    Very sad

by StephandScott on 2/9/14Broadbent Arena - Louisville

I was appalled at the prices of everything. We spend over $100 on tickets in section 111 and after $30 on 2 tickets for an elephant ride, $8 for a pony ride, $6 to enter the dirty Disney bouncer, the super exorbitant food and drink prices, I wouldn't go back to this event if this was the last circus to ever go through town again. The elephant ride consisted of three passes around a small metal pen, the pony ride was 5 turns around a carousel, the bouncer was DIRTY, the nacho chips were stale and, most upsetting, was how sad and scared the animals look, especially the tigers and elephants. I was so upset during the tiger act, I wanted to leave and the camel trainer kept popping his whip at the camels....I am embarrassed to think my money could have possibly went to support the treatment of these beautiful animals. The whole set up was very generic and sad. The only positive thing I can say was the Chicago acrobat and the motorcross guys were good.

The circus was not entertaining. The Tiger show was boring and amateur. Every thing was drawn out but with no purpose. The only thing the performance seemed concerned with was selling ride tickets and cheap light toys rather than any acrobatic stunts. We have gone to many shrine circuses before but the current performers are not very good. Not even the Chicago boys could save the show. We left at intermission. No need to have one on a Thursday night when kids have school. It wasn't like the performers needed a rest from working hard during the show. They just wanted more time to sell rides and cheap trinkets.

    Shrine Circus was GREAT!

    by krakerjac1 on 2/9/14Broadbent Arena - Louisville

I took my grandchildren ages 8,10 &11. They really enjoyed the experience. We started out with the Elephant & Camel rides which they thought was really exciting. They all enjoyed the wild animals and my grandson especially enjoyed the guy being shot out of a cannon. The girls especially liked the Chicago Boys acrobatic team. HINT: Bring lots of money!
