    Not worth extra activity

The show was outstanding, but everything else was too pricey, and would not recommend

    So Disappointed ...

    by Mrs.Carpenter on 1/29/24Broadbent Arena - Louisville

I have been taking my kids to the circus for well over 20 years and now that my Granddaughter is 3 that was something i looked so forward to doing with her. I got to take her for the first time last year and the show really couldn't keep her attention with basically just the acrobats and clowns, hardly any animal shows. Ever since I found out the new dates of the Circus I've been talking it up to her and telling how were going to go see Elephants, Tigers and Ponies and eat all the junk food we want. The whole show has changed dramatically the past few years and I'm sorry to say its not for the better, there were only Camels and horses and the rest was just acrobats and things of that nature and that certainly didn't keep her attention so we left early again and its left me wondering if this is an end to a long standing tradition, will I waste my money again next hoping it went back to the way it used to be ... I'll leave that up to her next year but Im really scared to waste my money for a 3rd year ... What happened Kosairs ?

Should be as expected and for a great cause!

    by Electricman1 on 11/29/23

It’s ironic reading all the reviews about how there isn’t any lions, tigers or elephants. Well it wasn’t that long ago that there was a small outfit traveling the world that went by the name of Ringling Brothers & Barnum Bailey Circus that had all that and Much More. I grew up going to see their Shows remembering how much fun it was to see all the animals before the show began and watching them perform and continuing this tradition with my daughter watching how much joy she got from it as much as I did at her age and going as far as spending extra to get circus celebrity passes to be able to go out onto the floor with all the entertainers during the performance was Amazing. My daughter felt so Special that her Daddy Could make that happen. Then everything changed when the animal activist’s got involved . There’s really no right or wrong answer. I see both sides point but I seen first hand that those animals lived better than a lot of humans .Also to be a wild animal and to have to live your life always performing or traveling in cages can’t be that much of a life. I don’t know how long they would keep them involved before releasing them possibly at a refuge or something similar is unknown but I agree the circus is definitely not what it once was. Again though these are for a great cause and they put on a wonderful show and performance for what has been given to them to work with. Just don’t go expecting one thing and realize what’s this ? This is the modern day version of the circus as simple as it may be it’s also what our kids will one day tell their kids about. What are you waiting for reading this and get those tickets before their gone!🙏🏻🤡🤹‍♀️🎪

    Very dissapointed

    by Rebecca Woodruff on 2/25/23

I paid for the $30 tickets to get close to see the animals.. .. never being to a circus before... expecting elephants, lions, tigers, etc. We got domestic cats, camels and buffalo... super dissapointed. When i left i thought i would never waste money going to another circus... to find out that most circuses are soooo much better.

    Disappointing

    by D. A. on 2/7/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

We took our 2 year old grandson to see this. Costs us over $100. Had him hyped up about all the animals he would see and the show was mostly acrobatics and dancing. Only animals were kitty cats, camels and 2 bison. Did not hold a 2 year old's attention. Older kids probably. Everything in there was overpriced. Popcorn was either $10 or $15, 5 minutes in bouncy house $10, laser lights $20. We were disappointed. Won't go again.

    Awesome!!

    by Christina on 2/5/23

This was my son’s first time at a circus and he LOVED it. Having, or not having, the animals there did not make a difference, the acts were soo cool to watch! I enjoyed myself too, those contortionists could really shoot arrows with their toes! I do not think the tickets were pricey, as other reviews have stated, it was a nice price for a circus and the fact that people came from all over the world. We will be back next year!

    Very Dissatisfied

by Diana 13 on 2/2/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

Me and my kids have been going to the Kosair Shrine Circus every year for the past couple of years and have always loved it,we couldn't wait to go this year to see if they had come up with anything new and their performances were always a pleasure to watch, to make a long story short,we were not impressed at all this year and very dissatisfied/disappointed,a total waste of money and not worth the price paid for our tickets and food, this year's circus sucked, they didn't have the tigers, elephants, dogs, horses performances,no circular cage with dirt bikes, all the clowns did was come out onto the performing area and get out of the car they were in,like no act at all, some of the acrobatics were cool and seeing a couple of buffalo, but that's about it, definitely will not be returning and paying the price we paid unless they are better next year.

    A bit boring

by Les on 2/2/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

I’m sorry, but this circus was a bit boring. There is too much dancing and not enough excitement. Camels and buffaloes running around the ring. Isn’t that fun to watch. I understand it was a fundraiser but the intermission was too much. And with all the men walking around, trying to sell snowcones, popcorn, lights, and cotton candy you could barely see the show.

    Horrible

by PB on 2/1/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

We were sold tickets with a blocked view . I don’t know if this was the fault of the Circus or Ticketmaster but we had to move to nosebleed seats.

    Commercial!

    by rb3 on 2/1/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

We had a good time, I have not been to the circus in 20 plus years, it has changed. Pushing to much junk, everything is way to expensive ($10 small popcorn), to much filler betweens real acts, not enough animal acts, poor mc, and lack luster glowns.

by Grandma on 2/1/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

The only animal exhibitions were camels and cats. This is not what I call a circus.

    Different than past years

by Kaye on 2/1/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

We have came to the Shriners Circus for many years. We have always loved it. However this year it wasn't very good. In the past they've had super heroes doing stunts of some kind. We missed seeing tigers, elephants and dog acts. Last year and previous year they had transformer car and light up robots. None if that. Lots of acrobatics which is ok at first but becomes repetitive and boring. We plan to try to go again next there in Louisville but if the the acts aren't better we won't go anymore. We love the Shriners organization but I am rating this on the circus only. PLEASE bring back the previous circus group you used or something similar.

    Kosair Shriners Circus

by Stevecardfan on 2/1/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

What a blessing to support Kosair Children’s hospital. The Circus is not the same. No Elephants or Tigers Really only 1 clown this year Just not the same as years before. Not the fault of Kosair. The liberal left destroyed another fun and enjoyable evening with taking away the Elephants. But it was ok Circus. We had a good time Not like before though

    circus

by tom on 1/31/23Broadbent Arena - Louisville

to many costly things to have around children, if they see other getting it they think they should have it too and that diminishes the fun for a child. i understand kosair need to make a buck to support the good things but damn... i spent an additional $150 buck just for the kids to have fun.
