  • Excellent concert with a gifted vocalist

by Knox Jazz on 2/14/25Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

We attended the Knoxville Jazz Orchestra Concert @ The Bijou Theatre downtown on Feb. 11th. It did not disappoint. The guest vocalist was Sachal Vasandani. We loved his performance. The orchestra has many gifted musicians especially to lead tenor saxophonist.

  • Laid back with Electric Magnetism!

by War Eagle Blonde on 12/23/24Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Checking in with a phone on Ticketmaster was a breeze with the well-trained staff at the Tennessee Theatre! Seats were excellent in the balcony. Having just come from dinner at Oliver Royale, the popcorn smell could barely fit into my subconsciousness; I'm sure it was delicious! The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra continues to "blow"me away with their music, rhythms, harmonies, guest artists, and the wonderful Vance Thompson. His voice is liquid gold as he thanks us all for being at the concert. I thank HIM for programming such great music concert after concert. I brought a newbie to the concert and she is vowing to return. What a wonderful way to welcome in this joyful season! I saw Becky Hancock in the lobby - She is doing a fabulous job with the Tennessee Theatre; keep it up!

  • KJO Christmas

by Nashville on 12/23/24Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 2 out of 5

The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra was as outstanding as always. The main guest was very talented but also clearly thought very highly of himself. He hogged the spotlight and his lengthy drum solo was way out of place for a Christmas program. All of the other performers and their selections were outstanding as well.

  • Knoxville Jazz Orchestra

    by Buffaloe7 on 12/23/24Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Best ticket in Knoxville! Great way to celebrate our beautiful Tennessee Theatre and the Christmas Season! KJO never disappoints!

  • Amazing KJO

by Sandy on 3/8/24Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Doreen Ketchens was a phenomenal artist! She is a must see performer! KJO and Doreen were outstanding. There are not enough words to describe how romantic, and emotional the evening was. We will miss Mr. Huff.

  • Jazz is for Lovers

by TBear on 2/16/24Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 4 out of 5

We enjoyed the performance. Veronica Swift has an incredible voice and the KSO Jazz orchestra was very good. A few more jazz standards and a little less rock inspired songs would have been nice. But all in all in was a very enjoyable evening.

  • The KJO Never Disappoints!

by Janice on 12/22/23Tennessee Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The Knoxville Jazz Orchestra’s “Swingin’ Christmas” was an evening of entertainment featuring incredible musicians! Even when the guest artist couldn’t make it because of weather, the KJO never skipped a beat! Incredible entertainment, and the perfect musical prelude to Christmas! We look forward to this concert every year, knowing it is always fabulous and enjoyable. Thank you, Vance Thompson, for leading this stellar group!

  • KJO & Emmet Cohen - Inspiring Concert

    by Steve A on 10/14/23Bijou Theatre - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

Largely playing the music and arrangements of Thad Jones, the KJO presented a terrific performance in their own right and a wonderful platform for the guest soloist, Emmet Cohen to take off and fly to dizzying heights. Other standards performed, Round Midnight and If I should Lose You by Emmet in a smaller combo were highlights of the evening where there was more room for exploration and expression. Overall, a brilliant and inspiring show.

  • The Diva....Dynamic....DO I DO!
