About

Knocked Loose In Concert

The evolution of heavy music has made it so the lines are blurred between genres and sounds, particularly where punk, hardcore, and metal are concerned. As the members of Knocked Loose will be the first ones to admit, they wouldn't have it any other way. The band's 2016 full-length debut, Laugh Tracks, is an aggressive encapsulation of post-hardcore screamo angst, as evidenced by its amalgamations of thrash metal riffing, sludgy tempos, and metalcore-caliber growls. However, the album's subtle nods to other styles — including nu-metal's hip hop-inspired vocals and early heavy-metal smolder — underscore Knocked Loose's commitment to diversity.

The band officially formed in 2013 in Oldham County, Kentucky, though vocalist Bryan Garris had started playing with bassist Kevin Otten and guitarist Isaac Hale several years earlier. Name and lineup changes followed, but the band did find time to issue 2014's Pop Culture EP, a brutal, churning explosion of guttural riffs and Garris' anguished, throat-shredding screams, and a 2015 split EP with Damaged Goods.

After signing with Pure Noise Records in 2016, Knocked Loose's career picked up considerably. In addition to the release of Laugh Tracks, the group earned high-profile opening slots on tours with fellow genre-flouters Every Time I Die and Beartooth, and a spot on the 2017 Vans Warped Tour. Touring with and being around so many different bands has helped Knocked Loose hone a confrontational live show. At their gigs, it's not out of the ordinary to see fans doing flips and jumps off the stage into a teeming crowd of moshers, while Garris growls and stomps around like he's hunting prey. No wonder the group fits in no matter where they go — Knocked Loose makes other groups bend to their approach, rather than changing themselves to fit in with anybody else.

Best show I've been to in a while

by Cara on 9/18/22The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Wasn't able to make it in when it started but still made it right in front of the stage. Knocked Loose put on a phenomenal high energy show and the crowd was great. Bryan high fived us and I got the setlist! Would love to see them again

    Best Hardcore Band Ever

by Carlos M on 9/17/22The Fillmore Silver Spring - Silver Spring

Had about 30 of my co workers and best friends here to enjoy seeing Knocked Loose and a farewell party for my last week at my employer. Had an absolute blast. About 80% of my 30 people party have no idea about the metal/hardcore scene and they all absolutely loved it. 100/10

    Heavy

by Before the Rooster Crows on 9/11/22The Danforth Music Hall - Toronto

Heavy, but all the mixes for the opening bands were quiet compared to the mix of Knocked Loose. Knocked Loose was unlistenable even with earplugs. Way, way too loud for the size of the space

    Fun... but don't hurt yourself

    by Abe on 7/10/22

Go in expecting a rowdy crowd, but there's no need to overdo it. One of the guitarists keep saying to "PUSH THE PERSON NEXT TO YOU!" and barely anyone outside the main circle pit flinched. No one wants to do that and no one should get carried away on a stretcher because of someone else.

flew from Florida to Long Island!

by Melissa on 5/11/22The Paramount - Huntington

Getting to fly out to see them in Long Island was so worth it! Only complain would be the venue and how security weren’t 100% on their A game but nothing involving the bands at all! I had a great time regardless!

If I could give 10 stars I would

by Lexi K on 5/1/22Val Air Ballroom - West Des Moines

I’ve been to hundreds of shows in my life and I gotta say this show was amazing! The lineup was stellar and the ballroom will always be one of my fave venues. I even got a parking spot somehow, that never happens at shows for me!? Will definitely be back for another mosh pit!

    Eh

by Shobbzane on 5/1/22Val Air Ballroom - West Des Moines

The first time I saw Knocked Loose was at a house show in Colorado. We broke their mic and they got all pissed at us. It was one of my favorite shows. Hardcore is meant for pissed off intimate settings, not giant venues with Avenged Sevenfold hoodied tuff guys. I died cringing to push moshers defending their girlfriends. Probably the last Knocked Loose show I'll attend. RIP. Kublai Khan still bops tho.

    Great bands, great environment

by Elijah on 5/1/22Val Air Ballroom - West Des Moines

I came here for Knocked Loose, but all the supporting acts did amazing, somehow I ended up in a circle pit for a pop punk band. Everyone smelled strongly like weed, but besides that it was a safe and welcoming environment with great music.

    Great performance, not great venue

by Tyler on 5/1/22Val Air Ballroom - West Des Moines

All of the bands were fantastic, but Val Air needs some work. The venue is lacking ventilation and is always extremely hot. Also, the sound is muddy for a venue of this size and caliber.

    An amazing experience

    by Ashton k on 4/24/22Encore - Tucson

This was my second concert ever and it was insane. I enjoyed the openers, especially kublai kahn. The pit during knocked loose was a mind blowing experience. I hope to see them again.

    Incredible

by Mandamazing on 4/24/22The Belasco - Los Angeles

This show was amazing from start to finish. Every band brought their A game and the energy was flowing. I was not ready for the amount of theatrics Knocked Loose came with! Literally jaw dropping!! The set up was incredible with the dark gothic vibe. The sound and every got me moving nonstop with a huge smile! The show was everything I could hope for and so much more! 🖤

    Horrible Venue

by Zac on 4/23/22Encore - Tucson

Every band did a great job but the venue was awful, security seemed to have no care for the well-being of anyone there. They didn’t check vaccine cards at all, didn’t pick people up when they passed out. Someone broke their ankle and instead of waiting for the ambulance they took their shoe off themselves and made things worse. Hope it gets shut down soon, very unsafe

    11/10 but crowded

by SpongeBoyAhoy on 4/18/22The Masquerade - Heaven - Atlanta

This is an amazing band! Great line up. But knocked loose is just too big of a band to be playing at the masquerade. I’ll see them every time they are in Atlanta but they shouldn’t play there again. Nothing wrong with the masquerade but they just can’t fit a sold out knocked loose show anymore.

    Decent time.

by Bubba on 4/15/22The Masquerade - Heaven - Atlanta

They had a great line up. And the crowd they draw is typical. The venues audio could have been better. Either way cheers
