boas fly! LA CAGE is a tuneful and touching tale of one family's struggle to stay together... stay fabulous... and above all else, stay true to themselves!

With a glorious score of hummable melodies and a dynamite cast featuring the "notorious and dangerous Cagelles," LA CAGE is an indisputable musical comedy classic... and this extraordinary new version shows you why!

very nice evening of musical theater

by Indy9421fan on 12/23/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Christopher Sieber was simply outstanding in the lead role, and the overall experience was great. The supporting cast was also very good. Sadly George Hamilton was not up to the task vocally and a little stiff with the dialogue. Even with that shortcoming, the performance was very enjoyable.

All five of us really enjoyed this show. The performances were outstanding. The cabaret pieces added quite a bit to the show because the actors were very talented. We enjoyed the characterizations and the blended of humor and heart.

Christopher Sieber was amazing. Unfortunately he had to carry George Hamilton, but I would still recommend the show.

    LA CAGE was enjoyable

by Northeast1965 on 12/23/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Here's the problem. The movie (Birdcage) was so great, and Robin Williams and Nathan Lane were PERFECT. Any other actors would fall short. The role of Albin in this play was done extremely well; however, George Hamilton was, sadly, a huge disappointment. I know he's old, but that's the point. He is way too old and feeble to deliver a strong performance. He was slow, weak, and blah - just barely there. The dancers were wonderful and, overall, I enjoyed it, except for the impossible seats. We were in the first row of Dress Circle upstairs. Only a 5 year old child could be comfortable with the leg room we had. During intermission we changed seats and sat much further back, in order to avoid being permanently crippled.

La Cage is one of my favorite musicals. In my top 10 for sure. Although, I didn't love this performance. I for sure didn't hate it, but thing's were missing. I didn't feel/see a true connection/love story between the two. That's very important. If you have never seen this show, see it! If you have already seen this, u won't miss out on anything if you don't see this particular run.

    Not for me!

by Kambre on 12/22/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

The shows subject matter pertaining to sexual content was too much. I can see enough of that on t.v. and every where else now days. Too bad children were in the audiance also!! I know this is an anything goes world but come on. No memorable songs in the show. I usually end up singing a song in my head after a good show as I leave the building; not with this one. Went to see George even though his singing was below average too. I understand that is the way it is with "name" actors that are the drawing card for the performance. I just about fell asleep though with the same jokes and nothing else.

I saw this play years ago and so I am comparing it to that. Vocals were fair. Stage design was fair.

    La Cage, AMAZING!

by MamaC11 on 12/22/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

My daughter and I went to see the show on opening night. We thought the costumes and sets were wonderful, but more amazing than that were the performers and music. I can't even walk in heels that well. A MUST SEE.
