WELCOME TO LA CAGE AUX FOLLES!

Winner of three 2010 Tony Awards® including the award for BEST MUSICAL REVIVAL, this hilarious new production of LA CAGE AUX FOLLES was the biggest hit of the 2010 Broadway season, leaving audiences in stitches night after night!

LA CAGE  starring George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber tells the story of Georges (George Hamilton), the owner of a glitzy nightclub in lovely Saint-Tropez, and his partner Albin (Christopher Sieber), who moonlights as the glamorous chanteuse Zaza. When Georges' son brings his fiancée's conservative parents home to meet the flashy pair, the bonds of family are put to the test as the feather boas fly! LA CAGE is a tuneful and touching tale of one family's struggle to stay together... stay fabulous... and above all else, stay true to themselves!

With a glorious score of hummable melodies and a dynamite cast featuring the "notorious and dangerous Cagelles," LA CAGE is an indisputable musical comedy classic... and this extraordinary new version shows you why!

    Hamilton phoned it in

by Faygelah on 1/2/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

George Hamilton was laughably awful in this, and it looked like he didn't care. the rest of the cast, including a brilliant Chris Seiber, made this production watchable, but just barely.

The show was amazing. I would see it again anytime. The staff at the theater was not as amazing. Broadway in Chicago needs to do better training.

    Lacking Lead

by KzooGuys on 1/2/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Overall I thought La Cage was a well written show. The pre-show entertainment was fantastic! Unfortunately, I felt the lead's (Mr. Hamilton's) performance was disappointing. Although his constant smile was infectious, his movements [stage presence] looked a little rigid.

Was Christopher Sieber's outstanding performance worth sitting through George Hamilton's robotics? My answer is yes, as long as you love the spectacle and the entirely hum-able score. Too bad they didn't significantly update Fierstein's book...

LA Cage Aux Folles was very disappointing.

by 6545 on 1/1/12Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

The acting was poor, the timing off. Christopher Sieber was the only one that should receive a good performance award. It's too bad the others were not of his caliber.

Expertly done, and the cast was phenomenal. Albin blew the roof off the theater, as did the son and the restaurant owner.. The chorus line was amazing with their dancing and acrobatics. And what can I say about Lilly Whiteass, just a hooooooooot??!!! The best I've seen in a long time.

La Cage Aux Folles (Chicago) was entertaining!

by JayWalk on 12/31/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

Enjoyed the play, the music, and the characters. George Hamilton and Christopher Sieber had a great chemistry with one another and seemed very believable as George and Albin.

    Lacking in grace

by LittleLioness on 12/31/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

We left at intermission. The play as presented lacked charm, humor or pathos. Overall performances were amateurish.

    La Cage

by cafeman on 12/30/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

We thoroughly enjoyed the production of "La Cage." Of course, the score and the music are superb. The actors were good, the staging was good, and the opening monologue by the comedienne was excellent.

George Hamilton was disappointing-timing on his lines was slow but rest of cast was strong. Would recommend. Albin was outstanding and star of show.

    LaCage Aux Folles

by Orlc on 12/30/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

We enjoyed it and were amazed at the talent of all the "Ladies" men in the production. Albin was fantastic and had a very good voice. I remember seeing the movie many years ago. All the songs and music was great. We had 4 Seniors in our group and other than the seats being too close to the seats in front of us and rather uncomfortable, We all enjoyed the show very much.

    La Cage was wonderful

by Corliss1718 on 12/30/11Bank of America Theatre - Chicago

My family and I thoroughly enjoyed the production. The music was very well done, particularly the trumpet performer! We took my son, who is a trumpet performance major in college and he pointed out much of the difficult parts of the music book. George Hamilton did a nice job with Georges and all of the performers were very likeable.

Although I overall liked the play, I wasn't impressed with George Hamilton's performance. He was pretty mundane. Christopher Sieber was Great!
