  • Amazing show!

    by 74Brat on 6/12/12BLONDIES - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

All of the bands were great but Kittie rocked it the best!

  • Kittie @ Beaumont Club (Kanas City, Missouri)

by Anonymous on 6/11/12Beaumont Club - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Well, sadly, it seems that the venue either had no faith in this show, or felt it would fuse nicely with a random opportunity they were afforded (Warbringer doing a random off-date show during their current tour). No matter what, though, the crowd in KC didn't seem as into Kittie as the crowd at the show I likewise attended the following night in St. Louis (at the Firebird). But, as has been the case for some time, unfortunately the crowd seemed to significantly thin out once the local openers and much-talked-about openers (in this case: The Agonist) vacate the stage. Kittie's star (it seems) has faded from where it was even in '04 (when they toured for UNTIL THE END, my favorite of their albums). Although, whether this is the fault of the fickle nature of our modern youth culture (who consider anything more than five minutes in existence to be "old") or whether Kittie's former record label (Artemis) has black listed them remains to be seen, though the later seems more evident, as the absence of Kittie's albums in stores like Best Buy, their merch in stores like Hot Topic and the general "visibility" of them through media portals like MTV and general heavy metal/alt. rock radio station play, is all but nil. However, despite all this, the band powers through. I have, seldom, if ever, seen them give a half-hearted show (the closest I came to this was a show of theirs I saw in Farmington, Missouri at a bar called Outlaws in May of 2006; but the show itself was flawed from the outset). Apart from the above mentioned incident, each show I've seen is more epic than the last. Their new album (I'VE FAILED YOU) is among their finest work. And while both the KC and STL shows differed in terms of crowd attitude and the general demeanor of the band (despite mass technical difficulties, Kittie seemed to have more fun in St. Louis) the set was the same (and was constant throughout the entire tour) and, yet, still both nights proved to be powerful entertainment. I hope Kittie endures and trudges ahead, despite waning show attendance and, perhaps, slack record sales. The band is amazing force in metal (in music in general) and the experience of seeing them live, or listening to one of their albums, is indeed a singular encounter; heart-filled thrash metal at its emotionally-wrenching finest. I've now seen Kittie eleven times live (and have traveled to see them four times)... I've even weathered and tolerated other musical acts (Shattermask, the Insane Clown Posse, etc.), whose very name I would normally cringe at its mention, just to enjoy one of their performances. Even if the rest of the world forgets (or "moves on"... whatever that means) I will still love Kittie, will still buy their albums and will still see them live (even if it means driving 200+ miles to do so). The band, and their creative output, is just that good.

  • Kittie was awesome

by Enzzo on 9/6/11Masquerade - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Kittie put on an enjoyable, high-intensity show. I've seen them a few times before, but this time was the best. Even though there weren't a lot of people there, we still had a pretty intense mosh pit. The Masquerade is an awesome venue. Kittie's openers were pretty decent too. Dirge Within has an amazing stage presence, Diamond Plate is heavy as hell and reminiscent of 80's hair metal, Last Red Ransom's screaming female vocalist was awesome, and Inviolate gave us a bit of belly dancing. All in all, a great night of rock!

They put a great show on for us in Atlanta. They interacted with the fans and rocked our faces off. Wish they would have played longer. "lml"

  • A nice show

    by hfordno1 on 9/5/11Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 4 out of 5

Overall it was a good show. Most of the opening bands were decent which is usually hard to come by when there are 5 openers. Hadn't seen Kittie in a couple of years so it was nice to see them again.

Kittie was amazing! If I ever needed a reminder why I love these 4 amazing woman, I received it at the concert. They can rock like no other! I cannot wait until they come through town again. My favorite band of all time.

  • Kittie is awesome!

by Anonymous on 8/22/11Alrosa Villa - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

Wasn't sure what to expect going in. Kittie is one of my favorite bands in part due to the blend of screaming & singing vocals. So I wasn't sure how it would come out live. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. The ladies came out and played a 15 minute non-stop set that was loud, agressive, and just plain awesome. They played like this the whole night going 10-15 minutes straight with probably no more than a minute in between the sets. The only disappointment was they didn't play Brackish. I should also say that despite the reputation of the venue, Alrosa Villa, the place wasn't nearly as bad as people say. Overall it was a great show and fun night. If you have ever thought about seeing Kittie and have hesitated, don't, they are well worth the price of admission.

  • kittie was great

by jtreble on 8/21/11Alrosa Villa - ColumbusRating: 5 out of 5

The entire show was insane superkreep, as well as dirge within, also got to meet each band after their set, while all the bands played well, kittie was the the best in my opinion. They opened the set with what I believe is the title track of their unreleased album "I've failed you". The played songs mostly from the album in the black. Even after their set they came out and took pics and signed autographs for everyone that asked, VERY COOL. Even after that all the bands and some fans did a blacktooth grin shot in celebration of dimebag's birthday at midnight.

Completely bad ass show! Dirtfedd opened up with an energy packed, heavy set followed up by the amazing ladies of Kittie how definately delivered. Wrap the night up with the fact that I got to meet them after the show and it was an incrediable night all around. I would definately see them again if I get the chance.

  • Amazing

    by 99andInsanity on 8/6/10State Theatre - St PetersburgRating: 5 out of 5

This concert was incredible. I loved every single band there, and it couldnt've worked out better because Kittie wasn't there. I cant stand that band. I loved all the others, espically Asking Alexandria and Born of Osiris. Danny Worsnop (from AA) is really funny. All in all, the bands were incredibly good and did amazing live. I'd definitely recommend this to any fan of the genre.

  • Kittie was amazing...everyone else not so much

by Lboogieg on 4/12/10The Hayloft Liquor Stand - Mt. Clemens, MIRating: 5 out of 5

Kittie was GREAT on St. Patrick's Day! The sound was insanely loud for all five bands (too many, if you ask me), but it was a great show nonetheless. The only band I had even heard of before this concert was Kittie -- everyone else was really a waiting period. We have four bands on before Kittie; Scorned Deity was first, then Woden, then Gwen Stacey, and finally God Forbid. I wore ear plugs through all four of these sets. I loved Kittie's enthusiasm; they really believe in their music. Morgan was amazing with her vocals and she was nice enough to take a picture with me! I was on Tara's side of the stage the entire time so I got a lot of pictures of her. The performance was so amazing that I couldn't get video because I was too into it!! I love their music and live it was just exceptional. The only criticism I have is their set list -- it's entirely too short! Kittie has been around for 11 years now and Morgan and Mercedes at least know exactly how much material they have. What's the point of only being on for an hour and a half? I guess some people might get bored. If you ask me, instead of five bands on for short periods it should've been just Kittie and God Forbid for longer sets. But the show was great anyway. Kittie brought in some of their greatest hits; obviously "Cut Throat," which was one of my favorites of the night. They kept "Never Again" in the line-up too, which was awesome. They could've swapped "Sugar" for "Into the Darkness," but I like both so it wasn't a big deal. I wanted to see "Falling Down" live, but I think they swapped that for "What I Always Wanted." I also wanted to see "Mouthful of Poison," but I think that was passed over to keep in "Severed." But they kept in "Whiskey Love Song" which was phenomenal because getting rid of that one would've ruined the whole show! Overall, Kittie puts on an amazing live show! If you're a Kittie fan I highly recommend going to see one. They'll rock you harder than anyone else out there. You've been warned!
